When you say down pipes do you mean manifold to turbo? from turbo down, A Mongoose decat system is a straight swap replacement. With an additional cat-back exhaust it's easy to DIY....6 bolts (3 per turbo) on the front, and 4 bolts (two each) mid section, and some gaskets......DIY job if you can get the car on a ramp..I took mine to a garage with a lift and gave them £25 to swap my mid sections last week....

Ran my TDi golf for a while on 50% mix straight from the supermarket (when it was £1.25 for 3 litres!...strange how it doubled overnight!!) anyway it ran like a dream...in fact better. See my old posts!..Anything german will be fine others might need fuel pump tweaks. Since the price hike in oil i've not bothered as it's uneconomical... ..However their have been lots of heating oil thefts near where my folks live in West Wales and this was on the news the other night....I suspect that this is now the preferred choice for fuel theifs who used to drain deisel tanks and that it's these people rather than old folks trying to keep warm in the middle of summer!!! It's still cheap in comparison to veg oil and i have a mate who's tried it and it works well ;-) Recycled oil through a micron filter is the only way to go now with the hike in all oil prices if anyone has gone down this route then i want some advice on the kit so i can recycle from my local chippy and chinese who get charged to remove it....win win situation...

Tell him to buy assets next time...cars, gold.....anything that isn't paper for a start..I'm sure it wasn't stashed in pound coins??!!! ...imagine if a chip pan fire burn't the house down and the 60K went up in smoke instead of being stolen...This is beyond belief...
