  1. The stock rears on a Uk car are 8.5 wide - so providing you can get the right offset they will be ok. On 8.5 wide, 255/35/18 would probably be the best fitting option for the rears. The usual problem is that many of the more common wheel manufacturers do not make their wheels to fit our cars so you find you have to go for the more expensive brands - WheelMania, Azev, Antera, BBS etc.... Good luck ;) Richard :)
  2. I had a Supra before the ZX too - we're not alone there either ;) Welcome to the Forum  Richard :)
  3. Just don't take your American Express card  :nono: ;) Richard
  4. BTW..... Has a Skyline regained the fastest lap time of Nurburgring yet or does that Blitz Supra still hold the record at 7mins 49secs :nono: ;) Richard :slap:
  5. Don't really think it's worth it........ ......The ZX is a special car, an opinion shared by everyone here otherwise we wouldn't own one  . But the Skyline is truly an awsome piece of kit, especially the R34GTR. The 4WD system is way more advanced than anyone else has produced giving handling that is probably more superior than ....well anything  All in all, the GTR is almost untouchable, especially when tuned to 1000bhp..... ......but we still love a wind-up on this forum - the banter is 80% of the fun ;) Richard
  6. So will you be back Zedding again in the future? Richard :)
  7. Yep, great pics mate  That first one under the cliff could be a 300ZX advertising poster  Shows red is the best colour too....... ;) (From the book 300ZX Enthusiast's companion - ".....the designer's choice as the most appropriate colour.....") Richard :)
  8. I was going to say this too!! A couple of Americans from the US airbase near my office have Eclipses - one is a convertible..... We can't both be wrong, can we ;) Richard :)
  9. 5.7 V8........sweeeeet  Odd looking cars, but I stil like them :hyper: Richard ;)
  10. There shouldn't be any spacers, have you got a bigger brake conversion on your Zed? I have used my spare without any probs Richard
  11. The :xxx: is not that good at catching speeders though, LOL...... ...... Back in MArch 2003 I was caning my old soop at over 130 on the wrong side of the A5, overtaking everything in site - he never got me  Richard ;)

Agreed  I've not suffered loss of grip yet, wet or dry - the back end just behaves so you can safely boot it off roundabouts ;) They're dead quiet for a performance tyre too.....
  13. In the 1980s the Z32 was little more than a twinkle in Mr Nissan's eye - we had the Z31 until 1989/90. The Z32 was launched in the UK in 1990  I personally like the R34 Skyline, I quite like the R33 but don't care for the R32 - just my opinion :D I'm not sure I would buy an R34 though. For the money I'd stick with a GT car, but with more style - an XKR or TVR Cerb..... Back to the original question, I think the Skyline is faster simply beacuse it was designed to be  The ZX is a GT car in the same mold as the Pork 928 whereas the Skyline is a track-tearing hooligan :D Also bear in mind the costs - in the UK the Z32 topped out around £34k new but a UK spec Skyline (rare as fekk) would set you back over £50K new........ BTW, the Skoda Octavia RS can't do 150 yet - just over 140 IIRC :D Richard :smw:
  14. I'm still with you, Paul......... .......Poof's game IMO, real men prefer rugby  Richard
  15. LMFAO  But he is, though, isn't he
  16. Hmm I do like the NSX, but that back end is way too long and spoils the overall appearance somewhat. As Herman says the ZX is "slightly" quicker in the straights but the NSX has better handling capabilities. As for reliability they are supposedly generally reliable as the ZX is in the main but if something went wrong, like Vijay says, it will sting you more than the ZX would if you can find someone to repair it  I would have considered one but not at that cost, the ZX is way more car for the cash. In fact I'd go for the Supra TT over the NSX, for what the Soop lacks in the looks department a UK soop will stuff an NSX for performance in straights and twisties..... Besides I like the effortless low down performance of the ZX (and Soop). The V-tec lump is sweet but you have to work it very hard for max peformance ;) I'm glad I chose the Zed  It's actually more practical than the NSX too :p Richard
  17. guess the people I spoke to could have been referring to the MkIII Soop? ;) Richard :smw:
  18. Did thanks, same to you too.. There were a few scary moments, like turning into a single track road and coming face to face with a fekking HGV - b@stards shouldn't be driving on those type of roads, there are enough fekking signs  The road from the hotel car park wasn't really Zed-friendly either, it was a bit steep, so i had to be careful not to ground the front spoiler..... Otherwise they were OK. My wife has a mate in Camelford, so we go and stay in Boscastle a few times a year - I know the roads pretty well by now (and which ones to avoid :D ) Richard :)

.....And it has a "sold" sticker in the windscreen......
  20. Saw a red UK car in Ickenham, Middx on Tuesday 8.15AM turning right into Swakeleys Road.... I flashed my headlights as I drove past you in the queue...... Anyone? Richard
  21. Heh heh..... I remember, now mate  One dodgy scouser would know another  Richard ;)
  22. Is that B19RKS' old car, the one he warned everyone to stay away from...... ;) Richard
  23. Hi Greg... We were staying in Boscastle. Stayed away from Newquay, but I did drive through St Ives last Wed (9th) around mid-afternoon IIRC :) Wife and I have no kids, so the Zed can (just  )take our luggage..... ......a good excuse for Julia not to bring so much ".....sorry, that won't all fit in the car......" Always works ;) Richard
  24. Should be just under 4litres with the filter change..... :) Fully synth is always best for turbo applications owing to the excess heat generated. Fully synth can cause problems if used for the first time in a high-ish mileage engine. Some people say that when using fully synth for the first time to change the oil again after 1000 miles or so, as the synth oil loosens up loads of crap and deposits in oilways etc. As for the engine being "designed for semi-synth" that is rubbish. Oil technology is improving all the time (plus fully synth was available in 1990 anyway  ) so as long as viscosity is right you'll have no probs. I'd say 90% of us here use fully synth in our Zeds......can't all be wrong...! Richard :)
  25. is that right.....? Most wheel manufacturers and suppliers reckon that the ZX, Supra & RX7 (+ possibly the GTO) have the same stud pattern and offset, the only diff being the size of the centre bore (hence the "sleeve"). I got told that from Wheelmania & DT Motorsport, so I don't mean dodgy "lax-power" type suppliers ;) Richard :)
