  1. Bloody hell, the one on the right looks like Gio....... BTW where is Gio? Not seen him on the forum for ages....... Richard ;)

Yup, I met Kent terry of Jap City and he seems a decent guy. He only imports good stuff too  Richard :)
  3. Thanks Paul  Just called the dealer to arrange test drive and he's just sold it..... :slap: Never mind, I'm still undecided - especially as the ZX is soooo good for my journey to work. Nice (mostly) straight A road, perfect for exploiting its overtaking ability ;) PLus the ZX is way better looking  Richard :D
  4. Hi Nick, Does it not say on the V5 (logbook) "vehicle previously used overseas" or something like that? Richard
  5. Who is this "Mycroft" I've read so much about - on other forums too?? What did he do? Richard :smw:
  6. Heh heh, was that the insurance excess mate?? ;) :nono: Richard :D
  7. Hi Paul Now that I've changed jobs I have a 50 mile round trip to work (until I move, that is..... ;) ) and I didn't want to kill my zed doing that each day. So I've been toying with the idea of selling it and getting a newer car (eg Jag XK8 or Merc CLK), or keeping the Zed and buying another daily driver (say merc SLK - I know :o but at least my wife can drive that too...) question is, as the CLK (older shape - say Y reg) is available in 430 V8 variant, what is it like? BHP, performance etc. Not fussed about fuel economy or running costs (I'm used to the zed..... :D ), just want comfort and decent performance. I don't fancy the 230komp or 320 - too slow ;) I've seen a nice one with Cheers Richard
  8. Hi mate, when I wanted to wire on front fogs, someone here suggested taping the wire to the end of an opened out wire coat hanger and carefully poking it through the same grommet the bonnet-release cable goes through. It's just above the accellerator pedal. Worked fine for me ;) Richard :smw:
  9. Hi mate I'd go with what Smithy said. After all £5 is little over a gallon nowadays  Go back and fill the whole tank with petrol then when its half empty fill up again to dilute it further. Any probs after that, get a decent fuel system cleaner like redline stuff from demon tweeks, or the new Comma full system cleaner at £14 from Halfords. Should be ok.... Richard :)
  10. I use 95RON with no probs..... then I have a UK car which was set to run on it anyway  Only use Shell or BP though (mainly because I collect the points) Richard :D

Don't you mead Daphne? :p Thelma was the geeky-looking moose with thick glasses  Richard ;)
  12. Agree with that, my Zed will kick-down with very little throttle movement leaving (virtually) all other cars a mere speck in the rear view mirror. It will happily kicks down 2 gears at speeds below 60-70 ish Richard

I had a mate like that too once...... He always said fat chicks were like mopeds - both fun to ride until a mate spots you   Richard :x:
  14. Hi mate Elite Wheels and Tyres in Rainham, Essex are the UK importers of Kosei. Try http://www.elitedirect.com Richard :)
  15. Don't you have the blinds? I leave mine on and the "greenhouse" effect isn't so bad...... Richard :)

LMAO  There is actually a proper term for this - autolepsy IIRC ;) There was an article on it in Lax Power some years ago..... .....I'll say no more  (But the accompanied photos were of a Scooby driver :p ) Richard :nono:
  17. Fekking hell, mate...... Have you taken up drug dealing to finance your project???? Richard ;)
  18. Woohoo, thanks Jock  I picked them up from the body-work shop yesterday and fitted them back on today :D New spoiler left a much tighter fit than the old one but I trimmed them down a bit and did what Jock said and they're on...... Plus I stuck on a chrome-look "twin turbo" badge that I bought from the USA. Just the 3rd brake light to fit now - I'll do that next week when I get the screws to fit it. Richard :)

True, but a few unscrupulous dealers were known to get imported cars registered with later year/reg numbers to make the car look newer. This was more the case when grey imports were not as common as now. I've seen many early spec Mk2 MR2s (ie g/h reg cars) running K/L reg numbers. This would not be a mistake or late registration in Japan either as the Japanese market always got the newer spec cars before us...... Although it is more difficult now, fortunately. Richard :)

Yup, that's how you would tell :D Richard :smw:
  21. Welcome to the forum :D The Japanese date 13-06-16 refers to 13th year of current Emperor's reign, then 06-16 as normal USA date...... :) Not well up on Japanese royal family issues, so I don't know what year that would be. :( Richard :smw:
  22. I did take the spoiler to my local bodywork shop.....looks like they may have forgotten them...... I'll call them tomorrow Richard :)
  23. Great.... Thanks Dave
  24. Hi all just had the fibreglass replica spoiler fitted (usual story - OE one like a sodden sponge  ) However I seem to have lost the 2 bits of trim that fill the void between the tail-gate and the top of the rear lights (either side of that "gap" under the brakelight where you should insert your hands to lift the boot...... Is this part of the OE spoiler or can I buy them separately? Thanks Richard :)
  25. Hi all Just bought a 3rd brake light to fit on my UK Zed (Cheers, AndyZ  ) and have a couple of questions...... 1) do the UK cars have the wiring in the tailgate ready to accept the plug from the brake light? 2) what bulbs do they take? rear cover of lights says 13w but Halfords  and local motor factors stock the capless bulbs in 10w, 16w or 21w...... Thanks Richard :)
