  1. Mine are Autometer Ultralites as well, my temp gauge reads 65c which aint right.
  2. The temperature should be reading about 85c when hot, cant comment on oil pressure as I am still waiting for the rest of my oil pressure guage so I can get it working.
  3. Sounds like Dave doesnt even want to be an ordinary member of this club now, this is our loss and I am sure the breakdown in communication was for a reason but all I have read is how he is a top man, top products and top service and this is my opinion as well, no complaints about him and yet hes gone
  4. If you are looking at large items like engines why not speak to a shipping company, they usually have a groupage department where a few people that dont have enough to fill a whole container have their goods "grouped" together and loaded into a container in the dock yard, then they get shipped over and devanned in the destination dock yard for collection by the customer. Usually the cheapest way for large items from America but bear in mind customs will sting you.
  5. When I joined I caught the tail end of what happened with Jeff and Zedworld and with PHNW I know a little of the story, I also know that he wanted to subscribe and be a member still even if he couldnt trade and seems like there is a pattern emerging where if you fall out with the commitee then its goodbye, maybe we could hear both sides of the story as having dealt with Dave at PHNW all I can say is I think he should be on here.
  6. Last time I spoke to Dave he was hoping to remain with the club as an ordinary member, I know there was a dispute with him trading but its pretty sad if things could not be sorted so he could stay here to help us guys out when we need him for advice???
  7. As a biker I have been subjected to these checks but so far have not had to endure them wasting my time in the car, no doubt its only a matter of time now, I guess there is so little crime on our streets now they have to justify their jobs somehow, or is it just easier to stop a generally law abiding citizen than trying to catch someone that doesnt want to be caught???
  8. Seems like thats normal then, been out for a thrash tonight and 155F was where it stayed, cheers guys.
  9. :p thats not what he said though :p sensor is in the top rad pipe
  10. Gauge is fitted on the A pillar, I know the TT runs at about 85 celsius and thought the NA was about the same, any other NA guys getting this sort of reading?
  11. Hi everyone, if there is anyone out there that has an NA with an aftermarker temperature guage fitted can you tell me what temperature you car runs at, mine goes to 150 fahrenheit which is about 65 celsius and I thought it should be a little more than that so just wanted to check with you guys, cheers, Richard.
  12. The system can be pressure tested to check for leaks.
  13. And keep the heater on while doing this ;)
  14. Seems like you have covered most things, all I can think of is air in the system or sometimes the neck on the rad is worn and the cap doesnt seal proplerly.
  15. Oh yes, Carole Nash, I paid £230.15 for Classic Insurance, 6000 miles per year including European travel, breakdown recovery and agreed value, policy has a £250 excess, it was by far the best I could find and beat Houghtons, who at the time were out club insurers by over £100 and they didnt have the extras to go with it. Number is 0800 298 5555
  16. If its any help to you I believe I have a greddy one which I can send you so your garage can finish the job then when you get the replacement off Chris you can send it to me.
  17. I dont know the rules that the club has about trading on here but I am sure I am not the only one that see's this as a loss for the club, Dave is helpful, knows what he's talking about and always has good prices on the items he sell's.
  18. Ahhh, the old oil debate thread again  I think I read somewhere that this is what Zedworld uses, I personally use Millers 10w60.
  19. I doubt theres many Golf GTIs that could keep up with her. I find mine to be fairly dosile and easy to drive when its a normal go to work day, but push the gas pedal a bit more than usual and it goes and the fun begins.
  20. Well I recently had my bodywork done not by your good selves I would hasten to add and the main thing I wish they had done was keep in touch with me, a 2 week job turned into a 2 month job but at no point did they ring and tell me, I ended up ringing or going in there everyweek to check progress.
  21. I can understand you want a TT, but back to the Golf?????
  22.
  23. Shouldnt supra be on the swear filter???? sure it looks lovely mate, get subscribed and show us some pictures then.
  24. That was serious, ive been in the pub all afternoon  I guess it could be a piece of trim rubbing behind there, take the glovebox out and have a look, its easily removed.
  25. A frog is squatting in your pride and joy mate, get him out or charge him rent ;)
