Rip off garages
Yes shocking, the garage trade as a whole has a terrible rep and was the bain of my business life that these kind of fool`s just keep reaffirming in the mind of the general public to be suspicious of all garage`s, that why I used photographs and write ups to demonstrate to owners by e-mail or here of the real issues and they could see them real time then. I know that things do not go right 100% of the time despite your efforts and some even here may not of "liked " Zedworld we NEVER did this, I mean to say work needs doing when its not required should be a criminal offence its like theft actually. Rip off garages
Came across this youtube link about a certain chain of garages that are quick to fit parts that you may not need, I am shocked by the senior management staff who after seeing the evidence roll out the usual corporate dross of lessons learnt and implementing more training...... seems their mechs need feeding more nuts !! be careful guys. Failed coil pack and plug VW Polo
So walking the dog in the Sunshine and the distinct sound of a misfiring engine came up the hill, the car in question a VW polo 1.2 was struggling to make it up the incline and as it struggled to passed me, I saw it was a local from a neighbouring property. Now for those that do not know the 1.2 Polo is a three cylinder engine so with obviously one not working it was struggling on just two which is some feat in itself! I popped around and suggested we have a look and low and behold a failed coil pack on the back cylinder so no mystery there then, but the plug on that cylinder was a shock to see, the amount of crude built up as it not been firing was amazing. A new coil pack, full set of plugs and the little 1.2 was soon running ok again, amazingly the owner had put up with for 2 months thinking it was something much worse and expected to be paying out big Euro`s !! Poor quality used parts
Anyone noticed the poor quality of used parts for the 300 on places like Flee-bay and Facebook ? cannot believe what I am seeing of late, corroded and rusty suspension parts, worn out and clearly very old dump valves, injectors look only fit for the bin!! and worse of all brake components that look like they have been on the Paris to Dakar Rally !! I would be horrified to receive such bad condition parts for a loved zed, I can understand that parts such as this may be coming harder to come by but that is no reason to hike the price`s and sell bin fodder as usable parts. I know when I started selling zed parts they were so much younger ( near 20 yrs younger ) and breaker`s in those days were actually better than many zeds been worked on as projects now, think I bought most of my breakers as full running cars with mot and tax such was the demand for parts then and that made it so much easier to supply good quality but jeez looking on Facebook in particular there are some parts sales on there which are just junk and the sellers write an easy about rarity and cost when new etc... yes but the parts you are selling are 20 yrs old now!! Oh well sorry for the rant but just be careful, don`t get ripped off for sub standard parts and do not fall into the trap of thinking your double decade parts are going to get you a summer holiday abroad, in fact in the spirit of the club / marque let`s keep it real! Jeff PS dump vales for sale: rare as hens teeth cost a million yen when new, leak on high boost but sounds just like a Subaru impreza ...cool £350 each

300zx problems
Yes check around the drivers foot well in particular where your left foot would be when driving, if your loosing any coolant then the heater matrix could be the issue, if not the targa drains can cause wet carpets more so on the passenger foot well. Jeff - - - Updated - - -

Err..no sidelights..
The indicator`s not working could because the hazzard switch on the pod has not gone back to the correct position. There are no loom fuses under the dash for the lights, you need to check for power at the fuse with a test meter, if no power there then it could be a fusebox issue. Jeff

Err..no sidelights..
Top row fuse, should be a battery live, so check to be sure there is no fuse board issue, it the one marked clearance illumination. Jeff

Conzult Help
The timing shown is the Ecu calculation based on value inputs from varies sensors and mapping parameters and is not necessary the actual timing, that would need to be checked with a strobe light. However saying that your are correct in as far as its should be showing 15 deg, therefore there is an issue that is holding the timing high and so keeping the revs high too. My first thought would be the tps closed throttle switch is not working correctly, both screens show that greyed out so cannot be sure, as that looks like a light version of ConZult the feature may be missing or not working. Checking for closed throttle can be done with a test meter if required, possibly a missing neutral signal can raise the timing but usually by a different amount, your friends car has its own issues with an over high tps reading so neither car seems to be set up correctly. The M6 arrives in the sun...
Not automatic but smg ( sequential manual gearbox ) a manual box with automated clutch, granted you can select the gear change to be automated as well as the clutch but in manual mode the paddle shifts are awesome, faster than a human can change gear and no torque converter pinching the power ... Err..no sidelights..
Main lights work ( main beam ) as a default even when side lights fuse has blown, check again driver`s foot well fuses top row third from left a red 10 amp one, just change it anyway for a known good one in case it has gone high resistance. Jeff

- The M6 arrives in the sun...
A few pics today to celebrate a 1000 miles journey through just about every weather you can imagine, a day cleaning yesterday and the results were just begging for a few pics. Amazing technology, a 500+ bhp V10 and returned just over 25 mpg, and in comfort too, been said this M6 looks like a mash up of my BMW 540 and my Twin turbo zed, quite like that !!
