  1. The car seems grrrrrrrreat. Hmmm, that Ford Ka he's advertising looks strangely like a Zed....
  2. I had mine to over 456bhp & 481lbft before it gave up. Lots of dyno time & trips up the drag strip.
  3. Some good general pointers, but it's a 10 year old guide with some very outdated information: 15psi on stock turbos does not equate to 340-370rwhp, plus stock injectors are perfectly fine for much higher boost levels, only requiring an increase in fuel pressure when dual intakes & 2.5" pipework are employed along with 25psi.
  4. Grey hairs are a luxury, pulled all my hair out many moons ago!
  5. O2 sensors on the 300zx are a huge waste of time worrying about. They're an emissions device incorporated to force a stoichiometric combustion at which point the cats (that we've all still got religiously fitted, of course) operate at their optimum resulting in happy tree huggers everywhere. Massive waste of time. They don't work well in Zeds. Originals fail, replacements fail, aftermarkets fail, genuine ones fail. Nissan O2 feedback control is about 27yrs old, with AFR wandering between 14 to 15:1. My '05 WRX is pegged at 14.5:1 AFR during closed loop. With open-loop mapping you can program the AFR to whatever value you want. Rich idle gives a smoother engine operation, lean cruise is better on fuel at the expense of higher Nitrogen oxide emissions, resulting in sad tree huggers everywhere. I did used to recommend fitting new O2 sensors, but given the apparent nose-dive in material quality, about 60% of Zeds are now mapped with the O2 sensors disconnected. Humongous waste of time.
  6. Mark: I've been through this in full here: http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?179794-bhp-question That should answer all your queries in full. Anything you're not sure of, let me know :)
  7. I've got all the tools for early Motronics & ME7 so everything really. Just waiting to sort out a new dyno so I can spend a lot of time on R&D. Here in the UK, we don't go by Stages for Zeds. Air filter, cat back, boost increase (15-16psi) and a map will net you 370-380bhp.
  8. Worrying about O2 sensors is a massive waste of time.
  9. On a budget: GSP600s FMIC 555cc injectors AEM 320lph fuel pump Nistune BCR8ES spark plugs Full exhaust system Air filter Not on a budget: T28, GT28R, GT28RS FMIC 555cc injectors AEM 320lph fuel pump Nistune BCR8ES or BKR8EIX spark plugs Full exhaust system Air filters 2.5" IC pipework Dual intake
  10. Hello & welcome :) Nice Volvo, I've been looking to get into the Swede mapping side of things (along with T5/T7 Suite for Saabs) for some time now.
  11. Happy Birthday :pint:
  12. Just as I thought. Although I can't be 100% based on that picture alone, I think you're going to be chasing your tail forever on this one. Got any more pics of the engine bay? Both sides?
  13. £1k for that?! It's worth nothing as a car, it's only worth money in parts in that state, and at £1k with ChinaMAF, mouldy interior, poorly box, NA engine & appalling paintwork, it would take a while to make the money back. I've bought TTs in much better condition for less money and still it's been a more viable proposition to break them & keep the good parts. Crazy!
  14. Post a picture of your engine bay.
  15. Single outlet exhaust will require just one wideband sensor, but that obviously won't measure any discrepancies between the two banks.
  16. All that will have been done when he took it for a health check. What is the spec of your car? How much boost are you running? What do you intend to use it for?
  17. Thought it was given a clean bill of health?
  18. The question is: Would it be possible to complete the job with the fan removed? Bearing in mind this takes about 4 minutes.
  19. About time too :wack: How's it going? I keep expecting updates via text, but it's been quiet for some time :hammer:
  20. That is probably why you have low compression. Aftermarket JDM ECUs are not programmed to be used in the UK. Would have been knocking (detonating) loudly I'd expect. How long was it run for?
  21. Yes, there are four such days this year. There have been for many years now. Check out the Santa Pod website.
  22. Trailer :wack: Single MAF can measure up to 620bhp. Dual MAF can measure twice that. Dual intake reduces turbo inlet restriction by allowing both turbos to have their own supply of air. Short dual intake has even less restriction. Dual intake means power can be made more easily.
