What is this for!!?? Solenoid and strange pipe routing
Sweet, cheers guys. That makes perfect sense, and yes it is a SWB with the washer bottle in the boot, guess they couldn't package it anywhere better so just stuck it there and ran the piping over the wheel arch. Bit poo but we all know what the Z's packaging space is like! thanks

What is this for!!?? Solenoid and strange pipe routing
Help me out here, what is this and why is it located there! seems strange to run a pipe all the way to a solenoid at the front and then back again and through the bulkhead. Done an engine swap and it's the last vacuum pipe I got left. I'm guessing it needs vacuum from the balance bar? Is it related to the AIV or EGR system 'cos I ditched both of them. Where does it connect to and more importantly what is it!? Pics are of the solenoid and pipes and one of each end of the pipes: Don't worry about the mess of pipes and wires and open T piece where the EGR used to be that's all sorted now, just this pipe left that I wanna know what it is before I blindly connect it to the balance bar!

Turbo query!
Anyone know how to identify the difference between auto and manual 300zx standard turbos and what the difference is between them other than 'bigger/smaller' ? Help appreciated!

I need an alignment tool for my twin plate clutch, all the 'kits' I've seen state for single plate only, anyone got a spare tool lying about or have a recommendation for one I can buy for twin plates and where from! Needed ASAP!:wack:

rear engine oilseal
I need to change mine, I've got two Z engines in my garage so I thought I'd try it on one and get it right on the other. It was really tight in! I demolished the seal and marked the casing! doh. Trying to rethink my strategy for the engine that matters...might try putting two screws in, however I've already removed the casing so is it worth trying to get it pressed out by someone or is it fairly easy to do it properley?

Top Gears Zed had a broken diff! Correct?
Sorry, I should've stated FRONT tie rods earlier....this is getting silly and I apologise for any confusion and my original mistake that HICAS turned at slow speeds...I really thought it did! - anyways it obviously doesn't. and I have extra front lock (smaller turning circle) via tie rod spacers as per: http://www.driftworks.com/catalog/products/steering-angle-spacers.html Mystery solved P.S. Love your car Si, hope I haven't come across as a too much of a dick:nelson: Peace

Top Gears Zed had a broken diff! Correct?
Just had a check and its got spacing washers on the rack end of the rods...thats what I meant by modified. Please don't get into statements about the actual part not being modified just the way its mounted, most unpedantic people will of known what I meant previously...and I already agreed with you about the HICAS! my mistake!

Top Gears Zed had a broken diff! Correct?
Caught a couple! Not gonna pretend I thought I weren't right 'cos I did. Mainly 'cos it felt like it was and I've always thought that it did...wondering if the tie rods on my JDM were modified before it was imported if you's all have rubbish lock? Didn't mean to sound like a know it all noob and I don't usually.....just really thought I was right this time! can't beleive it doesn't work at slow speeds....why not Nissan?!

Top Gears Zed had a broken diff! Correct?
I never said they were the same. Also Z32's Hicas does turn with the wheels at slow speeds to reduce the turning circle for manouvering and against at hi speeds to improve stability. Have you never driven a Z32 with HICAS the turning circle at slow speeds is immense - or it was in my SWB anyways...not so much now with it removed :(!? I've got a write up on it somewhere. Also see here for slow speed operation:

Top Gears Zed had a broken diff! Correct?
In theory HICAS is safer, it just never caught on because it feels weird to the driver and the old hydraulic systems were a bit slow. Mines been removed, but that's because I do a bit of drifting:cool:...if it was my road car I woulda left it on......Love the turning circle at slow speeds, and the extra stability at high ones! and yes it most certainly is 4 wheel steer! Lol....honda preludes also have 4 wheel steer.

Oil starvation solutions for the track
Well I think I may also opt for the SZ sump, maybe we can save some money with a double order? I've also been looking at the V8 option!...gonna see how long this engine lasts...will hopefully be longer than the one trackday the other one managed!

Oil starvation solutions for the track
Cheers guys, some good ideas there, I like the running with a bit more oil than usual and an accusump sound like a neat idea, do anyone know of anyone that has fitted one to their zed? I shall do a bit more research. With the SZ sump, I guess I'd have to ship one from the US? Is there any UK suppliers. Think I'm going for overkill oil wise. Have you got any more pics/details on your setup jaffa? . it sounds like a good one...pic of inside the sump would be nice and how and where have you done the extra oil return lines from the head? Thanks!

Oil starvation solutions for the track
Cheers for the response guys, any idea on the cost of the speciality Z sump including shipping/import fees? Is it a decent quality item jaffa? I've already looked at your pics of the outside...not sure on the gold :) lol. Excuse my ignorance but what is an accusump? Legrath: I'd be interested in your planned solution for the oil problem with your track zed build. Thanks peeps!

Faulty Speedo
where's the love? can anyone help me with this?

Faulty Speedo
had the same as this chap with my speedo/hicas. anyone know the solution or know how draemora sorted it.....I'm guessing its not a localised speedo clock fault as the hicas should still work right....speed sensor as this chap said? or the speedo circuit board. Ta
