Theres a few cars about around here, I have my white one and a grey one for parts. Yours, 300zedx, Oobumblebeeoo/Anthony, Jason farrow, There's a grey one and a red one within a mile of my house don't think there with the club and I don't know them, White one u have spotted. That's 9, there nearly common around here lol.

Aarrggghhhh look I can't finish it or can I lol, Working in snow frreeezzzziiiiinnnnnnggggggg.... It's not deep but it's still cold snow, and it's just my luck my minds been ticking all night thinking how I'm gonna finish the car to wake up to this lol.

Yeah yeah yeah :blushing: now that's being to nice lol. I am happier with it just a quick, hit with flap disc and that's all its getting lol.

Yeah but I'm useless lol, I just can't seem to get it, end up messing it all up. Looks easy when u watch someone else I do it and go mental.

I just been sort of stitch welding it, please don't tell me to grind it flush lol, I'm useless with the grinder I'm to heavy handed and keep going to far with it making the metal thin. Hopefully what I'm doing now welds will look like seam sealer if not I'll get them covers lol. Thanks for your reply. Them inner wing things are cool, I'll look into them if this don't come out right, Thanks for that.

Yeah it's gone right through and gonna use flap disc on welds tomorrow ain't touched them yet. But gonna clean them only a little bit so welds look like Seam sealer once it's all painted.

Well guys, I drove to derby yesterday, and cut the part I needed out. Thank u mark derby, great guy. Got up this morning and thought sod it I'm gonna do this that stupid zed ain't winning. This is how far I got do u guys think it will be ok, no laughing at me please... I decided I was gonna do the butt welds where the stock seam sealer is, so I can grind the welds just a bit and make it look like seam sealer and the seam sealer is where the rust started so hopefully it will solve that too. May even clear of the seam sealer in the rest of the bay and weld it up any opinions on that, good or bad idea lol.. Well here's some pics Again please be nice lol, any advice or tips if this will be strong enough and ok would be great.. Thank u.

Cheers for your reply, Gonna drive to mark derby today and get the new part,thank u mark... Then I'll let someone else do it lol. The welding wasn't really the problem, its more the cleaning it up I'm struggling with keep making either side of the welds turn blue and then it cracks cause its to thin. I did use a 40grit flap disc, Then again it's proberly my welding and grinding, I'll let someone else fix it otherwise ill end up cutting the car up, I do go a little nuts with a grinder.

Sounds great has long has mine don't end up a breaker lol. Just bought brand new 99spec bumper, wheels, skirts etc. And now have a big hole in my pocket and in the bloody car.

Why don't we ever all meet up, loads of zeds round here and never see one. Oh maybe it's cause there always broke..

If I can find inner wing 300zedx will help me, so who's got an inner wing they can chop off for me.

There hydraulic lifters in a zed, no tappets. Look like this...

I learned to weld on these but it was easy to cut, in the shop and was all clean, john faraki saw me messing with a prelude vtec I had could see I was car mad and said come work for him. Was really fun and he could bloody make anything, but he didn't wanna pay me he wanted to build cars and split profit. But I have kids and couldn't live without a wage or I would have done it forever lol.

Lol sounds about right, least I'm smiling now I had metal in my eye, and got flashed about ten times from welder, to end up with hole bigger then I started with after 6hrs in the bloody cold. I wasn't amused could have set fire to it. If it's still fixable I ain't so stressed now I'll call someone into do it, And admit my car welding ideas are over.

Your more then likely right I'm ok welding thicker stuff but the tin foil zx is made of I'm useless lol Looking on the net for a mobile welder, I have no chance making that plate now, Hole is getting so big I dare try it anymore. Cebora welder is brilliant in the right hands lol

Also bought 40grit flap disc today, that's where I went wrong, my father in law keeps saying weld and grind flush so don't need filler, He done it on his mg midget but god knows how, And his to busy to help me:crying: It was fine could have put a skim of filler over it and now I ruined it trying to get welds to look like it ain't been welded. Now I need the bit I cut out my spare zed again. And have nothing to cut it out of, and not very good at fabricating the shapes.

I have cougar gas, my mig is snap on/ cebora like this In the pic welds look big cause put seam sealer over them to protect till my next day off Fixed the box section bit like this So box section bit is back in and ok now, And posted wrong pic hole is bigger then 1st pic With the hole this big is it still fixable. Please say yes

I'll have a look now, really don't want to have to get another whole shell cause other then that bit the underneath and seals etc it's like a new car. It started has a spot of rust in the seam sealer and I got carried away with a grinder lol. I'm so pi @#ed off with this car right now, if I need another shell don't think I'll bother with the car. Does anyone think it's fixable or have I ruined the car

Is anyone scrapping a zed shell with no engine, around London/Kent area that I could cut this out, or would a decent welder be better off fabricating it from scratch. Any advice would be great .

Hi guys I'm at the point gonna scrap my zx, really pi@#ing me off. I have a problem in the engine bay and can't finish my respray to its done. This is the problem I had some rust I cut it out and welded in a patch, but it keeps coming out crap. So now cut it out again and hole is getting bigger and bigger. I want it right and just can't do it. I even cut the part from a spare zx I have welded it in a was going good then tried grinding welds down and either side of welds keep getting thin. And now that's ruined. Anyone know a welder in Kent area that could fix this, I have the welder and tools. Can't move the car to take it anywhere either I'm really in the crap and don't know what to do. This is what it looked like when I done it I painted it black and used some seam sealer on it all over the welds to stop it rusting till my next day of today and then when trying to grind welds flush metal around welds got thin and cut the whole lot out again.
