  1. Impulse Performance sell them, mate. Like Dave says, I really wouldn't recommend them for anything other than glass smooth surfaces, although you can have them rebuilt to your own spring and damping preferences, but that's extra cost, naturally! http://www.d2racingsport.co.uk/products/d2/coilover/index.html
  2. The spelling wasn't a lot better the second time around, Rich!!
  3. Try the Heritage Classic policy from Norton Insurance - http://www.norton-ib.co.uk/ - Dave. The swb of mine (including mods) in Rooksbridge is £170 for 1500 miles. They also do 'laid-up' (I think that's how they term it!) insurance (from about £40 apparently!) and track day cover for classic cars. Still the best value I can find for mine............. Simon
  4. Brilliant, mate! And it'd soooo work as well!
  5. It was my car that provided Dave with his D2 experience (glad you made it back in one piece, Dave :)). They are the purple ones, but I've had quite a bit of contact with Impulse Performance - Until I get the numbers off the shocks themselves, they can't be sure of the spring rates, but I was told at the time I bought them, that they were about 13kg/mm front and 8kg/mm rear! I did mention that I thought they were the track version, but they insisted that they hadn't, at the time of questioning, imported anything but the street version..........personally, if that is the case, I'd rather have my fingernails pulled out with pliers than take a ride in the track version! What spring rates have you got with your Ground Control coilovers, Mark? I'm looking at replacing my set-up with the Ground Control/Kyb Agx one. How d'you find yours with the Konis? Especially when it comes to rough roads......... I'm not keen on making the same mistake with suspension again!!
  6. Was a bit of a zed day yesterday - Especially if I include the few I saw down SWZ as well! But, twas a bit of a surprise when I saw, in my drunken state (I think it was real!) a black H reg swb with black alloys parked up in Midsomer Norton high street at around midnight! Not seen it around before........
  7. Grey L reg parked up pretty near to the Riverside Inn at about 4pm yesterday.
  8. Hiyu Dave, Hope it's not too late ;) Can you put me down for 2 admissions and 2 track passes, please? Much obliged like an everythin' Simon
  9. MERRY CHRISTMAS to you, Anna, Dave and the rest of the folks, mate!
  10. I had a crack at both the Murcielago and Gallardo back in September at Bruntingthorpe. Booked via http://www.driversdreamdays.co.uk/. Gotta say it was a real pain in the ar!e trying to get through to them at the time to book the date (apparently they have since sorted their phone/email problems), but when I did actually get to do the whole day, it was fantastic! Wasn't impressed with the Murciealgo (apart from it's gorgeous looks), but the Gallardo was a good car to drive. Wasn't impressed with 500+ bhp either, but the instructors (especially the Gallardo one - who was a bit of a nutter!) did encourage me to put my foot to the floor. 3 laps was just not anywhere enough for me, though................
  11. I like to think it's like having two supermodels for wives - They may be expensive and highly strung, but at the end of the day, when you're in them and they're running at full steam you forget anything else in the world exists!! :D Seriously though - Neither car has come close to letting me down and the st205 doesn't cost me any more to run than my old '89 golf gti 16v!! Now, that's true puch for your pennies! Simon
  12. Clearly he has more to eat for breakfast than me!! :D I'll get started on draft number 2..........................!
  13. Easy solution to that one mate - Do what I did and get one of each!! Then you can be a happy mamber of both forums!! Or maybe I'm just being greedy...........!
  14. Yeah. It's about time we all stand together and tell this, and any other, government where to get off. It's supposed to be a government 'by the people, for the people', but it looks like they're too far up their own ar!es to realise this, too interested in making easy money out of the ordinary man and woman (and especially the motorist) to be politically correct with handouts to immigrants and getting involved in things that a small country can't afford - Probably just for their own egotistical satisfaction with being 'looked up to by the rest of the world'! What a crock! Petrol prices have got me mad enough (I'm sure I'm not the only one!) - If they try to bring this in too, I'm all for performing a voodoo seance and raising Guy Fawkes from the dead!! Give the guy another chance, I say!! In all seriousness, though, it's about time goverment stopped taking the easy route out and making the average guy and gal bleed money to pay for climate change (and you certainly can only put a small amount of the onus on the car user here) for which he is only a tiny bit responcible. Let's face it - We're only using what is made available and affordable to us, and in the case of us zed owners and the like, something which gives us pleasure and counteracts the hours of slog and thousands in tax which we give away each year. You've got to get enjoyment out of life, and at the rate goverment is going, we'll all only be able to afford to stay inside in dimly lit bedsits with nothing but a bowl of soup for company!! Count me in for any action if they push this through........... .......Wow! My longest post ever on here - I'm tired now!!
  15. I think I'd prefer to not know she was related - That way the thoughts would never be wrong...........
  16. Congratulations and best wishes to you all!
  17. A belated HAPPY BIRTHDAY from me, Mike! Simon
  18. Hiyu mate, I have the Lincolnshire address on my mobile at home. Will be home from work at 2.20pm, so I can text it to you etc. then, if you like? My number is 07773463129. Simon
  19. Happy Birthday, Dave! Now, quit slacking and get back to work on my car!! ;)
  20. Many happy returns and all that lark, matey!
  21. And a happy birthday from me, mate!
  22. If you get any internal/external video footage of this beast in action, be sure to put up some links, mate - It'd be great get an impression of a manic zed like this on the go! With all the usual edits to thwart any attention from mr plod, naturally..........................
  23. Actually, let me correct myself! Lets make that the second video you posted!!
  24. Yep, That's edk83 in the rides section. I've bought the gtz myself, but it is up in Lincolnshire at the moment with some type iii side skirts! I found it very difficult trying to find any decent pics on the interweb - Most are of that fuzzyish rear view which most sellers have. A google search will throw up a couple of reasonable piccies! Actually, in the first video you posted the other day, there's a glimpse of that bumper on a yellow zed with 99 spec rears pulling away!! HTH, Simon
  25. I didn't realise that your visits to Pauls weren't just social, Marcus! :) Simon
