I think they're 4-bolts, assuming he's bought them off the same guy I was chatting to recently on FB.

Dodgy seller, first thing I noticed was he states he did it all himself.

Oh, I've got plenty of V-Bands, but I definitely wouldn't consider cutting & shutting an exhaust just to make it V-band!

Ten Of The Best! TOTB14: 25-26th July 2015
Are you competing? I'm going to be there Friday night, and try and make sure as many cars I've worked with are in as rude a health as possible. I want my name on a top 3 car this year :wack: Still can't believe I had to map mine up the A46 & A1 on Sunday early afternoon last year. There'll be proper trackside support* for Turbonoz'd cars this time round, can't wait :D *You'll need to be stickered up and you'll need to be fast though :2guns:

I haven't sniffed around any other forums yet so unsure of what the competition is looking like. Let's get a list going to begin with: 1. Jaffa 2. Noz 3. Iangreenfield 4. (adl)phoenix 5. Slick Pete 6. Mikey 7. Bobgenie 8. 9. 10.

AFR gauges and position
They're on loan from Jaffa, helped me through TOTB last year they did! I've got to give them up soon, so I will be back to regular flange.

Watch!!
I am a big watch fan. I have a penchant for fancy ballpoint pens as well, but I resist the urge to start collecting. I did give in a few years back when a very rare Citizen Astrodea by Hideo Uehara came up for sale complete with loupe, box & papers, hopeless Japanophile that I am :wack:

AFR gauges and position
10° above the horizontal is the recommended minimum angle, perpendicular to the flow of course. I've placed them at 0° with no adverse effects.

AFR gauges and position
Too close, temperatures are too high in that position for aftermarket widebands. A good place is on the bend of the downpipes (as in the decat section, not the turbo elbows where the OEM sensors reside). Easy to feed the cable into the cabin, not subject to condensation, lots of room to work with.

AFR gauges and position
On turbocharged applications, you do not want them in the stock O2 sensor positions.
-
Looming Rebuild parts advice...
You need two O2 sensors. I personally wouldn't bother with the knock sensor, you'll be running it on 99RON and a specified boost level with a 40% increase in power & torque over stock levels. Put the money towards a proper knock detection system. As you've said, stave off buying the piston rings & bearings until you know which sizes you require. Get in touch when you remove your injectors as I supply full injector rebuild kits including pintle caps which you may damage upon removal :D

Red Z project.
Saw that on Gumtree the other day :)

oh boy how my mind works.
With dual MAFs: Typical ECU single intake tune, ADD setting, 600bhp. Remapped ECU dual intake tune, AVG setting, 1200bhp. This is the same as a dual intake, single MAF, just costs a lot more.
-
oh boy how my mind works.
Actually, scratch that. With the Selin you can get over 600bhp using the AVG function and 2 MAFs, which would eliminate any idling issues. All depends on how the ECU is programmed.
-
oh boy how my mind works.
No, it was purposefully 600bhp for dual MAFs. The only way dual MAFs are implemented is in a voltage adding* format. This is simply to make idling & cruise operation nice & simple. Once the air flow requirement goes north of 600bhp, you can only measure HALF the airflow entering the engine with the stock MAF, hence a maximum voltage readout corresponding to 1200bhp (roughly). *with an ECU originally mapped for a single intake.

Ok, I've gone through this again, and I think I know what you mean, specifically. You have described a basic single intake set up. With 2 air filters on a Y-pipe pre-MAF. See this post, made an hour ago: http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?179909-Dual-air-intake&p=1853589&viewfull=1#post1853589 In basic terms: Single filter, single MAF, single intake: Basic set up, standard intake restriction, 600bhp max Dual filter, single MAF, single intake: Basic set up, standard intake restriction, 600bhp max Dual filter, dual MAF, dual intake: Advanced set up, low intake restriction, 600bhp max Dual filter, single MAF, dual intake: Advanced set up, low intake restriction, 1200bhp max No filter, single blow-through MAF, no intakes: My set up, minimal intake restriction, 2000bhp(?) max (different MAF to stock) :wack:

tuning advice.
That's true, but it's much easier not to take it to a garage that has no respect for your property :wack:
-
tuning advice.
Switchable maps are only required when running methanol/water injection, nitrous or for a 95/99 RON option etc.

tuning advice.
New style yellow 615cc injectors are fine at that power level. It can be done on a single MAF as well, but dual intake is always recommended. Forged pistons may be required, or at least highly advisable depending on usage & longevity requirements, as well as the current state of the engine. 613bhp on GTX2860 at 1.6bar. YMMV.
