  1. Ooo, sorry just saw the 'only actual experience bit please'. Doubt anyone has done a split downpipe on its own I'd probably say he's right. It's one of those mods based on a theory, but actual gain from splitting the two flows of exhaust for a further 10cm's out the back of the turbo is probably negligible and not worth the expense alone if you already have elbows that will fit your tubs!
  2. Where's the best place to get an uprated pivot ball? I see some nismo ones on ebay but they're all from Australia or the US
  3. Might help to list what new parts you have just fitted?
  4. Try removing your spacers if possible or swapping the back/front wheels as a trial to eliminate those from the equation.
  5. Lol 6 reply's appeared whilst I had this on my screen and worte my reply above!
  6. Pretty limited, BMW's, Mercs, Lexus is about it. Only others are pickups etc.
  7. I've got one set of spacers on mine and am fairly happy with the results. The way they work is that they allow the tie rods to go into the rack further each side so that effectively the rack moves further and hence you get an extra bit of steering wheel turn each way. You have to modify (grind down) the lock stops on the hubs to get the benefit.
  8. 155mph is the 'gentlemens agreement' limit for German cars. There's isn't a 155mph limit on jap cars...it's 112kph or in theory if you convert it to mph without removing the limiter 112mph........Think the above is correct!
  9. Think people will need a bit more info: model number, pics of the unit? Possibly worth trying to find a more general performance forum than just 300zx one aswell: driftworks etc.? Soz I've never heard of Grid as a company.
  10. My Zed has coilovers, but have always shyed away from putting them on my daily cars, 'cos eibach springs and standard dampers have always seemed the best compromise for daily driving on cr4ppy british roads!
  11. Have to say that I went down to Zedworld having done an engine (and lots of other stuff!) swap on my car for a health check anyway even though I wasn't looking to raise the boost and was the most useful thing anyone other than me has ever done on my car! Well worth it whether upping your performance or not.
  12. That's crazy, how would you not notice that before putting the plenum back on? (not you Jeff just to be clear, rhetorical question!) Good post.
  13. Yay, great update bud glad to see it's coming along. I wish I had the patience to do such a comprehensive build....loving the plated bolts! everywhere
  14. Wow, access to that passenger side turbo is massively improved! Shame theres no mod that improve drivers side access too!
  15. Have you checked all you're capped/blocked bits on that diagram for leaks? Just a rubber nipple may not be enough, I tend to cable tie them on too as they can blow off under boost.
  16. Love these threads from you Jeff! Luckily this one doesn't apply to me......Slicktops FTW! lol
  17. This picture shows the blank in question better, stolen from elswhere on the forum so ignore labels!
  18. Anyone else have experience of these? I love that they're called 'well balance master' I would definately have kept these on the car if I was using it on the road they were a very good balance between handling and ride with adjustable damping
  19. Any Idea how much a set of Tein Type NA coilovers go for?
  20. I'd also like a confirmation on where it can go back in. Fitted a braided oil feed line a while ago that doesn't allow for the sender.
  21. English language is useless for making things clear! Wasn't gonna bother posting, but then remembered how gutted I am every time I do a long drive in my Zed and know one notices! lol
  22. Last Thursday on the A11, passed me in my girlfriends Focus heading towards Norwich. Looked nice bud. Did a 4 hour journey from Crewe to Norwich and was the best car seen on the journey! : )
  23. Have a good look round the engine bay and underneath. Pipe popped off?
  24. Had any work done by garages recently? under there between the exhaust and the propshaft/gearstick is a heatshield...which makes a surprisingly large difference. If yours is missing then the above symptoms are explained!
  25. that's nuts....and VERY lucky good work!
