South Coast Christmas Dinner
Hi guys Who would like to join me for Christmas dinner at the Red Lion at Chalton, near Waterlooville on Friday 13th of December at 1900? This isn’t a car meet (however is a venue I’ve used for meets before, is a wonderful pub and somewhere I intend to set a few meets up in the summer) but a gathering for us South Coast members to say goodbye to 2019. Partners are more than welcome and I may be able to arrange accommodation for those who might be interested in an over night stay. Please list your name here. Names will need to be placed by Friday 15th so I can make the reservation. Chris

Least we forget
I also took part in our local procession and service in Havant driving my appliance and laying a wreath. It was great knowing my two little boys (Archie 5 and Benjamin 2) were watching somewhere in the crowd. It was their first time at the event and I think Archie has started to understand what the day is about.

Would you buy a front shock from this
I don’t think that’s a head print there Tony. From my experience head prints tend to leave hair and blood around the dent.

Project Dittohead Red
I will reiterate what Andrew said. It’s your car and your time to spend with that car, we have precious little time, enjoy it! And I too am really looking forward to the build. :cool3:

eBay refund going to PayPal?
Hi guys Can someone please explain how or why a refund from an item I brought on eBay is getting refunded to my paypal account? I paid for the item via my bank card and have been told I will be refunded to my “PayPal balance”. I don’t use paypal. :confused1::confused1: Chris.

Hello all,
The car is looking great mate. It would be nice to see some pictures of the under side. How’s the engine clean coming along? I’ve recently been cleaning mine up. It’s a long thankless task but it will be great to know, when everything is bolted back down again, that all the metal work will be better than new and will be clean enough to eat your dinner off. Great fix with the switch. As for the “99 spoiler, I think it works if you go for a “99 front bumper. If you’re not thinking of replacing the front then I would stick to the early spoiler.

Hello from The Netherlands!
It’s so nice to see lots of pictures of a quality 300zx. In my opinion we don’t post enough picture of our cars, it would be great to see a load of detailed pictures of other members cars just like you’ve posted. Thanks for sharing.

Hello from The Netherlands!
I’m with you there, best vert I’ve seen. Did they produce the vert in the “98+ spec?

Hello from The Netherlands!
Have you taken the bumper off yet? That section of the bumper is secured by two nuts. The fixed bolts are attached to the wing, they go through two holes in the bumper then a metal bracket, you fix and tighten the nuts which pulls that part of the bumper close to the wing. I’ve attached a picture of my bumper and bracket to give you an idea of what I mean. I can think of a few reasons it might not be sitting flush. 1, Someone has not tightened these two nuts up or the nuts are missing so it’s not been pulled flush to the wing. You can check this by removing the indicator light fitting to look for the nuts. 2, The bumper and/or metal bracket went bent when the bumper was last removed. The culprit didn’t notice until they put the bumper back and couldn’t be bothered to remove the bumper again to straighten. 3, The wing where the fixed bolts are fitted has been bent out when the bumper was last removed. Again it went in noticed until the bumper was refitted and the previous owner couldn’t be bothered to remove and rectify the problem. Unfortunately if it’s reason 2 or 3 you’re going to have to remove the bumper to have a proper look which will take a bit of time, around 45 minutes. I found this video helpful...

Thanks Andrew. The compound I’m using is Autosol. The polished area was rubbed down with various grade wet and dry paper then hand polished. I’ve removed the sticker but will get these reproduced when I’m finally happy with the finish. The man housing was wire brushed with the Dremel and Autosol, then buffed with a microfibre cloth. I’m going to invest in a different type of buffing wheel for the Dremel as I think that can be better. The metal pipe work was done the same way as the main housing but I’m far from happy with that finish and will try something else.

Nothing too exciting going on at the moment. I’ve priced up a load of plating and powder coating and will send that off next week. What I’ve mainly been working on is continuing to clean the HICAS unit. It’s taking a long time but I’m starting to see the results.
