  1. I snapped the bolts that hold toe arm to subframe, and chucked them looking at the bolts for adjusting rear camber arms they look the same has the toe arms, anyone know if both parts are the same. If not gotta buy new bolts or was looking at the after market toe arms instead of buying bolts. Dont know if that makes more sense lol, so crap at explaining.
  2. The cambered bolts if I buy adjustable after market toe arms for non hicas cars can I use normal bolts instead cause they have adjustable bits on them.
  3. Lol u said lock out bolts not lock out bar sorry, where would I buy these.
  4. Its not so much lock out bar, where I have na rear end they dont have hicas, So they have toe arms, one end goes to the hub the othe end has a special nut/bolt like the stock camber arms so u can adjust it slightly. They have a place on the subframe where these arms go into, the tt just has a rack which bolts on. Im struggling to explain lol, im crap at writing and explaining things..
  5. Hi guys, I have the na rear diff and subframe on my tt, I stripped it all down to clean/paint and the rear toe adjustment bolts broke. (ones with a cut down the bolt and washer that moves toe in and out) Was looking at adjustable rear toe arms if I buy these, would they come with bolts to replace stock or can I use a normal nut and bolt from my breaker from one of the other arms. Or does anyone know if the camber bolts are the same has the toe bolts cause have 2 camber bolts spare on the breaker this has no toe arm bolts has its tt. Thats if they come off without breaking lol. Any help appreciated.
  6. Dont let her here u say that, but then what man does know how a women works properly:wink:
  7. Looking good, id love a lathe but I wouldnt have clue how to work it just to say I have a lathe lol..
  8. Sorry I don't know the correct answer, but I think it was cz I emailed I have 88mm pistons to go in and have a set of oem gaskets they said oem are ok upto 88mm then need cometic for anything bigger.. If running big power they said cometic is the way to go, but by what there saying buy the 88mm cometic. But im useless with aftermarket stuff so id wait for someone who knows, Maybe metal rings on gaskets are protected better, being slightly larger there furter in from the edge of bore..
  9. Think its 2k, my painter didnt say any different, u doing some painting too, I hate paint its a sore subject for me lol.
  10. Most things are tight but say like the cambelts take the rad out and u end up with a ton of room and easy to do compared to some front wheel drive crap same has clutch I love doing them, do say a mondeo or new mini then do a zed easy peasy.. Lot of it looks worse then it is. Another stupid car do a starter on I think its an ls400 lexus its in the middle of the v 300 is easy. Most normal stuff cambelts, clutches, starter, alternator etc is set out easy to do, its only things like turbos that is a pain but really they should last 100k. Some front wheel drives have to pull engine to change clutch/timing belts. If u ever need an hand just pm me, I'll help anyone if I can..
  11. Dont really do zeds much anymore, done nearly everything to one though lol. Turbos even with engine still in, changed engines, manual conversion etc. Was working mobile doing all cars, but now started job in london again and doing mot inspector course. So time is the problem, Oobumblebeoo went half with me on a breaker zed and I said id put his engine together and drop it in, I get the spare car for spares for my zed.. If u have a problem with your car and I can help, long has its not massive and u dont mind getting dirty too I help out for free if I can.. But has oobumblebeoo knows im a mechanic and can do most stuff and know my way round a zed but im no expert with them, even more so when it comes to performance stuff. I just work in garages doing the normal stuff not aftermarket.
  12. Lol im joking shes ok I tided up for once..think she was shocked..
  13. Lol, exept im a kid with an engine in me kitchen, I love it stacie on the other is gonna kill u lol..
  14. Cheers for the replys, im not ashamed now:lol: I'll find out where its from when misses gets home, misses found it and bought it. But think it was Australia..
  15. Look what I bought, and I know its sad lol, dad keeps saying how embarrassing if it said Ferrari then maybe but fairlady z no way, he hates my zed, think its to do with I borrowed his xjs through it in a corner and knocked a lamp post over, the front was right up on top of the lamp post.. Stupid jag the zed would have went round the corner no probs and that was what I told him but the big stupid jag kept going straight instead of turning no matter what I did. His got a convertible one now locked up in the garage but for some reason he wont lend me it.. Anyhow I love saying I own a zed, so sod him. But I'll show it off hear see if I get laughed at before I pull it out in public.. What do u think
  16. Cheers znut and jimmer I'll put them in clean oil then, just out of interest would they have been fine empty like I've done with other cars would they have pumped back up the same.. Yeah worked pipes out, this is what happens when that oobumblebeoo keeps dropping boxes of expensive bits to me lol..
  17. Think I worked it out he bought an oil cooler, I'll check with him tomorrow if he bought it from z1 look like the ones for oil cooler on z1 website. Cheers anyhow mark.
  18. Mark would u know what these are for seems they came with turbos, water would need 4 pipes, had new oil feeds.
  19. Thats why I done the engine in my kitchen lol its warm, yeah think I'll just leave them lifters alone read on the net quickly and says if u leave them in oil they can fill right up and they wont squeeze and can hold valve open. Most people say empty them and let engine fill it up, Hope it goes right lol.
  20. Engine not having top on for couple days most likely, looking at weather here. To finish building need bits from engine in the car. So u reckon do what u say, or u think they be ok. Cheers for reply.
  21. Yeah its got a little ball in there too, like u said oil looks to come through head through hole in the side of lifter and out the hole in the top which looks to lube the cam lobe. I think filling it with oil could hold valve open and better to have less and engine pump them up. I'll see hoe it goes when it starts better not have to strip it again to fill with oil I know what these zeds are like they allways wanna be different. . Hows your car going, all stripped poor car lol
  22. Yeah they were fine before but i just wanted to make sure they were clean etc. Done it loads of times before just making sure on the zed its the same its not my engine and I dont wanna strip it down again lol. They wasn't spongy either I checked before taking apart, the oil pressures should pump them up ..I hope..
  23. Yeah they fill spongy, so u reckon put some more oil in them to they dont, or will it build up on its own when started. Just ive had it before holding a valve open. So normally do it this way rattles for few secs then goes quiet.
  24. Hi guys has above helping oobumblebeoo with his engine rebuild, Just wanted a bit of advice, stripped all 24 of the hydraulic lifters cleaned and rebuilt them done this to lots of other cars but mainly 4pots that if there was a problem could strip it back down in no time, But being a zed not that easy lol, Normally id just use tiny smear of oil or lube so there not dry put it back together and let it build its oil up incase I put to much in and end up with valves staying open. Anyone built the lifters or know if thats wrong to do on a zed.. All the rest has gone well, changed all the stem seals, re ground all the valves what a mission 24 of the buggers.. Put his new 525 turbos on and new oil feeds.. Misses wants to kill me cause done it in the kitchen, bit cleaner then my garage. Well incase oobumblebeoo is reading a couple of pics for him to see.. Any help appreciated. .
  25. Ok never noticed it before I tried it with u. Can I read mine if I have any to see why lol
