  1. Definitely - Sounds a very worthwhile preventative measure as well as cure to me!
  2. Very interesting, Jeff! Another great article! Are the modified relays you talk of an off-the-shelf and plug and play modification?
  3. And a Happy Birthday from me, mate!
  4. Ditto to that! I can also vouch for the quality of Jimmer and Darrells workmanship - You can't go wrong with them, mate! :)
  5. Is that the same height as when they came off my car, mate? Or did you drop them a bit further - Your car looks lower to me! I hope you get on alright with them mate, but I'd definitely invest in some lower spring rates - You gotta be careful when it comes to the rough stuff! Besides, I still think they may have loosened my tension rods and be responsible for whatever has gone on with that upper arm (I'll investigate the prob more thoroughly when I get the car back!) Incidently, I paid around about the £750 mark for them ;)
  6. Nice 0ne - Thanks. Fills me with enough confidence to have a punt on them hearing that!
  7. Hi folks! Has anyone bought inner arms from this supplier? They are, apparently, from a 'reputable aftermarket supplier'. Or failing that, has anyone had experience with this company generally? I'm always a bit suspicious of buying non-Nissan or 'non-known' bits!! Cheers! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NISSAN-300ZX-Z32-REAR-STEERING-ARM_W0QQitemZ380122192731QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item58810c5b5b&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A2109%7C66%3A4%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318%7C301%3A1%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A200
  8. I'd be up for this - Would have to persuade Borderzed to bring out his zed for a run though, as mine is residing in the bodyshop awaiting a facelift!
  9. B!oody Hell, mate! Absolutely sickened to see that - A***holes like that should be strung up by their b@lls and all us decent folk should be handed a cricket bat and allowed a 5 minute free-for-all on them and their property! I hope it all gets sorted for you, hassle-free, mate.
  10. Awesome John - I bit you're chuffed to bits! That sound though..................It just makes me giggle!! :D Absolutely spine-tingling!
  11. Totally agree, mate - Anyone else would be serving time for what some of them have been up to and it damn well shouldn't be any different for these thieving scum!
  12. Have you been given your new van yet, mate? :)
  13. Personally mate, I'd go for the full AMS kit on your link - There won't be enough flexibility in the standard rear adjustment for a 30-40mm drop. The price is dead good too - To give you an idea, when I bought the same bits for my car 4 or 5 years ago, it was probably about £600 for them!
  14. That's a good bit of kit for a great price you're looking at there, mate. Z1's service is first class, too! I'd definitely go for the front and rear upper arms and the tension rods - There is a small amount of adjustment for camber in the stock rears, but it may not be enough - Depending on how much lower you go :)
  15. Stay away from cheap Ebay stuff when it comes to suspension mate! I've never had personal experience with Ebay items - Although I have heard bad things; but I will tell you that even the collar on my Powertrix adjustable upper arms has snapped (Powertrix are currently sorting it out - Thanks to them!) and they're a reputable manufacturer! For the sake of a few hundred quid (depending on how much of the suspension stuff you mean to replace!) it could make the difference between you staying on the road or ending up in the hedge, or even worse! It's just not worth it................
  16. No mate - They look like they'd do the trick, though. The ones I bought were universal ones which didn't come with the connector attached. I've got the finally cost for both the sensors (with connectors!) which I bought from the USA now, though, and it's £125 and a few pence! I know Jimmer's used these himself with no problems and I didn't want to mess around as I just needed to get the car running properly as it's overdue it's slot in the bodyshop!!
  17. Will do, mate! $145 so far plus whatever Parcelforce are going to want. Will let you know in English money as soon as I do!! :)
  18. You can also get someone to take a reading whilst cranking the engine over (remove the fuel pump relay so she doesn't start!) - Anything from about 9 1/2 or 10 volts up whilst cranking over and the battery is useable to good (about 10 1/2 volts for a completely sound one)
  19. Sounds like your O2 sensors are poorly mate! It's always worth cleaning the connector contacts first, but the sensors do die over time. I've just had to replace mine (well Jimmer and Darrell are the ones who are doing the biz!) and I did originally buy some universal Ebay ones - I've read that people have found them fine, and then a few say they're not! Personally, after a little wiring accident of my own on them, the Consult showed them to be lazy, so I ordered a pair, on Jimmers advice, from here - http://oxygensensors.com/catalog.php?&pkey=1209697 I will mention that we're currently having trouble getting them delivered - After a lot of messing around last night (I have a US Postal Service tracking number for the delivery) I've found Parcelforce have been holding them to Customs ransom since last Friday, but have not bothered to tell anyone! The idiots would have sent them back if we'd not been going about our own investigations as to where they are! Just a word of warning if you do order from there. The service from the US itself is first class, it's just the monkeys this end that are a problem! HTH, Simon P.s. If your sensor is duff, personally, I'd go for a pair - It's likely the other one isn't too far behind!
  20. Happy birthday, mate!
  21. Have a great day, John!
  22. Depending on what angle your car is sat at, it could also be a leak from the autobox mate - Mine used to have similar symptoms on occasion when oil dripped from the rear seal!
  23. Hiyu mate - I don't know why I was particularly nosing around at this thread, but it could be lucky for both of us that I did!! You can contact me on sjt_21@hotmail.co.uk about the pipes if you like - I can give you a contact number from there, if you prefer! Cheers, Simon
  24. Yeah - I might not get invited around for tea and cakes anymore!! I did looove the way it sounded with the exhaust off - Damned shame about all this noise pollution laws and stuff!! :D Yep - Believe it or not, over 3 years after you pulled it from the car, it started up and didn't miss a beat, sounding fantastic - I'm really looking forward to driving it (especially after I've taken that D2 suspension off!) Will be posting pics when it returns from the bodyshop and then it's on to the tuning stage and seeing what we can get out of the gal! I'll take good care of that fabulous engine you built, mate ;)
  25. Cheers fellas! I am happy as larry with what Jimmer and Darrell have done - To be honest the car didn't get up to them in particularly good condition and plenty of bits have gone missing since being at SWZ, so it was a jigsaw puzzle for them! On the plus side, Paul has managed to find replacement parts for most of what got lost, borrowed or 'walked away' by whoever is responcible - Just some interior trim fasteners, gear gaitor rubbers and clutch vacuum tanks to find and she'll be as she should be! Plus a little bodywork repair, but we won't mention anyones 'pushing the car onto the trailer' skills!! :D I am really pleased though fellas - I was just dumbfounded at seeing it running - It's been soooo long! Weird it was!! I'm running the Z1 gt535's now, Dave - The same turbo spec as the gt25r's which Jimmytt now has (good luck with your rebuild, mate!) - After discussing with Jimmer, I didn't want to have any more hassle than I had to, to get the car running, and tried to avoid as many potential problems and 'time consumers' as I could, so decided to sell up and buy the bolt-on kit! I was tempted by the gt600's which were the same price when I bought them, but the 535's/JWT530's have such a good rep for delivery wallops of power in a v8 fashion, that I didn't want to risk losing any of that drivability - After seeing SMW1's results, I certainly don't think I'll be needing anything bigger! :)
