  1. Looks like two tubs of carrot soup from tescos!!
  2. mine does this. one notch to bring on the light and she stiffens up...the car that is!
  3. Seen whilst i was sat outside the Kings head helping the locals get rid of their real ale!!
  4. Welcome bud. I'm up teh road in Llantwit major and there are a few more of us nerarby! Get subscribed and look up teh Wales section! I'm not going but i think the guys are meeting in Llandow this Sunday to watch the drift championship open...I'm popping down sat to watch the real boys play if you want to hook up!
  5. Who the hell would want an old pair of cats anyway? Read between the lines at least!!

Sunday is the 'open' championship....Saturday is when the real boys are playing!
  7. I just had a nose to see what you did! PLC's? Electronics...Don't forget you've probably got a wealth of knowledge that would be snapped up by other industries. getting others to work for you and subbing stuff is another option for the future then, but you don't get time to think about that, chasing your tail constantly, and as someone else just said you also spend more....even things like making your own lunch and having the time to do so of a morning, rather than living out of a bag in digs or hotel rooms mon to friday makes a big difference to your lifestyle and spending!!! Things have a way of working themselves out, but dont forget about yourself when chasing the money!! best of luck bud.
  8. Good position to be in on all counts, which means your skills are in demand and there are probably more jobs similar if you looked hard enough...I'd personally take the second and learn more skills. Use the additional spare time to set up on your own, and/or do additional work if you need more cash to fund your lifestyle.... Money isn't everything and a balance and time to rest and think has alot going for it! Belive me i know! I did two years contracting working away from home and earning 3 times what i'm on now, but had no life and came home at weekends (worked a few too!) to simply eat, sleep and recover then away again Sunday night or 5am mondays....Granted it paid for a second house but i've now taken a second option like you and am home every night and able to work on the car and do jobs on teh other house! If the first is what you need to do for money then do that, to get out of a hole or build up the cash, but set your goals again to get out after a period and look for another option 2. Richards words are also spot on...

You're defineatly losing sleep Bud!! No rolling road, but was trying to get a meet where we could give him a couple of quid and use his ramps for a few hours to sort issues or problems or have a general nose underneath and get the waxoyl out!!! See attached!

Just looked at this track again http://www.llandow.com/calendar.htm as i've not viewed it for a while and it's been resurfaced and is relatively cheap to book exclusively...If we had 20/30 people (i know we struggle for 10 cars in Wales!) but at £1200 plus vat for a Tues/wed/thurs plus Medical Cover supplied at the following rates: . Paramedic £150.00 (inc. VAT) each per day . Ambulance £150.00 (+ VAT) each per day . Extra Marshals £30.00 each per day Got to be worth trying to arrange a wales/south west/southern region gathering ??!! For £100 each with enough of us we'd have the track to ourselves for the day.... Also seen this; Mon - Sat Half Day £120.00 £70.00 15+ Cars booking together Talk to Tony for a Discount... H'mmmm Will suss the track and post picks after the weekend!!!

http://www.llandow.com/calendar.htm August 23rd & 24th -Drfting Championships I'm going to pop over in the morning and attempt to get away about 2.30pm if possible as i'm double booked!!
  12. Sat is our meet at Llandow for some drift thing...see the 'Wales' section if you fancy it? I'd come over to junction 32, 3rd exit A470 all the way to Merthyr, Start of the beacons/heads of the valleys and back to A road...A470 to Brecon over the Beacons which is great...had our last meet on the top! You could stay on the A470 at Brecon, but a really nice road with great views and shorter distance (Have som pics i'll post up in a bit!) is the B4250 to Builth Wells (use this regularly for the Royal welsh showground from where i live) You could then stay on the A470 to Llangurig but if you want extra twisty then hop on the A483 on pop up to Newtown.... and then back over to Aberystwyth...Its all lovely up there either way.... ....Only problem is you've picked the worst weekend ever for driving!! Every man and his, bike, caravan, motorbike will be on teh roads this weekend, so i'd phone in sick tues, cancel you hotel until Tues & Wed and drive the roads then!!!! Welcome to pop into mine and there are beds available Friday night! I'm 8 miles from 32 or 4 miles from 34...I'm off canoeing the Wye on Sunday though as it's less congested and leaving sat afternoon!! PM me if you need to!
  13. If you can get me a couple of tons of bits off them, with the price of metal at the moment then you can sell it back to them:tongue:
  14. Get them to put the car in your name. Independant consultant and you use it for business. You also have another car your z and your mrs has one too and this should bring it down as you don't always use the audi ;-) ..As do i on my Golf...bit smaller but at £260 p/A it's a bit less than what you're being quoted!!... Why don't the firm cover it? How was your hols?
  15. Provided the bearings have been soaked in an oil bath before being built then this might be true....You can't beat the best of both worlds and apply some 'old school' thinking now and again in my opinion...
  16. Not while you're still part of this club you can't!!!!
  17. There was a thread regarding gearing...it mentioned "The best Mod is supposed to be an N/A box on a TT" as the gearing on an N/A Box is shorter and so 0-60 is improved, but the trade off is that you lose top end speed due to the shorter ratios...However one Vs the other will see a TT come out on top every time! Search for 'N/A rear diff on a TT' and you might find the thread i think you're talking about!
  18. Try adjusting base idle and TPS? do a search in the FAQ for how to and pics..
  19. Done a few smaller jobs myself and would suggest for teh sake of a bit of extra leccy that a 500/1000watt light warming the panel up that is next to be sprayed will help you a bit....
  20. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=350063741370 !!
  21. Who you calling Clownpants?!!

Bump! Anyone know the weight of the rears? or a rough idea with tyres on for courier prices?
  23. John, Have measured from the inner hub face and reckon on about 157.5mm (see pics 82&83) I also measured from the outer hub face less the thickness of the 'Z' plastic insert and this is about 235mm (see pics 80&81) Forgive the quality these are off my phone.
  24. You'll probably pay £9.99 from demon tweekes for the same piece of kit for 80pence from the chandlers though!!
  25. Do you have legal cover? RAC/AA Membership normally comes with this?? You need some form of legal representation to assist and advise...before that though all the insurance sharks will try and do is see what you will accept...Stick to your guns and ask them to put everything in writing so that you can pass it to your solicitor....
