What was your speed? I'll be at Pod a lot this year, but mainly in the MR2. There's not too much I can do to the Zed without pulling the engine for bigger turbos. For now I'll just fit bigger injectors, FMIC and increase the boost until the turbos get tired and then replace them.

Not had it rolling roaded yet, but given the 110mph and weight of the car, I'd expect 370 bhp at the flywheel. My old S13 used to hit 114mph with circa 350bhp (1.1 bar low boost, 1.7 bar was 383bhp@hubs) and that weighed 1050kg.

Were you in a white Zed? Mr Blackett was telling me there was a white Zed running before I got there. Didn't get there until 2.30pm. Best time of the day was 13.17s @ 110mph. Very pleased given that I could only manage a 2.3s 60ft with 225/16 on the rear. Wasn't allowed to do any more runs after the 110mph trap due to needing a helmet. Didn't take one 'cos I didn't think I'd need it :w00t: Not bad for an Auto. My MR2 will have a lot to live up to when it breaks cover in Feb :2guns:

It's mainly that the timing is more advanced in the midrange to the top end, at certain points up to 6 degrees. The fueling is slightly richer from 3200-4800rpm on load, but it's mainly identical, although there are small variations across the range and the different markets. The scary thing are the Jap aftermarket ECUs. They ramp the timing up across the entire map, based on the JDM tune. I have a C20 map from years ago that came in a TT ECU with a 11k RPM rev limit :blink: The worst example of this is with GTRs though, incredibly advanced and very lean... The reason for a lot of dead engines :ohmy:

Thanks :biggrin: The Soarer is all mine, it replaced the Forester as my daily. The previous owner before last had it for 13yrs, it's done about 80k and apart from a couple of marks, it's like a brand new car. The MR2 is waiting patiently for me to fit my GT35R to it :hammer:

Yeah, it's very dented. Going to try some heat on it. Failing that, new rear bumper. It's Jap spec, 41P13 ECU, so a fair bit more advanced in the mid range than Euro ECUs, but I didn't boot it once (until after the Shell garage!). I was grateful that it makes such a good cruising machine. Been hunting around for reviews from the 90s, and it's such a highly-regarded car, I feel quite special :lol:

Wow!! I must have been on the hunt for Z32 MAFs for my S13 and Z32 ECUs to modify back in the the day. That's got to be some kind of record: 8 years, 2 months of no-post lurking :wack: Been a looooong time Nissan Fanboy, managed to wring out 383bhp & 326lbft @ hubs from my internally-stock CA18DET S13 many moons ago. Always wanted a Zed, but just never got round to it. Finally got myself a '92 JDM Twin Turbo Auto. Went up to Newcastle to buy a Soarer 2.5TT, and met with a Zed owner from Dundee ("sheppy" on here, also an MR2 Turbo owner - our cars were both on IMOC) and did a straight swap for my Subaru Forester T/tb. In the dark. In the rain. Guess we were both really keen to get rid :lol: My mate got the Soarer and I got to drive the Zed back 180 miles back down to Leicester, and absolutely loved it. Feels like a much smaller car than it is. Somehow managed 32mpg on 95RON, which was the only petrol we could find in Newcastle before we ran dry. Cruise control set to 75mph. I have no idea how it managed it. Happy with it so far, and along with my Soarer & MR2, I have all bases covered. I've already given it a little tune up with twin HKS filters, boost increase to 16psi & one of my chips. Tightened up the throttle & CC cables, adjusted the TPS, set the base idle properly, cleaned the MAF (it was FILTHY!) and swapped a dead PTU for one off my Skyline and relocated it. The next task performance-wise is to fit a NIStune board and get mapping in real time, burning chips is so 2003 :biggrin: Here are my weapons of mass consumption, full of V Power on the way home from Newcastle to Leicester: Shamelessly nicking pics from various places: For those that may be interested....
