  1. I acquired a garage full of random gear the other year, which included a £1k+ Spanish guitar in the most amazing condition possible, 10x £900 leather conference chairs, a conference hearing aid kit which I shipped off to Oz for £400, a drumkit (£90), an old-school projector & some films (£300 to Ireland), a £5k kiln, a grand's worth of studio gear & musical instruments and a grand's worth of office equipment/furniture. In a similar acquisition I ended up with a 15t press (£250) and about £1k's worth of tools and Audi gear (inc. a 2.4 V6 engine & box). People can be in a real hurry to 'do one' sometimes. Suits me just fine :D
  2. I used PlatiDip on mine and was impressed with the results. I could be interested in your silver Zed as it is, or with all the goodies removed :)
  3. I wouldn't let someone at Halfords change my Magic Tree, let alone bulbs where bumpers & headlights need removing
  4. Looks mint :thumbup1:
  5.  Now that sounds like waaaaay too much work to me!
  6. Hahaha  They are the best pound for pound mod you can get nowadays. Not so much before people realised boost jets were just welding tips though :D Where access is available, I have been known to shim the odd actuator for the same result. That's even cheaper!
  7. Not much cheaper than an MBC which gives you full control. Boost jets are soooo 1990's :tt2:
  8. All the best!
  9. Nice spec list going on there, going to be a beast!
  10. Welcome! Looks like a nice Zed you have there :)
  11. Why are you fitting an AFC? It's not a great idea to control fueling with an SAFC/AFC, but it's fine for monitoring purposes (which you won't have on yours being an AFC). Settings from one car won't necessarily work on another. Make sure you have a wideband sensor & gauge/logger fitted to monitor AFR if you are going to make adjustments, or do it on the dyno. Bear in mind that when you make adjustments to fueling, you are fudging the MAF (load) signal to the ECU, which in turn will have other effects due to the ECU accessing a different load site to what it should be (timing...). Piggyback controllers such as the SAFC, Unichip, FCD & speed limiters etcs are only really necessary on cars with unlockable ECUs (eg. Toyota Starlet/MR2/Supra) where the only option currently for control is a full standalone EMS. They really have no place on any 90's Nissan unless for monitoring - I used to have a black SAFC2 in my S13 because it looked nice and showed me airflow% on a big display :)
  12. 200ZX & Pulsar MAFs are completely different in design to the GTR & Zed units. The biggest in size is the Q45 Maxima MAF which is 90mm.
  13. 300ZX is 80mm fitting, SR20DET AFMs are 65mm, pretty sure CA18DET are the same. This is the ID of the pipe attachment, not the ID of the MAFs themselves.
  14. That's just sad. A waste of a good car. £13k.... Wow.... Best thing about it are the £5 car mats. Just plain nasty from every angle.
  15. Definitely not thousands! Have a look here: http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?166251-General-Mapping-Information-Please-Read and here: http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?166250-300zx-ECU-Mapping-Services I would obviously include checking your current chip as part of the service.
  16. Not the kind of chips I can help you with there I'm afraid
  17. Not much difference in price between that and a real Zed nowadays
  18. Think you saved me a lot of time there matey! Still, will be very nice when it's all done :thumbup1:
  19. I always wanted a MK2 XR2, but only ever had a MK3 XR2i. Although the second car I ever owned was a MK2 1.4S in white. I loved that car, we used to have so much fun in it. First vehicle I ever clocked 100mph in (it seemed a lot back then)!
  20. Current cars are in my sig, more info on them here: Pulsar & MR2 I'm sticking with the Zed, Pulsar & MR2, having finally found 3 Japanese nutters from the 90s that tick all the boxes for me. Although I would like an Evo3 RS at one point next year. I hate the Toyota, it's just so good at what it does (launching) and is so heavily modified I can't bring myself to get rid! Plus, it's impossible to get anywhere in the 4WD class in drag racing without a dedicated pit-crew and unlimited funds, so RWD it is!
  21. Works with Consult cars. Pretty cool.
  22. Hello & welcome :thumbup1: Bad deal with the loss of parts though :mad2:
  23. Heh heh
  24. That's what I'll be going for :)
  25. "Unbelievers" I have analysed many hundreds of EPROMS too (after which they get binned...), from all of the mid 90's Japanese cars (Z32/Skyline/S13/Swift/Evo1-3 etc, as well as from most reprogrammable ECUs out there) and 30% of the Nissans have not been reprogrammed using the stock EPROM. I'm guessing the 300ZX is different to all the others. I have, however, dealt with a great number of blatantly chipped ECUs from the far East, where no one was clearly concerned about the Japanese authorities :) Regardless, if the OP looks at the rear of the ECU, or even better posts a couple of pictures on here we will be able to tell if the stock chip has been removed or not.
