Dan, its never too late to clear things and if the past few hours of threads have done the job then that`s a good thing and I accept your apology and will of course reply with an apology from myself for not getting to the root of the left pull on your car, I do believe I`d already said this when you collected the car however, but really lets not go there, look its a warm sunny day and we all want the same thing, to enjoy owning your 300zx so have a cyber beer :pint: on me and take it easy Dan mate. Dan, you miss the point, you have added on the other thread what you felt was wrong with your car ( worn kingpin, abs sensor etc) and one wasted journey which despite you saying other wise I did mention in the original thread, but you have completely glossed over the fact you did not pay for any of the front suspension/steering/ sub frame change and tracking by virtue of the exact problem not been found and more over the threats of impending violence to both me and Lynda, for me that was the end game Jeff TT

Jeff at zedworld
Ok guys, always good to get any feedback and both sides, so Mistyblue 82 and Vijay I will reply to you in good time once I have gone over my paper work. However Dan 300zx I will respond to your post now as you are clearly looking for one. So to remind all here Dan`s post above is the reason I am filling in the blank bits here no other reason. Since our contact and meeting you, you have made little sneaky comments here and there and told your tale of woe to any one who will listen, BUT you have not told them what kind of customer your were (are?) Mostly everything we do is documented, be it with pictures or with written word, this starts at the beginning of any enquiry, even off the cuff telephone calls are logged as these can be of use when a working on any particular fault as any info helps. Your contact with us surrounded two major points, the slight pull (very ) to the left when taking your hands off the steering wheel and a cam belt replacement. Initial talks were based around the pull to the left, some suggestions from me were made and included changing the tyre`s, all of my suggestions made you said had already been covered and so needed deeper investigation, there was a few other things such as rear flex brake lines and see if water bottle could be relocated. With your zed in our garage a lot of time was taken up looking at the front suspension, the font steering components and the rear suspension and steering components, during this no obvious faults were found, no reason for the left pull ( slight) given the nature of tracking been a tricky one its was concluded that a laser tracking session would sort it out. The cam belt and other work was completed and paid for, however when we took the car for tracking it did not solve the pull to the left, when we spoke on the phone you were clearly disappointed and said you would not have had the cambelt done if the pull was not sorted..... this was when things changed, you will remember I am sure the phone calls been a little heated. Then you came up with a solution that we change every part of the front suspension and steering system with one from a breaker we had, uprights, legs, steering rack steering arms, tension rods, etc etc, I mentioned with parts and labour how costly it would come out near £600 but you wanted it done. So two days of stripping out yours and a breaker to change the parts over, and off for another laser tracking session, and horror of horrors still pulling to the left! At this time Lynda received a call from you and once informed what the situation was the conversation quickly descended into a tirent of abuse and swearing with Lynda eventually ending the call! she came to the workshop in tears, you rang again and I took the call, you continued the abuse to me, raving how I had not done the original job ( the pulling) and how I had wasted your money etc, still in shock myself from your ranting I said I would take all of the parts back off your car and return it to its original state. This is were you Dan upped the ranting, you stated that you were part of or friends with many door men from your home town and your would all come down and take us apart?? you continued to threaten both me and lynda and surprise I gave in allowed you to collect your car a few days later without paying me anymore money, you came down with the same attitude and whilst I met you and your "mate" on my own I was not sure how it was going to go but was happy when it had passed without incident. So later you mention loose bolts and abs sensor not tight, strange that I drove the 12 miles to the tracking company without issue, however I will just accept what your saying there, so forgive me if you think I am over reacting but I am not in any way happy with been physically threatened or accept Lynda should be subject to the abuse you gave her too, and in total all you actually paid for was the cam belt which was done fine with no issue but that is by the by, I do appreciate your time is money and one trip to collect was wasted also. What did later grieve me was your forum announcement that you had solved the pulling left by....changing the tyre`s!!! something I had suggested right at the start and was told it had already been done? and since then little jibs here and there and still I have said nothing, but Dan you wanted a response and here it is, do you honestly believe threatening with violence was the correct course of action? do I now have to live in fear of retribution from this honest post? I hate to get things even slightly wrong and do not get any satisfaction from a job or the customer not been happy, but it really is a two way thing, and with real complaints thankfully been a small part of our 14 years in business I must be getting the customer service right most of the time, not all I admit but some times you just cannot get 100% from the deal between owner and garage. Silly timing question
This should help, have put a red line through the crank center and used the 15 deg mark as reference. Jeff TT

whinning, roughness from drive train
As your previous posts were generally upbeat about the drive of the car ( except the noisy bearing) then assume all was ok after the conversion? prop balance will not of changed, so good bet the diff is giving some grief, try lifting the output shafts up and down to check the output bearings, did you have the clutch bearing done? TT power steering pump converted to NA
Not sure why you would go to the trouble of removing the pump and take parts out when re-routing the hicas feed pipe back in to the reservoir is all that is needed?? Jeff TT

more than likely it's the head gasket....
Hi Steve, just having a five minute break from a cambelt and rocker cover job, will pm you later with some best options for you. Jeff

