  1. I think I may be to blame about 360degree turbos, I told him I had a set of turbo technics stage 2, they started smoking sent them off to turbo rebuilder think it was turbo dynamics, or someone like that. Put them back on, they failed again was out of warranty on the time they had been on but had done only few thousand miles, so I worry about buying another set, I said get something differant because what happened to me. But it could have been bad luck for me. I'm gonna be rebuilding my engine too, me and oobumbumblebee doing them together, I want around 400bhp with has close to stock lag has possible, what turbos would be best.
  2. I try pop round at weekend if u like Jason, unless an evening is better for u, but if u have this oczd too, it could be bad we might take it all apart lol.
  3. Lol, has long has I'm not alone, I don't mind. Maybe I could leave the t bars off and fill all the gaps on the car have no doors and climb through the roof. Least I can't worry about gaps.
  4. Hi Jason, How u been, I know your mental lol, I seen how u work even polish every jubile clip. Did u get everything else back together ok. Seems these days I enjoy taking it apart has much has driving it, maybe I should have just give it a boot up the road would have forgot all about the bloody gaps then lol.
  5. Hi guys, my misses thinks I'm mental and the neighbours are starting to look at me funny lol. I can't leave my car alone, came home from work and decided to take it to pieces, I had a uk car couple years bk Had it resprayed artic white but along the seals started to get couple of rusty parts back, I bought a jap spec shell which from underneath looked like new not a bit of rust, so I reshelled my uk car, painted the shell and put everything on it engine, interior, doors panels etc. A mission and only had around a week to do it that was painting it too. I had a workshop and was closing down. Anyhow today came home and gone mad trying to get gaps perfect on doors, wings, etc. Ended up stripping wings, bumpers, doors off the bloody thing, got doors back on and I'm happy with them now just gotta put the rest back together. My car is pretty bloody straight, but it's doing my head in, I don't seem to see the good bits everytime I look at it I see things wrong. Which no one else would probley even see. I really wish I never had it painted, cause it was like new when 1st painted that's how I seem to want it to stay. Scared to park it anywhere in car parks, it really drives me mad. When I 1st got car didn't look at every dent, chip so didn't notice when I got a new one. So guys is anyone else like this or am I really mental lol. Bloody zeds, lol.
  6. Went to fit gearbox mount for someone once, was on a z and was solid block of what looked like alloy. Problem I had with it was the silly bolts so thin. To me they looked like they would just snap has there is no flex. Never fitted it used standard mount, so couldn't tell u how they are, but I would gave thought there needs to be some movement or somthing is gonna break. I'm probley wrong and would work fine but I didn't like the look of it. Goodluck.
  7. I had auto, box went converted to manual and manual feels more quick to me and more exiting, auto seems to be smooth and not feel that quick but it is. The worse thing I found with auto zeds is u can be doing say 35mph one day and it would kick down and go like stink the next it wouldn't. And if u was going round a bend put your foot down it would try to kill u and slide but when u wanna do it the fu#+er won't kick down lol. In other words I find there unpredictable, if I wanna slide in manual leave it in 2nd if not leave it in 3rd or 4th. But has a smooth drive I loved the auto, but allways go wrong too.
  8. Worked on shogun/pajero few yrs bk changed head gasket, sure I remember somthing about ceramic parts used on the heads, Try taking the glowplugs out and see if it turns over faster, may have water on top of a piston and hydro locking, or water could have bent a rod. Goodluck.
  9. Sorry read u have checked it mate, would still check again disconect it if u ain't allready. Would give them symtoms. If it's sticky at one point. Can't see it being the rack, disconnect steering belt see if it still does it.
  10. Have you checked the little knuckle u joint or whatever u wanna call it lol. On steering column. Disconect it from rack and move it about see if it's notchy or stiff.
  11. If it's any help, and no one else helps drive to me and I'll look over it for you. I live on isle of sheppey, if your in rainham it's not that bad about 45mins. I'm a mechanic, and not to bad around a zed. Tomorrow is my only day off until next Sunday unless it's in the evening after 5. Hopefully for u your find someone closer,
  12. If your in rainham Essex, cbr on the forum has consult and lives in dagenham. I use to live dagenham, but moved to Kent. Try pm cbr his a nice guy, and more then likely help u.
  13. If I was closer I'd help too, but your too far lol. The box is the easy bit, clutch changes are really quick 3ish hrs start to finish laying on my back on my own too. It's all the Fiddly bits that take time, pedals, wires. What u doing about clutch pipe work from master to slave, u ain't using oem pipe are u with bleed nipple near headlight. Thats a pain, use braided hose direct or make one from copper pipe with flaring tool. But use The standar rubber flexi part from body to box.
  14. Hopefully your be better tomorrow mate. If pilot bush looks ok just whack a little grease in there. Has said u should get away without wings off, the length of pipe is only a storage. Instead of canister and pipework.
