  1. Heh heh, very good - even for the third posting here!! Richard
  2. I'd have loved a car like the ZX for my first one.... .....but sensibly decided not to (plus the Z32 wasn't around in 1987  ). I did have a RWD, though and moved up to a much faster car (Manta 2.0 GTE - hell they were good back in '88-89  ) around a year later. Insurance wans't a killer then either. I'm glad I didn't get the Manta straight away, I'd have wrapped it round a tree, sure enough. I agree with the earlier post about a classic car, though - makes you stand out for sure and you won't be tempted to see what 300BHP can really do, killing yourself in the process. Good luck with your choice Richard :)
  3. Sorry mate, I'm with YaSeen - I don't like it either :( Richard :)
  4. Don't know if those on a stock Zx are any bigger? But when the designers of the ZX were developing the engine they chose 2 smaller hybrid tubbies rather than one big one to spool up quicker and give better low down response. Big turbos give better BHP and top end performance but can be lousy for low down grunt. Richard :smw:
  5. But what about the deposit you leave behind :x:
  6. No, you have to buy a present that lasts  Had mine for just over a year (14 months to be exact) and still love driving it. Just when you may think "It's just a car" you put your foot down to overtake a lorry, a caravan and 3 cars in one hit during a gap in the oncoming traffic. It does it with such speed (and style ;) :D especially when some tw@t in a BMW tries to follow you but only gets past the first car just as you disappear past the lorry at the front) that it still makes me grin  I've briefly flirted with the possibility of replacing it with something newer but.......no! :hyper: I now drive 50 miles a day to/from work and love it more - I don't even care about the fuel bills Richard :smw:
  7. Doesn't just the TT have limited slip diff? Richard
  8. Girl in the black top in picture #1... Sings "....I'm a little teapot......" ;) BTW, nice pictures mate. Richard :D
  9. Quite like that  I saw a nice Diablo for sale in a garage near me, with the reg plate 666 LAM. The slogan underneath was "....The Devil made me do it....." Richard :D
  10. I bet the long winter evenings just fly past in his house   Richard :D
  11. Now that's low, Mac ;) Us unfortunate folk with crumpled red Zed's don't find that funny :slap: Richard :D
  12. Looks just like typical drivers of German cars on the M25 to me..... :xxx: Fekking morons, how they managed to not hit anything ??
  13. Ha ha, true. A mate at work told me to use the main car park on the road into Mevagissey. For once I took their advice - the Zed would have got stuck... .....like my Supra almost did in Port Isaac a few years ago. Julia didn't fancy the long walk back up to the carpark so suggested I parked down in the village.... ...big mistake :slap: I had to fold in the door mirrors to get between 2 buildings on the way out the other side and still managed to touch the side of one :nono: We go to Cornwall 2 or 3 times a year and always take the Zed - criminal not to, I just take care on the narrow bits ;) Glad you had a good time, mate  Richard :D
  14. Just do as you like, mate... ....that's the best bit about this forum which makes other car forums look sh1te. If anyone doesn't like it they have another choice - to feck off!!! :mac1: Richard :D
  15. Not at all Mike  I'm looking for a new house at present to be nearer to my new job, as I'm currently driving 50 miles a day in the ZX. The new place must be Z-friendly so I always take a tape measure along to ensure the garage is wide enough for it. :D Suprising how small some garages are..... :nono: Richard :)
  16. For a simple, effective and reasonable price upgrade try http://www.3gbrakes.co.uk I got a set of Brembo slotted discs and Mintex pads for around £225 delivered  Richard :)
  17. The filter itself may be OK to use if you have the correct base plate which bolts onto the AFM. Otherwise you could try and make your own, or try Demon Tweeks as they sell adaptors. The ZX gulps a lot of air so you need to make sure the neck is a reasonable diameter, not like the narrow ones found on lesser cars. Richard :)
  18. Hi Gio What a b@stard :nono: As the car is not mobile I guess you need a mobile techy who can come out and finish the job. Plenty of them around but I don't know how good they are with ZXs :( Are you going to the Royal Oak tomorrow? Looks like I won't be the only Z-less one there. Richard :)

IIRC it depends on the year... Earlier NAs had thinner discs and probably different pads. Later NAs had same brakes as TT. The TT set-up would be an easy and ideal upgrade for an early NA# Richard ;)
  20. Yeah, but I wanted to keep the pics a reasonable size yet all on one line  And I'm not that good at playing with photos, so I simplified the "..blue, indigo, voilet.."bit :p Richard :)
  21. What do you think of my new sig? first attempt at photo manipulation............ .....plus a bit of post whorring :D  Richard

True  Julia and I go there a few times a year, as she has a mate in Camelford. I rang the owners of the hotel we stay at - fortunately they are at the top of the village (top of the hill) so the place was untouched and they are OK  Good news, as it's a decent place to stay :) Richard
  23. No, you'll be OK... ..as I said on another thread, now that the fat kunt Prescott is there, they can deploy him as a flood barrier  Have a good holiday ;) Richard :smw:

At least you don't live in Boscastle  Was a nice place before Monday..... Nearly bought a house in the harbour there a couple of years ago, lucky escape eh? And why the feck send Prescott there Tuesday FFS?? If they had sent him there Monday afternoon the fat kunt could have been deployed as a flood barrier..... ;) Richard
