  1. A belated happy birthday Lee - hope you had a good one matey! Richard🤩
  2. We haven't booked a club place - unfortunately I was unaware of this event until now.... ....However if we have sufficient interest, and everyone registers their interest ASAP, I can still book a place. Closing date is Monday 8th. Pick a day - Saturday or Sunday - sadly I can't attend, as I have a Land Rover driving experience that weekend.
  3. I'd suggest dropping the seller a line to confirm dimensions of the other one.... ......Also check whether you'll need the metal adaptor for bolting it to the MAF, as only one of them appears to come with it.
  4. Hi and welcome Maurice! My question - does it happen when you are driving, or when the car is stationery, or both? If it happens when the car is stationery - IE you can hear the noise when you open the bonnet and rev the engine - I'd start with what Gary says above. New oil and filter and perhaps some hydraulic lifter treatment as you could have a sticky lifter. If it's all good whilst idling, but you get the sound only when driving, from what you've said about limp-mode (or safety boost) you could have engine knock; AKA pinking under load. Your ignition timing could be out, your fuel mixture too weak or you're using poor quality (low octain) fuel. Find someone with the proper diagnostics and get a full check done to determine the cause. If it's a light tapping under load - but not when stationery, it doesn't sound like it's mechanical.
  5. Many happy returns Ian - have a great day mate!!
  6. Many happy returns Arthur - have a great day sir!!
  7. A belated happy birthday Trevor - hope you had a great day mate!
  8. So true!! ....And the Zed is looking good Mark - great to meet you at Beaulieu last month!!
  9. Hello and welcome Richard! I have moved your question out of the events area to the correct section.... And as Andrew says, you will definitely have more success over on the Zclub as we are dedicated to the z32 model here.
  10. If someone has the part number, try looking it up on Amayama - they often still have stock of some things which have been discontinued.....
  11. Hi and welcome.... We're a UK based club, so I'm not sure who sells what outside of the UK - and of course the big suppliers in the USA (Z1 Motorsports and CZP). I've always found both of those guys to be reliable.... Amayama in Japan is much nearer to you (for OEM parts). Being much closer to Japan, I'd have thought you would have a larger spares market than we do!
  12. After being diagnosed with the Big C, James Whale passed away today... I fondly remember his Friday night TV show in the late 1980sand early 1990s - often outspoken, very un-PC, definitely controversial, but nonetheless extremely entertaining...... RIP James, there are not many left like him nowadays.
  13. LOL - I knew you couldn't stay away forever Rob......!!! 300zx ownership is like Hotel California - you can check out any time you like, but you can never leave😁
  14. Hi and welcome Martin - and good luck in your search for a Zed. As Jimmer says, please do share a link before you buy..... As these cars get more rare, the chances are that one of us may know it - and that Jim has worked on it previously.
  15. After attending Beaulieu the previous weekend, we decided a little return trip to The New Forest was in order to see a couple of places we missed. In the Zed of course..... First stop was Hythe for breakfast, then a visit to Calshot Castle, finally dropping in at Burley before heading home. Well worth burning a tank of fuel for....😁
  16. Welcome to the club Lionel - and thank you for your support! Nice looking Zed you have there......🤩
  17. Happy birthday for yesterday Vig - hope you had a great day mate!
  18. This - a short motorway drive from Berkshire and you'll get to Jimmer. THE ZXpert and the only person I would trust to do a cambelt service on a 300zx.
  19. Yup - what Andrew said....!
  20. Nice one Arthur - glad you had a great time.... I must go to France again, it's been a very long time - pre-Zed in fact!!
  21. Luckily I did Gary....! Jimmer came to the rescue and posted me a spare speed sensor for an auto (Thank you good sir!!) - and I managed to get the Zed booked in the garage opposite my office last Friday. Unfortunately the mechanic could not get sufficient access to the plug, to release the cable on the old sensor. But fortunately I had left a print showing how the plastic cap pops out - he read it, then spotted that it had indeed popped out, so he glued the cap back into place. Job done - I have a working speedo again 🤩 I'll return Jim's spare sensor when I take the Zed down to him later this year....
  22. A last minute call for this show - I cannot make it myself, but we have a club stand, so hopefully we'll have a few attendees....!
  23. Another celebrity passes away, just a couple of days after Ozzy....☹️ RIP Hulk, another legend gone.
  24. Where abouts are you these days Steve....?
