  1. They’re absolutely awesome cars. I describe it as a wrecking ball that can go round corners. The power is effortless and just keeps coming without any drama and for a 1.8t vehicle it’s surprisingly good round the twisty bits. The only real problem they have is that they are furiously expensive to keep in tip top condition. I’m budgeting £3.5k per year to stay on top of things. Ive been driving around in a vehicle that I’ve had no interest in for a year now and felt now was the time to get something interesting again. I nearly went down the M6 route last year but couldn’t find the colour i liked. Glad I waited now. ??
  2. Correct. ? 2005, C5 RS6, 86k on the clock, wonderful service history and in a great colour.
  3. 13 questions left.
  4. I’ll start giving clues after I’ve won. ?
  5. Can’t help I’m afraid mate but can you do me a favour and take a picture of the type of screws and their location. I played all mine but forgot to take pictures of which ones went where and now I’m not 100% sure where they all go. ?‍♂️
  6. I thought it might be fun to play a game of 20 questions to guess my new daily driver. Who wants to ask the first question?
  7. I do, thanks for the advise Andrew. ? Thanks Richard. I might have to put a list together for Jim to price up. ?
  8. 6 flashes, right front rotor sensor circuit. Im assuming this is the ABS sensor. Anyone have previous experience changing these? I’ll go and try to find a how to. ?
  9. Thanks Richard. I’ll get on that next time she comes out the stable. ?
  10. Any ideas why the ABS warning light would be on and how to test for possible issues. The cars been in the air for 9 months with the battery disconnected and there wasn’t an issue before it went up. To the best of my knowledge I haven’t touched anything to do with the brakes and the car passed its MOT yesterday (the light may have been on yesterday as you can hardly see the warning light in the bright sun). The fluid level is spot on and the ABS fuse in the engine bay is fine. The car also drives fine and brakes well although I obviously haven’t hit them hard enough for the ABS to need to kick in. Thanks, Chris.
  11. Thanks Craig, turns out there wasn’t an issue.
  12. Anyway, back to today... Car passed. A few issues raised... Near and offside anti roll bar links corroded but not serious. Read disc worn, pitted or scored but not serious. Im a little gutted with this one as the discs aren’t bad at all, they’ve just got a little surface rust due to be left in the air for 9 moths while I worked on the front and I didn’t clean them off on the way to the test as it’s just a two mile drive to the test centre. Never mind, will change these too. It was also also noted that there was a little oil coming from the diff plug. Again will get this sorted. All in all I’m very happy to have the car back on the road after 9 months tidying her up.
  13. Just bolting the chameleon back together for it MOT on Tuesday. ? Here are a few pictures of the before and after for you amusement...
  14. Hi guys I can’t find the emissions flow chart to exempt our cars. Has anyone got it please just in case the mot tester gets funny? Cheers, Chris.
  15. Great news, that’s what the forums all about. What I would suggest is that you pick a small area and work your way around the engine. I had a plan and didn’t stick to it and almost became very lost. And don’t forget to start a journal. ??
  16. I finished of the light refurb today and bolted on the newly powder coated tin work and plated screws. They’re not perfect, I would like to have split them and rechromed the internals but that will have to wait. Hope you like the before and after pics...
  17. So that was easier than I thought it was going to be. I also tried cleaning the inside of the glass but I’m unhappy with the results. However it will do for now as I want to rebuild the front end ready for an MOT later in May.
