The Zed police car - apparently there were 3 or 4 Z32 police cars in Japan; and the owner spent ages sourcing genuine parts from the Land of The Rising Sun to build this superb replica.....

Simply Japanese 2025 - Beaulieu 20th July
T'was a great show as always - probably my favourite in the calendar to be honest, as there is something for everyone at Beaulieu. I'll start by thanking Mark (Madmarco) and John (Johnno) for coming along to represent the club - cheers guys, it was great to see you both there! And then there was the chap who followed me in - but was allocated elsewhere in the grounds - with the awesome Z-police inspired car... Sorry, I didn't catch his name but it was great to chat and to see the work gone into his car. Starting with the phone-pics.....

Pre-Beaulieu road trip
As one or two of us know, last weekend was Simply Japanese at Beaulieu. So as usual, Julia and I decided to make a weekend of it - we drove down Saturday morning for a little mini-break. Started the day in Lyndhurst - and had to stop by the Ferrari dealers for a little look. Then on to Highcliff in Dorset for a nice sunny day at the beach, before heading back to our hotel near Marchwood.

I'm still going too - although I may not meet everyone at Tesco before going in.... ....Last year, we drove straight in around 9.45 missing the initial queues whilst the organisers herd us in, in rows like cattle. Besides, we're staying in a hotel nearby and want to enjoy our eggs benedict for breakfast before checking out. LOL 😉

Speed sensor gone bad.....
I took my Zed out yesterday and all was fine - as usual - until suddenly the speedo stopped working and the PAS went stiff. The HICAS light came on at some point - but went out when I restarted the car after stopping at the local garden centre. When I restarted it a third time, the auto-box light blinked a few times before going out, so when I got home I ran the auto-box diagnosis check. And sure enough, flash number 2 was the longest, indicating a speed sensor fault. I saved the tip from JeffTT, which Andrew kindly shared recently - where the sensor can be fixed with epoxy resin, but sadly I could not get under the car to check and mend, if that plastic bit has popped out. I spoke with Jim and he might have a spare one - and luckily he told me the manual and auto sensors are different. CZP has the auto version on stock - and so does Amayama, so I'll order a brand new one if need be. Typical though, as it's Beaulieu this coming weekend so fingers crossed I can get it fixed in time!!