Heating engineers
Assume the solid fuel boiler is a back boiler ( behind / build into fire place) if so depending on age its likely the hot water is just gravity and the heating pumped, now if as said, the hot water cylinder will be as close to above the fire as possible, usually in a bedroom airing cupboard. As the major connection parts of the heating system are with in the airing cupboard area the easiest location for the combi is where the old cylinder is, now this is subject to flue and ventilation requirements and getting a gas supply to that area, so this will need to be surveyed. The old system flow and return from the solid fuel boiler will rise up into to the airing cupboard and most likely on large 32 mm pipes that will need reducing down to meet up with a modern combi-boiler, as far as the hot water is concerned all you need to do is connect the hws output to the nearest hot tap supply that will of been previously connected to the cylinder, the cold water supply to the fill and expansion tank will either be sitting atop the cylinder or in the loft (depeding on the age of system), this cold water supply will need to be connected into the combi-boiler for flexi-link system fill and for the hws. Other things to consider is size of boiler ( btu rate) do not be tempted to skimp on a smaller output, always better for performance and economy to have a boiler that can easily supply a system with heat and hot water with out running full tilt all of the time, modern boilers are designed to get up to to temp and then not actually switch off but modulate the gas rate to the burner ( a bit like turning the flame down on a gas ring) and also ramp the speed of the pump up and down to help regulate flow/ heat rate this only works well if the figures have been done well, so add up your room size btu requirement based on the house material type, brick wood glass areas etc and when you have your total add 30%, also if you want to run showers from the hws check the hot water flow rate per minute, often cheaper compact combi`s cannot deliver constant hot water in Winter time to a shower or even to fill a bath but are ok for wash basins etc. Google for help with the system calculations or even ask your boiler supplier to work it out for you. - Injector wars!!
Well never done it, but have stripped engines down with them broken or and missing and were running before, I am guessing they are to just protect the pintle during installation. Jeff TT- Whoops !
Following a rebuilt engine from a small company with in house engineering cnc machining, heads and turbo rebuilding facility. Car was collected by the owner from said builder and around 60 miles later the following was discovered after an engine noise was heard and seem to be getting worse, the noise was semi metallic with a scrapping noise in time with engine speed. Culprit below. It was caught under the crank sprocket. Real worry is the "rebuilt" engine water pump was not replaced, did not bode well for the rest of the rebuild, however the engine had not been damaged. Jeff TT- Injector wars!!
Be careful with an impact driver, the thread tabs will bend down if you go too hard, the trick to removing the screws is a good fitting screw driver, a small rap on the head of the driver with a small hammer, now tighten the screw ever so slightly, this will crack the thread hold without compromising the screw head, then undo it the screw and it will undo unless of course the head has already been mashed .... Jeff TT- Le man accident
Horrific crash in free practice, Audi team driver looks to have suffered some injury but by some miracle not dead. "Loic Duval, driver of the #1 Audi R18 E-tron Quattro, suffered a massive crash today during free practice for the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Duval's car reportedly went off track backwards at high speed near the Porsche Curves and flew into the retaining fence. There is no video of the actual crash at the moment, the wall nearby the car appears unaffected" Jeff TT https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bDcOy45PVeI- anyone in Coventry?

Yes a simple mistake resulted in this. Jeff TT- Forged engine build + low oil+ high revs =
- Forged engine build + low oil+ high revs =
The resullts of little or non oil, long story but the end result of a mistake made by an apprentice most likely at oil change time:glare: Heavy knocking and no power, was transported to Zedworld by " the other garage" to see what the situation was, soon as it was run it was clear internal damage had occurred, so whip it out of the car and on to the engine stand for closer inspection. During the strip down it was found one turbo almost to tight to turn, once the sump was off the amount of side ways movement in no 6 bearing was huge!! and well the rest are well mincemeat!!! Jeff- Rear seat belts in JDM models.
Baby seat...lol- anyone in Coventry?
Cool, you have a contact name? or have you given them our contacts? Jeff TT - Injector wars!!
