  1. Remember one of the JAE meets at Billing and your organisation was first class Steve, pity those days have been relegated to history eh? Jeff
  2. Blimey Si you have hit it right on the head there fella!! Jeff
  3. Going on from my post about the poor quality of some or in fact a lot of used z parts been peddled on facebook and the like. Just seen these little gems, a couple of doors for the bargain price of £80 !! Not even wiped over with a camp cloth, rust at both mirror positions and crapped out rubber trims, I mean in real terms and the changes in cost of living that is more than I was selling perfect doors for 10+ years ago !! Jeff
  4. Mcclaren 750LT, wow ! Jeff
  5. Ok there are some seriously wealthy peeps here in the Algarve and some show it off and some just decide to not, recently made friends with a nice normal couple who have a large building company in the UK and he was talking about his son getting a new car and had decided to get himself and the wife a new car each too as he had crashed his last one and was waiting on the insurance. He returned to the UK to collect the cars last week and he just sent me a picture !! oh my god look at that trio!! the middle one is the son`s aged............... 31 yrs old !!!!!!!!! argh!!!!!!!!!!!!!! upshot is might get a ride in them yeh !! never even clicked the kind of stuff he was in to, feel a right tit now going on about zeds etc. Jeff
  6. What happens is the bushes that previously had voids in them full of a silicon type fluid ( now escaped ) now become compressed so the voids close up, but the collars are so designed they do not contact the subframe and body at the same time, that way the bush stays compliant and hence so no extra noise transmitted but a tighter control of the subframe location. Jeff
  7. Question, what is the most common collection of after market parts for the 300zx that owner`s struggle to either get good deals on, get quickly or find find it too much trouble to source? Would a zedpartscompare.com or zedpartsfinder.com be the answer maybe? Just asking.... Jeff
  8. Ok sorry I did not chip in earlier was sort of hoping the quick and easy answer would come but seems not, so the lights alert system is very, very simple and is carried out by a small relay box that some will know about that is in the loom by the rear light on the drivers side. The easiest way to stop the warning with the lights that are fitted is to eliminate the circuit through the lights out module, so basically link it out, side lights in and side lights out link and the same with brake lights in and out link, remove the power from the unit and all done no more lights out when braking and no need for load resisters etc. I will find the wiring diagram and post it later with the link out colours. Jeff
  9. Well said Gaz , right on the money!! Jeff
  10. Cheers matey ! Jeff
  11. Just looked on the JAE site for 2016 and wow has that got a dear game!!! £45 per person advanced tickets and an extra £15 per person if paying on the gate!! jeez so if there is a family of four in a single car paying on the gate that is £240 smackers !!! Jeez the nerve of the organisers` the show has dipped in quality year on year but the prices go up?? love how they are selling the tickets as 4 day event, so ok Thursday turn up and see nothing! Friday see some clubs and traders setting up, Saturday best day of the four, Sunday 12 noon everyone packing up ! how is that a four day event? The days of JAE at Billing Aquadrome with £15 entrance and a great venue are well gone, at these kind of prices I cannot see how it is viable attraction to clubs and club members, glad for you guys the forum made a great decision to meet at the Coventry Museum instead, such as shame the Z32 is not in big numbers here, now that would be a proper meet ! Jeff
  12. Well you do see old Fords etc around, not loads, saying that went passed a local car dealer yesterday and they have a Mk2 Cortina on the front, will swing back and take some pics and see what they are asking for it out of interest. Yes was great, UK plated car are officially only allowed to stay 6 months but many stop for much longer of course, a trip out of the country such as I do back to the UK circumvents the problem, I always make sure I get a ferry ticket or congestion charge ticket with the reg on. Registering any car onto Portuguese plates ( Matriculation ) is massively prohibitive as there is a 40% tax levy based on the car new price with no allowance for depreciation !! typically a 2002 shed Mondeo worth maybe £500 in the UK will cost around £5k to register !!! would hate to think what the M6 would be, also as a consequence the cost of cars here are exceptionally high, even for basic Corsa or Fiat but do stay in better condition corrosion wise. Armação de Pêra, about 25 mins drive see map below:
  13. Well a little flavour of the meet hope you enjoyed it. Jeff
  14. Car meets have begun here already given the slightly better weather here and they range from a few lads meeting at a local car park to full expo type affairs with literally hundreds of traders. However close to me a small but well organised club has a meet every 1st Sunday of the month, its a low key affair but gets lots of local and tourist attention, the car type is kind of a mix really, although a classic car club they have vintage and modern too. Last Sunday coincided with a 25 year celebration for the local town market so the club decided to add a a some live music and entertainers at the meet, this of course is a Portuguese style celebration with super friendly atmosphere where owner`s of modern classics are parked next to vintage Rolls Royce`s and the like, in fact other than the small original members enclosure the mixing of car types actually makes it more interesting for the casual viewer as often multiples of the same car in a row can be a bit.... well lack lustre to be honest. Knowing the easy going nature of my new friends I was not surprised by the organiser`s reply when I tentatively asked if my M6 would be accepted to the line up, receiving a most welcoming "Sim senhor todos bem-vindos " !! the only mistake been arriving at the start time all instead of an hour early to get the best spots but hey ho, the M6 was well received with lots of chat and picture been taken next to it, hard to realise sometimes that engine`s of 3.0 litre and above here are rare and mostly the dreams of many guys, even the local GNR Police had a look and a smile. Anyhow take a look at the diverse amount of cars and enjoy the view, sadly I cannot fully display the actual atmosphere, with people of all ages, the live music in the back ground, the food stalls and of course the drop back to the Algarvian sea.... just perfect! oh and I forgot the entrance fee............... Nothing!! yep free to all, and that included a drink and snack if you registered your car at the event..... puts some of the UK large events to shame as just money makers and not for enthusiasts..... Jeff
  15. There are two bleed screws on top of the unit, does not matter which you do first. See pic below. Jeff
