  1. You have to take the intake pipes off so that you can see the butterflys inside the throttle body, then you can judge whether they are both in the same position and open at the same time/when you open the throttle. If they don't you can adjust it using those screws in your pictures
  2. Lol, I hate spacers for one reason: On the driver home after buying my Z one of the front wheels flew off! Luckily I was only doing 5 miles per hour trying to overtake a cyclist at the time.(The wheel overtook him but not the car lol) Upon inspection all the wheel studs were fine and the wheel nuts were still bolted on tight.....to the spacer! but the spacer and wheel were no longer on the car. The seller had obviously done the spacer nuts hand tight 'cos he couldn't get his socket on them or something! Even if I had checked the wheel bolts having bought the car (not something you usually do having just bought a car!) they would've appeared tight! Could've been a whole lot worse! The biggest thing wrong with hubcentric spacers is the users of them as JeffTT's pictures and my story show
  3. Nismo 555cc injectors are purple, but I don't think that just 'cos it's purple it means that it's 555cc. Lots of standard non Z cars injectors come in purple colour. I bet if you went to nissan and bought a standard Z injector now it wouldn't still be brown? Any part numbers visible?
  4. I removed my rear hubs then used a press to get them out, not the shortest but probably the easiest least swear word way!
  5. Probably one of the many used for balancing the TB's, get a pic up might help.
  6. I bought a secondhand engine with turbos for £250 on ebay and changed it myself using the best mix of ancillary and turbos from my old engine and that one. Way cheaper, easier and quicker than rebuilding my old engine and it works fine!
  7. Tell the Police immediately they may still be able to find some tool driving it around, and is deffo his responsibility. You should be claiming against his garage's insurance for the loss
  8. I'd also suggest that a lot of the suspension, subframe and powertrain mounts and bushings will be a big contributor to a crashy ride. I would expect that a Zed with standard new everything would be pretty comfortable. I've just replaced pretty much all of the above with much harder uprated stuff and it's really low on hard coilovers but ride wise I rate it about 5/10, not too bad considering I've got solid rear subframe bushes and most of the suspension arms are now spherical bearing types!
  9. I've been drifting about 3 years, mostly in e36's. They're awesome reliable and great for drifting, take as much high revving abuse as you can throw at them. Have to admit the Z isn't as good, but is 1000 times cooler than any e36 so I'm determined to make it work! lol
  10. That was me!! Thanks dude, trying to start a revolution against S-Bodies! Car survived probably thanks to the massive accusump I've installed. It's first outing in over 2 years since the original engine died at snetterton. Have to say car was pretty good (I've increased the steering lock among many other things) It's got loads of lag mainly thanks to the poo turbos I had to put on to get it running but I have some nicer ones awaiting installation. Oil temps were getting sky high with the stock oil cooler and could only manage 3 or 4 laps before having to do some car park cooling laps lol. Haven't found many pics of me unfortunately but here's a couple courtesy of Ammophotography.co.uk - Thanks
  11. Ok, long night last night but it is doable on car you just have to be dextrous and have deep sockets, flexi joints and long extension bars. Anyone need help with installing an accusump shout me up and I'll provide further info
  12. For future search info, the check valve blank on the oil tree is 3/4" UNF thread, took the oil tree to an engineering supplies shop to find out. I'm will be removing check valve as suggested, recommend buying a hook and pick set to get the valve stop out if you're doing it on car! Then installing a check valve in the oil cooler line as close to the tree as poss. to keep the majority of accusump oil going to the engine. Let you know how it goes!
  13. Good to see! We like Zeds back on the road!
  14. Hi gents, did anyone ever work out what thread type the check valve blank is...I've read some article saying Nissan use BSP and some saying they use BSTP? I'm planning to install a check valve into my oil cooler line and plumb my accusump into here but wanna be sure of the thread type before I go stripping threads from my oil tree!
  15. And after that maybe someone can answer my question? :P
  16. Ummm, so how do you get your ABS switchable? have you just spliced into the fusebox or something?
  17. Lol, that was me! I never posted on the DW thread 'cos it seemed they all wanted to come and bum me for being so nice and returning the wheels lol. I lost a fair bit of money returning them but it felt right. Dan gave me a couple of new Federal RS-R tyres as grattitude which was nice. Unfortunately I lived at the other end of the country to the guy I bought them from so I couldn't go and kick my money back out of him. Hope your stuff end up in the hands of an honest person and they see this thread too.
  18. Super old thread but sounds very similiar to my current running problems, anyone know what the solution eventually was?
  19. I had to remove the rear hubs on mine to press out the Hicas ball joints...so whilst they were off I changed all the bushes on the rear hubs for poly ones. Worth doing. You'll really struggle to get the Hicas ball joints to budge without a press if they're the originals.
  20. I saw a different mythbusters with the same Zed in it, only a glancing shot of the rear light but knew it was a zed......must be a resident in there car park!
  21. There's a drifty one in japan somewhere with an SR20 in it, saw a vid where he crashes on the first corner lol
  22. He's using it for coolant^ I personally wouldn't unless it was REALLY hard to get hold of some proper coolant piping just for peace of mind.
  23. Old thread but hey: Are the Rear strut mount bushings the big ones that go into the rear hub and that you mount the bottom of the strut to? If so, how much are Energy ones now? Still £28?:innocent: Simon
  24. Sweet, good work dude. I'm currently using one of my reverse lights as a fog and hate that it looks like one of my lights is out when reversing.....will be buying a set of reverse and fogs from you soon! Looking forward to the rear lights and indicators aswell, they would look ace! S
