  1. Are you sure it's not just a stone stuck in the tyre tread..... ;) Could also be a stone stuck in the brakes Richard :smw:
  2. Very good, Gio  My neighbours are keen gardeners and after a hard day's planting the the woman was showing her husband her handiwork, but he still couldn't spot the clematis..... ......but then the old bush was somewhat overgrown  Richard :)
  3. Spot on - they are just trying to get you to admit it. If any details are incomplete or incorrect it is invalid. If you are in the AA or RAC call their legal service for free advice. Richard :)
  4. When I started driving at 17 (1987) all of my contemporaries were buying Mk1 and Mk2 escorts. Others had Cortinas if they wanted a bigger car, so I got a Mk1 Cavalier coupe, then a Manta. When we were a little older/wealthier they were into XR3is so I had a Cav SRi and a Celica. Exactly why I had a couple of Mk3 Soops and now a ZX too   Richard :smw:
  5. Isn't the word a PORTUGEEZER   :D
  6. They all want nailing...... ......IN A FEKKING COFFIN.......
  7. Yeah, with a baseball bat  The only way to rid TV of this cr@p is for nobody to watch it.... .....I've stopped watching TV in general as there's nothing but soaps and reality viewing. Oh and a million gardening/house makeovers/w@nkers from hell etc etc etc..... And we are still forced by law (and the threat of b\/ggery from mr big) to pay £120 for the privelege of owning a Television.... Rant over........I'll just cheer myself up by watching TV..........ARGGGGHHHH  No wonder I I've been taping all episodes of "The Simpsons" to watch when there's nothing else on. Hmmmmmmm Beer :duffer: :duffer: Richard :smw:
  8. As SRRAE says 60mph most efficient - most cars produce best mpg ".....at a steady 56mpg.....) Although 80 in a ZX seems to be pretty efficient. I have had around 23mpg average on a 220 mile trip to Yorkshire at a steady 90-100 on the M1. Richard :)
  9. Sorry to hear that mate :( I'd pour beef gravy over their b0ll0x and let a couple of hungry pit bulls do their stuff  Richard
  10. True - all to be "an individual" Why not buy an individual car instead? There are millions of Paxos on the road ?? I remember reading about some tw@t that did exactly this - why did he not buy something like a TVR in the first place? Fast straight out of the box, cool sound, looks etc..... .....and with those mods on his Paxo I bet the stock TVR would cost less to insure too  I also remember the editor of Fast Car saying he too would rather have that £30k modded Saxo than stock Evo ?? Now leaving his job aside ( ) what true petrol head would really say/mean that? Richard :)
  11. I think that may have been referring to the driver.  I normally let tw@ts like that pass too - better they feck off and kill themselves rather than take me with them..... Richard :)

I got my Azev As (in 17s - 9.5x17 on rear with 255/40 and 8x17 on front with 235/45) fitted with Goodyear GSD3 - the best tyre ever  from http://www.dtmotorsport.co.uk They are the importers of Azev from Germany and charge you the same prices as they sell to other retailers. Cost £1000 delivered. See "my rides" section - they are IMO the best looking 5 spoke for a ZX  Richard :)
  13. Yup, I'll come along too.... .....following from previous thread :) Richard :smw:
  14. £50....... .....If you accidently put a hammer through it and claim from your insurance windscreen cover, you'll just pay the excess !! :x: Richard

Yup, try http://www.3gbrakes.co.uk I got the Brembo slotted discs (stock size) and Mintex pads for £220 inc P&P a couple of months ago. Much improved braking over stock..... and at that price too.... Richard :)

Though of buying a Z31 about 10 years ago....... were good cars in their early days but a bit too lardy/american/medalion-man ish to cut it as a real sports GT like the Z32 managed to do. Z32 engine was based on the Z31 but heavily improved to give better power & torque plus accomodate the twin tubbies - the Z31 had a single turbo. Still nice cars if you can find a good one but I prefer the older 260/280Z Richard :)
  17. It is a fact that a stock MR2 turbo is quicker to 60 than a ZX (5.2 compared to 5.4) but 10th can be gained by driver skills. However a Zx is quicker to 100. The MR2 tubby struggles to do it in 16, compared to 14.4 in a ZX. I raced a couple of MR2 turbos in my Mk3 Soop turbo - stock 0-100 in 16 dead - and beat them easily enough to 100. The ZX will also be quicker in rolling races - say 40-80 etc, owing to superior torque and sheer grunt. That is for stock motors before anyone says "my mate had....." The MR2 is a great car, though (wicked handling too) - the ordinary MR2 is a hairdressers car, but the turbo makes it a bit more manly. Not the proper hairy chested real mans car that a ZX is, though - not by a long way....... Richard
  18. Yes, stock is two separate units. But I think if you are pretty handy with some cutting tools, plastic padding and spray paint you could adapt the pannel trim. However in the stock set up the lower unit sits closer to the driver (ie about 1-2cms toward the back of the car) than the top unit, owing to the slope of the dash. Richard :)
  19. Hi Jay, Gio etc Yup, I'd be up for that (22nd?) Assuming my Zed is out of the bodyshop - fekking landrovers....... Richard :)

Good to see he has his priorities right..... Richard :)
  21. I had thought of this a while back, but Julia said there's no way she would arange that.... :( I'll fekking well have myself stuffed and mounted on the sofa as a constant reminder of our marriage instead  Failing that I'll just come back and haunt her  Richard
  22. If you are NOT fitting side skirts then it has to be the 99 spec. Otherwise, they are both good  Richard :)

GT/GTO is a nice car but the UK spec was 280BHP like the ZX, although not sure about later (or import) versions of the GT. US spec got 320 bhp (but 320 USA bhp is really about 150 real BHP :D ) 1993 What Car road test (ZX/GT/Pork 968/SoopTT) had the ZX trouncing the GT but stuffed by the Soop (0-100 = ZX 14.4/GT 16.1/Pork 15.9 and Soop a fekking fast 12.2!!). UK spec Soop was 326bhp & 330lb/ft torque stock though and they are a little lighter than a ZX Richard ;)
  24. Hi all in view of recent thread on covering the black trim with electrical tape to smarten it up I came up with another idea and it seems to work..... Black footbal boot polish !! I got some red Colour Magic stains on the trim when polishing the Zed last week. They soaked into the black bits and made it a bugger to remove, so I gave them a clean with black football boot polish - more waterproof and durable than regular shoe polish. A couple of coats to let it absorb into the trim and one more to finish and it looks good as new :hyper: Much cheaper than replacing all the black bits ;) Richard :D
