What u think of my new holes guys, I tried to do a smooth engine bay, but wasn't happy with using filler. So have cut both sides out, and the local engineering company are fabricating the panels, Was shocked by the price £190 all in..im well happy now..gonna have a smooth engine bay with no filler whoop whoop. Another company quoted £50 an hr and 4 to 5 days per side..ouch.. Well heres the holes I have now,

How does the sliding passenger seat work?!
Mine is the same when u lift it forward to let someone in the back u have to push chair right back, it then locks and u can pull it forward to where u want it. I just thought it was normal.

Pulling the turbos with the engine still in...
U aint gotta touch subframe I never have when pulling engine, if its auto leave the box has it is just take starter of and unbolt the torque. The manual I take box off. Ive removed engine and refitted engine with box still on in one lump but jacked up back of car to get the angle I want. Never undone subframe.

Pulling the turbos with the engine still in...
Ive changed both turbos with engine in, on a couple of zeds, the workshop manual says to do it with engine in. Drivers side u remove brake master cylinder and the shaft for the steering. And I found this the easiest of the 2, Passanger side remove actuator and water oil feeds to get on all the bolts. I also took out the radiator and all the pipes at front so could get round engine easier, I have no aircon I deleted it which gives me more room too. But other zed I did had aircon and worked around it with no problems. Think the biggest problem is, its easy enough if everything is not seized get some bits seized and its a nightmare, also tools make a big difference if there good quality or crap. Drivers side on my car I did on a ramp, but couldn't finish car on ramp so did passager on the floor, but have a lot of tools has i work has a mechanic and could use garage tools if anything I didn't have. Silly things like air ratchets make big difference in tight places.. I can do a clutch on mine easy in a few hrs, went to do it on my cousin car exhaust bolts all snapped everything seized was on it drilling things etc for couple days. Think it all depends on the car.. Also some say take engine out repair other bits why your there which is best way if u have the cash, but im pretty poor lol and buying a set of turbos on its own is easier said then done let alone replacing half the other stuff around it. Pulling the engine half the looms break cause there brittle etc.. But saying this I've pulled my engine this time and replacing turbos and rebuilding engine slowly. Now I've had engine out a few times can have it on the floor easy in couple hrs, so would more likely be quicker and easier to do in the long run.. The other thing is I have an hoist at home now which before I didn't. So taking engine out at home is not allways an easy option. Good luck with it..

whats needed help
Hi guys im buying bits for my engine Got weisco pistons 88mm. Gt2560r turbos. Labree 5bolt down pipes. Just buying eagle rods, acl bearings etc. Gotta buy injectors... What I wanted to know is do I need an uprated intercooler, if I do get one will it make it laggy, More interested in has little lag has possible. Whats better front mount/side mount i have a brand new 99spec bumper and*don't wanna cut it up lol. Also had a greedy boost controller and got rid of it, I don't want one lol. Can I use boost jets similar to how u do it with stock turbos, cause think im right saying if I had 15psi on stock turbos with boost jets same boost on bigger tubs will make more power. Didn't like boost controller it was to fussy setting it all up and to easy to turn it up. Like the way it works with boost jets, What kind of power do u think Id make with 15psi. Any help appreciated,

Thread inserts/oversize helicoil
Is it only a carrier on them, I can't remember cause the audi a3 is whole hub, Are they not cast iron so welding could be a problem... Theres a place near me called nero in barking vw/audi breakers, if u cant find used I could get one and send it to u. Only reason I mentioned a3 is there similar to golf and had a similar issue in garage the other week last person had pulled thread out and had bolt just pushed in whole, They have no carrier so replaced whole hub, got it from nero. I wouldn't mess around with the brakes with heli coils etc if it is just a carrier should be cheap...
