Manual and auto wires diagram
Hi mate, are u fitting manual or auto box back in the car, Thought u was trying to put an autobox in a manual car. but now sounds like Your saying shell has a manual loom down to headlight. but u have an auto loom that attaches to gearbox, Alternator etc, and want to make this part work with manual box. If so I may have a gearbox manual loom in garage u can have it if it's still there for free. the bit that goes from gearbox, alternator and plugs in next to drivers headlight. I will check tomorrow, let me know if I got it right this time lol.

How the feck to get these studs out!
On drivers side to get to top, if was being a right pain u could remove master cylinder should give u loads of room. But if starter is removed u should have no trouble and shouldn't need too. I don't drop the subframe, even when changing both turbos with the engine in. If u ain't done it allready remove battery and starter makes big differance.

Hi mate, on the drivers side have u removed the starter motor, gives you more room. Done few sets and had no problem. Passanger side, remove battery to get to top ones. Are they rusted on, If u need little more leverage, use 2 spanners ring part on nut/bolt then ring part of 2nd spanner on open end of 1st spanner. There not Normally that bad to do, but if really rusty anything can be a nightmare. Goodluck.

What's this connector for????
Can't remember stock boost gauge plug, so your more likely right, I just looked at plug lol and 1st plug that looks like that down the side of plenum. But where it is, is more likely stock gauge.

What's this connector for????
Looks like 02 sensor, if it is should run down the side of plenum.

Manual and auto wires diagram
If u got all the looms from auto car and it's all stripped out they should just plug together, had everything stripped from my shell to nothing, no engine, dash, interior, looms etc. And was pretty easy to put back together, but mine all plugged back together has it should. May have misread when 1st answered so not sure what part of loom you messing with. If u have all the manual loom behind dash and around front I don't think it will go, if changing it all you shouldn't need manual they should all plug together, sure plugs were all differant so u can't really get it wrong. Hope u sort it mate. Danny (cbr) had a manual he may be able to help mate.

Manual and auto wires diagram
Unless u have the original auto loom don't think it will go. My car was a uk auto tt, and I converted it to manual and adapted the auto loom for the manual box. But then I bought a jap spec manual shell to reshell my uk car. And I stripped it complete to spray it, and I'm sure the main loom where it plugs into behind drivers headlight was very differant, so I got a manual wiring harness what went to box and alternator. So it fitted right to the loom in the real manual shell. It was a big loom went right round front of car and connected up behind dash. There may be a way of making it work, I'm not sure, but making an auto a manual is one thing but the other way round I'd say is a nightmare. Sure both wings, bumper, and dash had to come off to change loom. Cause manual loom won't have plugs your gonna need, behind headlight, and I remember a relay I think in passanger wing my manual loom never had. And wires for auto ecu. Hopefully I'm wrong and u get it sorted. Goodluck

Them ka's are getting fast or speedo is wrong
Oh god that sounds and looks complicated, u mean I gotta race them 100mph ka's while looking at them lil screws. I hope it's ok now. Wasn't expecting pics like that thank you. Hopefully I don't need to use them. Thanks and thanks again lol.

Them ka's are getting fast or speedo is wrong
Cheers guys, I will see next time I'm on a run along motorway if it's still out. If so is there a pic of the screw I'm supposed to adjust. Never played with speedo before. I'm lost lol.

Them ka's are getting fast or speedo is wrong
HI mate, cheers for the advice, just went and done it, drove with front of clocks off and now pretty much bang on with tom tom. Hope the tom tom speedo is much right. Only thing I noticed is when I 1st pull of hand takes little longer to start going up. But that may be how it's ment to be. See how it is next time on the motorway, when the lorrys ain't doing nearly 100 lol, Thanks again.

Them ka's are getting fast or speedo is wrong
Hi guys, converted zed to na rear diff and subframe, and speedo is really out. Seems I'm going along in the slowlane at 100mph. Either that or ka's and lorrys are getting a bit fast lol. It's not so bad till around 50mph sat nav being few mph out, but has the speed gets up it's around 15 to 20mph out. Got a standard ecu on for the moment and Consult says it's limited to 115mph, but on a private rd limiter kicks in at just over 130mph going by clocks. Is there a way of fitting na speed sensor, or a known fix don't like speedo being out with all these yellow boxes hiding around here. Thank you.