  15. Have u got a manual balance bar, or u may have to try and tee into brake servo pipe. Either way get a couple meters of hose, and one way valve and put one end on clutch servo, cut hose again put one way valve In then wind it up into circle cable tie it and tuck it between boost gauge sender and master cylinder. Then put other end of pipe on manual balance bar or try tee into brake servo pipe. Take it blue relay is the one under passanger wing never messed with that, I earthed mine to clutch slave bolt. Sure I just plugged the speed sensor on, your have wires left over for other bits and I touched them to earth 1 by 1 until starter worked. Then wire reverse lights and earth neutral switch at ecu don't hold me to it but sure it's pin 44.
  16. Think u can get away with wing with a length of pipe, and one way valve like the one on brake servo pipe. Never touched no relays, just earthed one wire to make starter work, can earth neutral switch for 15%btdc ignition timing or leave it and set to 25%btdc. All the neutral switch seems to do is raise the revs tiny bit when in gear with foot on clutch. Run the reverse lights with length of wire from switch to wires behind drivers headlight. The reverse lights I never had wired up on my car, and will not cause problems on mot or anything, well they never did on mine. Was told by inspector I work with they don't come into it. So main thing to worry about is speed sensor and wire for starter. Been a while since doing one so can't remember colours of wires. Did u get pilot bush. That's important. And speed sensor plugs in.
  17. Yep lol, using my phone too, wrote it and realised. Atleast I don't look like the only mad person. Did u ever do your wheels dazvert. ??? We had same wheels.
  18. Yep lol, using my phone too, wrote it and realised. Atleast I don't look like the only mad person. Did u ever do your wheels dazvert. ??? We had same wheels.
  19. Bloody he'll wrote all that and realised there's 3 pages lol and u have done most of it. Sorry for my long post. Manual flywheel bolts are longer mate then auto ones if u don't allreay know. Gotta start reading before I write.
  20. Ian it's fairly easy to do, just use flat head screwdriver or chisel and knock it off from engine bay side. The pedals ain't bad either, take driver seat out, so u can lay on your back. The pipe for clutch master to slave have u got a braided one or make a copper one up original pipe to front of car is a pain in the arse. Are u using the servo for clutch if using original bits have to take drivers wing off - sure I read u can use a long length of pipe with 1 way valve. Gear linkage is straight forward. Need a pilot bush/spigot bearing about fiver from Nissan buy 2 incase u brake one like I did 1st time and wait 2 days for another, I used socket same size to knock it in. Auto bearing knocked out with chisel and hammer held chisel kind of side on and knocked it forward couple hits each side to drive it out even. Remember to put back plate on before box it's it's the whole circle not in 2 halts like the auto. And I find lifting box on my own is the fastest way to do it. I get my head bell housing end and knees prop end it's heavyish but pretty easy nothing like autobox to lift. Take the four big tubo pipes off either side or radiator and put block of wood on scissor Jack, somewhere around front pulley makes it much easier to slide box on and better angle. Goodluck mate, but it ain't too bad. Done quite a few conversions,
  21. Ian if your temp is moving all over the place is it getting air in the system. See it a lot when 1st change water anti freeze maybe air or bubbles causing irratic temp. Get a manual and then start worrying about clutches lol. Hope u sort it mate.
  22. You blown your gearbox, lol your a madman. Yours is auto isn't it. Gotta get a manual in there mate. Then it's just lots of clutches to worry about lol. Is it not going into topgear or gone altogether. Hope u sort it mate.
  23. Mine isn't loud in a bad way just a wind noise when I listen for it lol. If you open the bonnet when hot, and give it a little rev should hear and feel that fan anywhere you are standing lol. There so powerful. Put new ones on BMW there pretty cheap £50 new from gsf etc. And straight away you see, hear and feel the differance. It blows everywhere around the Engine bay. Had viscous so weak can stop them with my finger then let go and they take a while to get spinning again,
  24. Even on idle, if my car is getting warm the viscous will go faster and mine will still move a lot of air. Mine is really noisey on start up can hear it quite loud, then goes more quiet then on hot days or hard drives I hear it get loud again. I'd be happy to let mine idle all day however hot it is outside, before wings, bonnet everything got hot now nice and cool. If it's warming up on idle I'd say defo viscous playing up. Most cars wouldn't even need a fan when moving along it's more when they stop. At idle with bonnet open can feel air blowing around even near battery they really do move a lot of air.
  25. Hi guys my car use to feel really hot under the bonnet, the plenum almost to hot to hold hand on it. But would never overheat, my viscous seemed to b working fine, but changed it with another when done a waterpump, and it seems so much more powerful, plenum is luke warm even after long hard runs on hot days, looked at a freinds z the otherday and his plenum and engine bay gets so hot. I reckon a lot of our cars viscous are not kicking out what they should even though they seem to b working fine. Worked on a few BMW with similar problems, when I rev mine a little with bonnet up wind is so powerful can feel it blowing all round engine bay. And sounds like an aeroplane taking off lol.
