RPS Street Sport is your best bet for value and performance....Remember to spend a bit extra £8/£10 on a new pivot ball when you fit any one though!!

red interior
Pity the steering wheel is on the wrong side as that is a mint motor and would be worth shipping!

Mirrors...
Are they all spray painted in the factory finish or moulded with a colour in the blend? Also is the outer trim removeable/swapable? As per my 'item wanted' post...i need to know if they're all sprayed or hold out for a gunmetal (faster:) )one.. I'm looking for a mirror......I need an offside/drivers mirror trim, (top part and outer edge surround or maybe the whole unit if you can't/won't split) ...Preferably gunmetal grey...someone rolled a van (pushing it down my mates street) into mine and cracked it this evening :-( let me know if you might have one... 07818 607568.

how can I test / check my TPS
clean the connectors is the first job if you've not already done so!

What a total cock
Be thankful it was a whhel and track rod and not a child...I think your brave to post it up fella and admit your misdemeanor... However as food for thought i'd edit it. Like most some other posts on here i'm always surprised how open some people are if anything ever happens to the car then this would be the first place i'd look as an accident investigator...The guy watering his plants might also have picked up the phone afterwards....food for thought?

wiper woes!!!!
Quick tip...get some RainX, clean your screen, and apply it...no wipers needed if you driving over 40mph!! It saved my neck a couple of times at higher speeds when they stop on the Z and is used on my golf at the moment as my rain sensor seems to stop them working on the odd occasion!!

good news (finacially)

Coughs and splutters in boost...
I'm not exactly sure what the problem was as I've re-done a few things, but Andy Duff's Advice about the TPS 'closed Throttle' was good and led me to clean all the connectors on this as they were a bit green and the clip on the TPS is broken, so could be causing connection probs (Got a small cable tie on this now). I also checked that the 'TPS closed' sensor opens and closes from idle when opening the throttle. After a clean up i re-checked (using Conzult) and all was OK. (out of interest if this was not working would it cause the throttle not to open properly causing air starvation at higher revs???) Anyway, I then re-set the TPS to 0.46V and then Base idle to 750rpm. TPS was at 0.42 and I've gone back to the advised .45-.5V Next was the timing. I was getting different readings from the timing using the PTU lead (open clamp) so I set the clamp around No.1 Cylinder (near oil cap) and (closed clamp) and re-set the timing. It was severely retarded to about 5degerees BTDC and off the markings. I adjusted the CAS with the engine off and re-starting a couple of times to get it to sit at 15 degrees BTDC at idle. Conzult now reads the same at idle and both conzult and the strobe light showed an advance to 30+degrees when increasing revs. Just come back from a bit of a blat and she's purring like a kitten again!! Thanks to all concerned for your helpful assistance, especially Andy for his helpful attention which pointed me in the right direction!..Roll on 29th June to Brecon!!!:hyper:

Coughs and splutters in boost...
Attached is the log file. As i previously suggested i think i now need to re-set TPS and Base Idle as per here. They were adjusted prior to timing, but the base idle was set too low i think and not brought up to 750 rpm. when you start is cold it sits about 500rpm. then when you blip teh throttle it idles at 1K. I say that base idle needs adjusting again, because when i ran the the power balance tests, (latter screenshots) i had to get the mrs to hold the revs at 2k as if i click these functions the car just cuts out. (normally it drops slightly then compensates when in these modes). Anyway, there is no screenshot as i had IT probs last night, but there are no fault codes. Excuse the spelling (I can't edit word on my main PC as i don't have office 97 installed!) Comments preceed each screen grab rather than after them..(Cant edit each one to move them next to each pertinent screenshot for the same edit reason!) Any advice much appreciated!

Coughs and splutters in boost...
cheers guys. was up to temp on all occasions. i ran the conzult ona win98 (old laptop) so now waiting to get my diagnostic output screenshots off a floppy onto my other laptop or PC as the old one won't recognise my usb stick (despite having a port!) and i dont have the stick drivers. will post results later but think i need to re-set TPS and BASE idle as when i attempt to run base idle 'adjustment' or 'drop test' off the conzult the car cuts out so base idle is way too low. will get mt results and comments posted later