Standard wheels v's 18 inch aftermarket
Cheers again, I will get my other wheels done asap, it's shocking if it is the tyres, I have had tyres before (pirelli) and been great on most cars but crap on the back of my zed very slippery. Maybe side walls are to soft or somthing and rolling about on the rim. Thank u.
-
Standard wheels v's 18 inch aftermarket
Tyres came on the wheels 4x new zeta ztr10, 225.50.16 never heard of them before so your most likely right, to buy 4 tyres for these may has well drive it to I get wheels refurbed and new tyres on the 18"s just have to drive soooo slow lol. Cheers for the reply. Anyone know how good/bad the above tyres are be appreciated. Thank you.

Standard wheels v's 18 inch aftermarket
Hi guys, What's your opinions on the 2. Standard v's updated. Had 18 before, and went back to standard and was amazed how better it drive. Then went for another set of 18 again lol, and tyres are low and standard set of wheels come up with 4 new tyres, so have put them on till get 18 refurbed with new tyres. But this time went back to standard it seems to drive worse, seems like it has lots of body roll and I mean lots, and no grip but more on the front wheels, if I hit a roundabout a bit fast the front just slides away, never had this on a z allways the back broke 1st. I have now sorted all my suspension problems, hicas bushes went na rear, and brand new standard shocks, no movement anywhere all replaced. But standard bits, maybe before the 18 showed all the faults and standard wheels covered them up. Was looking forward to smooth nice driving z, why had wheels done, but now it looks worse and drives worse, most people say drives better standard, but seems to take the sporty tight and lots of grip feel and gave me sloppy and scary drive no grip and loose. The other thing I also noticed before you could hit bends and turn and it would b slower to turn in so you would steer it some more and feel the grip, but now it turns in so quick and feels like the wheel/tyre has gone under itself and can't feel anything, hard to explain lol but like its caught in a groove like tramline with wheel moving around. Sorry about my writing I know I'm crap at explaing things. Anyone else gone any veiws or shall I just shut up and get other wheels back on.

Obscure BMC question
Hi mate, been looking for 2hrs for these cylinders, even went through one of those sand ton bag things got outside full of crap from garage floor and can't find one anywhere I must have thrown them last time I had a clear out. Really sorry for messing you around. Can't see why I would throw them, bet I find them soon, my garage is full. And there be tucked up somewhere I know it. Hope u sort your car, I would buy a z31 kit, if that's all they sell then it will fit. Thinking about it they sent me 4 seals and only the main 2 on shaft were right the other 2 I threw away. So must of been z31.. Can't they measure the 2 shaft seals or send pic of what they look like.
-
Obscure BMC question
Oh lol. I'm glad I saw the joking, 1st thing tomorrow I will find cylinders and let ya know. Sorry again for the wait.

Obscure BMC question
Sorry yesterday got stuck on job till late. Mine says tokico bm 57. So the same has yours I didn't get chance to find cylinders in garage but will dig them out tomorrow. I bought the seals from big red so the seals must be the same for a z31. I find mine tomorrow and let u know what they are like. Sorry for the late reply.
-
Obscure BMC question
I check tomorrow, but was bought from big red and is still working couple yes later. Maybe I bought z31 kit and there the same size seals. Bought it on eBay, master cylinder kit 300zx. If not think I have couple of cylinders in the garage could send u the seals or cylinder. For free. Check codes and dig out cylinders and reply tomorrow.
-
Obscure BMC question
I can check the code tomorrow on my cylinder, I used big red on eBay and the kit was about 12quid delivered I think. If we have the same code then they will have the seals.

That bloody backfire
Do you mean the slot type part on the back of cas that slides into the camshaft if so that's there and slotting in properly. Tried another ecu a while back all the same. Sure someone told me once that when the belts are a bit worn the cas has to b adjusted further and further to the left. Cheers for the replys guys.
-
That bloody backfire
Hi everyone. Stripped z down tonight and marks are spot on using back covers. So trying another belt see if there's a differance. Still unsure if the belt could stretch, and even if it did would it still not be 15% using gun but further anti clockwise on cas. Using gun it's saying 15% roughly just pass middle of cas. If not something else must still be wrong, pulls great and no popping but I know it just ain't right so can't leave cas where it is fully to the left.

temperamental water temperature
Could b a dodgy rad cap even if it's new worth a try. If not it's worth getting it pressure tested for leaks should build up pressure and pipes should be fairly hard when warm maybe not big enough leak somewhere to see it leaking but enough for it not to build up pressure.
-
temperamental water temperature
I use to get a similar problem and it was the rad cap, now I have changed it the water pipes go hard and have to wait a while before taking rad cap off. Didn't build up enough pressure on idle to push through matrix. Goodluck.
