injector problem
Whats the voltage reading accross the injector plug and can i test the injector for resistance as well? I have the same problem with No. 4. I need a new loom really as it's all really brittle and suspect this is the case but hoping for a dodgy connector or injector really as it's a lessor job than the loom! Have tested for Spark and it's fine.

Thorny subject "tyres"
With any provocation in the wet i think most tyre brands with some used tread will be tail happy!(unless a true winter/wet tyre) I've always found them ok right down to the limit and mines a TT and does get 'driven' occasionally! Based on some of the guys putting part worns on, I think makes the point that some people will run with less tread as some people get rid well before the 1.6mm limit starts to get close! Somebody commented on my old for sale post on my stock wheels once about the value for money i got from one of my last sets comments like 'Are those lewis Hamiltons tyres' etc!

Thorny subject "tyres"
I have to say that mines no longer a daily runner, so i'm not sure about long term milage wear anymore, but i i've been running Nexen N2000 on the rear and fronts for a long while now even when she was a daily driver. I must have had 3/4 sets in the last couple of years that she's become a wekend car and found them to be a good all round tyre. They also look ok and not like teh usual cheap and nasty foreign brands that are out there. They're about £85 a corner too so even if they're not as good as a branded trye you've enough to look at another set...

Brake upgrade?
I'm sure a engineering shop could knock up a couple of brackets for you. I'd get hold of a couple of big brake upgrade brackets as a startinig point. 4 pot calipers from AP have got to be better than stock 2 pot calipers, but depends on their size really....Not sure about the discs as it's then more of a fitment issue rather than size, so not sure what you'd be saving over an existing upgrade kit though ...Talk to AP's about disc fitment first if i were you.. Just had a nose a realise they do a kit for the Z now anyway! http://www.apracing.com/info/products.asp?product=Nissan%2D+300ZX+%2D+Front+6+Piston+Kit+CP5555T1000_1685_1054

Car Pulling to the Right
Power sterring fluid low? Could be air in the system somewhere? As it's been idle all winter i'd top up the PS fluid and then jack the nose up and with both fronts off the floor and the car running (to run PS Pump) do a couple of rotations to the left and to the right and then lower and check the PS fluid again. Other than the obvious tyre pressures etc with it being sat doing nothing all winter and my limited knowledge i'd do the above first..

What newspaper do you read...?
Mainly broadsheets during the week i.e Times, Guardian and Telegraph but i'm biased toward the Daily Telegraph (or Torygraph as Lampy put it - Ha ha made me laugh) and then i'll mix a couple at the weekend with a tabloid for good measure! Mainly the Daily Telegraph though, as it's remained truly broadsheet but also as its well written and based on well researched news articles which is the same reason why i'll focus on BBC news on-line rather than other sites. The sport section is also well written though and is wide ranging and not just football which i'm not into at all. I'm no right winger and read the Telegraph with this noted bias in mind though! However, with the left wing pap that gets banded around the tabloids, i believe it's easier to define the middle ground from and i take nothing at face value anyway. I also read the local papers once or twice a week as well as the Western Mail to keep abreast of National Welsh Issues and state of the local and Welsh economy etc I'd prefer to read the news with a cuppa and rather buy a paper and have a read in the car with my sarnies than read on-line at my desk at lunchtimes during the week...Just something i prefer and hope that the printed press will continue as i'd hate to have to log on and read the news all the time as it's just not the same or as relaxing. You can also come back to a paper article and read it again for a different viewpoint following the television news. I also tend to read either later in bed, which is what i'll do at the weekends, if i don't get a spare hour to sit and read during a sunday if i'm working, and i do this to close the week off before going to sleep (or on the loo sometimes!!) read into this what you will if you'll pardon the pun..!!

Parking Fine- advice please.
Just write back and say that you were not even parked in that street at that time and you can prove it. That'll confuse the hell out of them!! If it were private, then i'd say just ignore it then and tell them you paid the £35 on X date if goes to court. It'd get thrown out anyway, but for that amount is hardly likely to go to court. Council is different though and they have more rights. Also, if it's your own local council they'll have you on file for council tax etc as well... I would ignore it though and it might go away. if another demand letter arrives, say that you've been in Austrailia for 3 months and then appeal to them on the grounds that you paid what was asked 3 months ago and thought it was a fine for the same ticket again! Hardly likely to bother chasing you for it really and are just chancing their arm for the sake of a letter thinking your loaded and will just pay it maybe! read my recent insurance post...I e-mailed them back asking for more info and now their £20 demand has suddenly faded into the background...

Parking Fine- advice please.
\IS this the council or private firm? If private wait for the DVLA letter and write back saying that they need to pursue the driver and you are unsure who was driving that day. No responsibility to supply the drivers name to a private firm. If it's council there are different rules and it could be points and a fine for non-disclosure as with speeding, but chances are if the road name is wrong and you were unsure who was using the car as it's been so long then it'll be thrown out of court if it got that far. do a search on the net for get outs. I had a private one before chrimbo for parking in a supermarket and not using the store...just waiting on the letters if i can be bothered. However, I have tried the excuse with my local council once that i had a migraine and it was unsafe to continue driving, so i parked the car up at the earliest opportunity. I realised this was illegal, but it was all i could do in the interest of saftey to other road users. I called a friend to collect the car when i arrived at home/work, but by the time he got to it the ticket was already issued... Somebody told me to try this as he had done it and sure enough i got off on appeal!!! Just depends on whether you want to admit guilt and chance your arm, or try any play the system if it's a council ticket...

Mongol Rally
Fancy this myself at some point, but with an Aus trip imminent it could be a couple of years away now. My mates also fancy the Plymouth - Dakar which is in a similar vein i think...car for less than £500 and you donate it the other end...

Golf Mk 4 - Lowering Springs
Cheers Matt Was just going to do the springs as my stock Nearside Front has gone. I'm only going to be keeping her another few months and was going to go slightly lower rather than stock. Was he ride really that bad on stock Shocks? I'm only looking at 35-45mm really as those in the know tell me that all the 60mm drops handle crap and have to be constantly re-tweaked? The other reason is that i use her like a van occasionally and throw a few bags of sand and a couple of building blocks in the boot for the other house im doing up so can't go too low! Was yours dropped 60mm??

Norwich Union Barstewards
your age is the main factor Jake and UK V's JDM spec....Mine is a UK car and i'm 34. My policy was around £380 fully comp with declared mods after a re-build last year... before that about £280!....It'll get cheaper when your 25/26+, but most will be high even on a UK spec car at your age i'm afraid!
