  1. I took belt off and put it back on to make sure it's spot on by the marks on the belt not marks on covers, checked that cause thought that could be the problem before found the problem lol. Done a lot of z belts to so can safely say it's 100% right. Unless belt has stretched and causing problems. Bloody zeds lol.
  2. Hi guys, a while back had a post about a backfire when I rev to 2000rpm and let it drop back to idle. And felt a little flat like it was holding back. Changed every sensor on the bloody car, coils even injectors the other day. I only found problem by accident today, tried turning cas fully anti clockwise and problem gone lol. All I can say Is my timing gun must have had it, cause been setting to 15btdc so many times and it's been the same pop pop bang bang. Been using no1 coil, not the loop. Thing is set another z up the otherday with my light and that's fine. Cause I had the light and trusted it didn't even think to turn it further lol. But the cas is almost fully turned anti clockwise and had belt off otherday and belt timing is spot on. Didn't replace belt with new one, so do you reckon belt is stretched and having to turn cas fully or do you reckon my light is telling the truth and I have another problem still. Gonna check with another light tomorrow. Anyone had anything like this before. Thankyou.
  3. Uk/jap spec clutches are both the same mate, mine was a uk car but rebuilt it with jap spec shell. Buy the lot if you can, only mentioned buying each part seperate, at the time money was hard and got me out of trouble.
  4. I bought standard Nissan clutch from z centre, You can buy each part seperate. on my car I had the boost a bit higher and it was wearing the centre plate out, but the rest of the clutch kit was still like new so ended up buying just the centre plate around £80 from memory. Point I was getting at lol is at z centre u can buy each part seperate and on mine centre plate could be changed without worrying about other bits. The box is easy to remove, only problem I ever had was on my cousins Zx was the bolts for the exhausts snapped which was a pain had to drill them and use nuts and bolts. Goodluck mate.
  5. Cheers guys that website is great, if I bought pistons, and rods from that site. Acl bearings. And nissan gasket set. Would that be enough, should I really bother with new oil pump, and what about the arp bolts are they really needed or will the standard ones be ok - seems you can re use head bolts. And cometic gaskets and bits are these all for really big bhp. I get lost when it comes to all this updated stuff.
  6. Cheers 4 all the replys guys, was hoping to buy all the parts bit by bit cause I am usless at saving but looks like I will have to save up then buy it all from America, only good thing is it's a spare engine so there's no rush. All the advice taken for oversize and engineer work much appreciated. What's the best turbo kit to go for don't want laggy and not really after monster power. Like smooth power like standard z. With maybe 400 to 450 bhp. What would be needed to get that much. Turbos, injectors, and re map or would there b loads more.
  7. Hi guys, gonna have a go at rebuilding a spare engine I have, wanted forged pistons, rods, and acl bearings. Anyone know the best place to buy them from cheapest and easiest options seems everywhere I look ends up in America. Is that where everyone is buying from or is there somewhere hiding in England. What pistons and rods are best to buy, wanna buy cheapest possible but would rather pay bit more then buy ones that ain't any good. Any help appreciated thank u.
  8. Did u ever find where the part went. Looks to me like the bracket between the v near knock sensor it bolts to the block and I'm sure to the metal part of the heater hose pipes. Hopefully you sorted it by now anyhow. Goodluck.
  9. Thank you for the reply,Didnt expect that much writing lol. Sorry for making you write it all check timing tomorrow. And connectors. And post up the differance. The iacv one seems most out then hopefully it will change tomorrow.
  10. No one any good with the readings either lol hopefully there ok.
  11. Hi mate not a 300 mechanic lol, I am a mechanic though, cam timing was ok, throttle body gasket was leaking bad and has a major air leak under plenum looking like plenum gasket So don't hold much hope on the new head gaskets lol. I'd say it all needs stripping down to check his work or by a known working lump and shoe horn it in. But one things for sure wouldn't give him any more money.
  12. Hi guys borrowed a friends consult got these readings, how do they look to the experts cmfs/rpm 712rpm mas air/fl 1.28v thrtl pos 0.46v iacv-aac/v 24% coolant temp 81 celcius m/e f/c mnt= lean battery 14.00v vhcl speed 0 mph o2 sensor - 0.22v a/f alpha 99% ign timing 15btdc inj pulse 2.47 msec inj duty 1.67% any help appreciated thank you.
  13. hi mate if your doing na rear diff conversion You will also need the flange from the na front half of the prop and 4x bolts to bolt them together. You proberly know this but I found out the hard way and had to wait a few days to feel the differance lol.
  14. Hi it was mine, u have met the car now, the z said thanks for your comments but your making her blush.
  15. Hi guys, My z sometimes suffers light steering, I can be driving and steering will fill quite tight and heavy (which to me fills how it should light when going slow- heavier as it speeds up) But sometimes it will fill light and loose- like it is stuck on the lower speed steering. Checked sensor on side of steering rack and i have a leaky master cylinder which seems to drop the fluid straight into the plugs. so cleaned them up and have taped/sealed them up to i replace cylinder. and checked joints on speedo which seem ok. I have not drove it since so may of cured the problem (i hope). But what keeps going through my mind is that i reshelled my uk car with a jap spec shell, using most of the bits from my uk car, but used looms behind the dash from the jap spec and steering ecu from jap spec - but have uk clocks. is there a differance in the steering ecu to alter mph / kmh, when using either clocks, making the car think its going slower or faster then it actually is. or just confusing it all together. Cheers guys.
  16. Got a spare one when I put plenum back on I will try it. Thank you. Cheers. For your help.
  17. Hi mate done that already. Did ya tell me to do it a while back, someone did lol. Will check the part of the loom where the o2's plug into. Thank u 4 your reply

  19. Hi guys been having weird backfire and misfire problems for a while now Stripped the loom off the car gonna clean it up and do some checks. Had a little look all ready and there is an earth/ground which goes to the coil packs looked really rough. Anyone reckon this may be cause of problem. It's weird cause can remove each injector/coil 1by1 and rev it to 2000rpm in neutral and get a backfire. Only does it once warmed up. Seems it's on all 6cylinders. Running standard psi and ecu Also pulled the plenum and noticed it has a lot of oil around the edges. Is this normal. The egr that connects either side of plenum near throttles were really oily so removed egr and blocked holes. Poor car is in a thousand bits again gotta stop getting bored lol. Anything else use guys would look at while stripped. Any advice appreciated. The new website looks good but feels weird got use to old one.
  20. I only just had mine off. Give me a week and I will have forgot Yep close enough:thumbup:
  21. Wrong wrong wrong lol 12mm and 17mm mine were anyhow:lol:
  22. Motor parts direct, had them in romford essex bought 2 from there a while back, Worked ok never had a problem, but were made of gasket material, and im the sure original was metal, Motor parts direct are all over the place, so may have one near you, and if they sell them maybe euro car parts may too.
  23. Are they wolfrace or ruff racing, , mine are stamped up ruff racing 278, But look the same as wolfrace wheels. There a mission to polish, and the fake chrome bit comes off easy took 15mins to do all 4, thought i would have to take tyres off but they just split in half and pull out, (be careful they are razor sharp) And i removed allen bolts so could paint them, and left them out. just hammered a flat head screwdriver into each one twisted them and pulled them out. Goodluck.. Also your convertible zed looks stunning.
  24. Whoops lol. I sommonly swear to only snif it and spread it on my wheels.
