Will these wheels suit the Zed?
 Look good if you can get them mate  5 spokes suit the ZX best, IMO  Richard :)

Buying Pirelli's P7000 - comments?
Hi Geoff After using Pirellis on previous cars all I can say is "...noisy expensive sh1te...." but if you are selling your Zed soon, who cares...... :x: Richard :)

Which oil
Hi Alex I've just had mine serviced and with the filter, just about 4 litres fills it. Like you I've a UK TT with 70k on the clock and find that 5W40 fully synth is good. Speak to Mike Feeney at MJP, he sells 5 litres of millers for approx £23 - he says it is ideal for the Z32 and he knows his Zeds  I've just used this - way cheaper than Shell Helix and my car sounds fine and shows good oil pressure...... Richard :)

Who's been to the Motor Show then???
Not yet..... Anyway, I stopped going a few years ago (most new cars are sh1te, DB9 excluded though  ). I still go to the International Classic Car Show every November........ .......many more proper cars that are worth a look   I see you checked out a couple of desirable models though, Gworilla  ...... ......Great bodywork, did they handle well too :x: Richard :)

The Beatles and the Stones
Never really liked the Beatles, but I like a lot of their songs when covered by others (that's other artists who can sing, not Boyzone or any plop-idle tw@t). Lennon & McCartney knew how to bash out a tune and there will probably never be anyone like that again coz this world has slipped down the U-bend :( The Stones are still good.......... Whilst on the subject of the greats, what about Queen. Best rock band ever  Richard :)

i found YEN
I found yen under hidden under a pannel of my old import Supra  Nothing in the Zed, though (but it is a UK car  ) Now this may be total b0llox but I remember reading somewhere that the Japanese are very superstitious people and leave a coin in their cars for good luck - hence I left the one I found in the soop where it was........ Think I read this in the same place where I read that the front grill of all Japanese cars appears to be "smiling" in order that "a happy car will ward off evil spirits" Anyone elses heard this or am I hearing "those" voices again   Richard :)

How dodgy an area whould you leave your Z in?
My parents live in East London. I only took the Zed there during the day and only parked it in their drive, not on the road.... ......having said that, I don't take it anymore owing to the over zealous traffic calming measures. Speed ramps that are way too high they are actually level with the curbstones - you can hear the spoiler scrape as you nose slowly over them. They also have those fekking square humps that if you drive astride them you can hear your exhaust touch the tarmac and my is not even lowered FFS. Oh not to mention the 6 foot 6 width restrictions - just about the width of a ZX including mirrors  Fekking Ken Livingstone :xxx: Glad I no longer like in London :x: Richard

soft top 300zed
Didn't the Americans get the convertible in TT form, or was that just a conversion? Richard :)

Ebay zed, £9,200 reserve not met!
Very true, good low mileage (especially late year models) UK spec Zeds do fetch a premium. I've seen a couple in the Auto Trader for around £8000+ Still agree that 9K+ is OTT, though. I would have said £8000 tops is reasonable. Richard :)

New user, help.... already crashed after 23 hours of purchase
Nice one !! Still, glad you are ok though. The car can be fixed, your body not necessarily so  Welcome to the forum, by the way. You should find all the help you need here.... The best investment, before wheels etc is £20 for a subscription. You will save way more than that with the help, advice and discounts from traders. Good luck, mate! Richard

Shipping costs
Use this option with care......... .....not the evasion of duty consequences, but in the event of loss or damage in transit. The transit insurance will cover the stated value of the goods, so if it is marked down.....well you see my point ! :x: Richard :)

Spinners!!!
Fekkin hell !! I must order a set for my Zed  Richard

£14,995 to blow on a Z??
Judging by their reply to Chris, they obviously don't want to sell the car. I mean is that the way to talk to a customer ?? :D BTW, did j-spec cars have airbags in 1992? I looked at several imports ranging from from 1990 to 1996 models and IIRC only later cars - eg 1995+ had airbags, certainly none of the 1992 ones did...... Do they really know what they are selling ;) :D Richard :smw:

First Post - advice, questions and suggestions
Hi mate, welcome to the world of the ZX  A uk car would be a TT as the N/A was never sold here, so a UK TT would therefore have been the same price as your N/A import? As for the filter, I would expect around 5bhp increase is realistic for an N/A. Possibly around 10-15bhp for a TT for this mod alone. The effects would be increased when combined with other mods, say a less restrictive exhaust. Richard :smw:

New brakes......
Had my new 3G brakes fitted to my ZX on Monday - dead good, much better than stock. A worthwhile upgrade at only £220 delivered (plus labour to fit, coz I'm lazy  ) I took the Corsa to work today and almost crashed at least 4 times, coz I'd got used to the improved Zed brakes and was braking too late....... Richard :)

New wheels on!!

Have I got an import auto box.......?
Hi all I got my ZX back fromt he garage after the 72K service today. The technician didn't replace the auto-box oil as he didn't have the gearbox sump gasket. I thought UK cars had a drain plug on the auto trans, but he said there defo wasn't one..... Any thoughts? Richard :smw:

central locking u/s
Hi mate, mine didn't work when I got it either :( Then neither did the courtesy light..... Turned out to be a bad earth connection. My mechanic found and replaced it in 10 minutes..... Good luck Richard :)
-
Team Dynamic Diablos (wheels) will they fit??
Hi 8BALL Diablos will be available, but only in 18inches + for the ZX. You can get the right widths and offset - IIRC 8x18 front and 9x18 rear I've seen them on a ZX and a Supra, they look ok IMO..... Richard :)

Slick 50
Yup, don't do it....... As for oil, use a decent fully synthetic with a high visco of at least 40. Castrol 10w60 is probably too thick for an N/A as engine temps are lower than a TT. Also it depends on condition and mileage of your engine. A decent oil should contain the essential ingredients from any additive anyway ;) my UK ZX TT has covered 70K and the engine is quiet and smooth - I use Millers CRX 5W40 (£25-ish for 5 litres from Mike Feeney on traders forum, highly recommended) or Shell Helix synth 5w40. HTH Richard :smw:

repitable importers
Doubt it, mate   ;) Richard :slap:

Which one.....
Hi Rich I agree, C13 is the best.... But you may get hassle from PC Piglet for mis-representing the digits :x: And get a "legal" set for MOT time  Richard

Watches
I always wear a watch. I feel like something is missing if I forget to put one on, which is diffucult as I have a different one for every day of the week... :D I tend to wear different style watches to match what style clothes I'm wearing (smart, formal, casual etc). I also like watches and spend nearly as much on them as I do my Zed  ;) My three favourites set me back around £2000 between them (and I'm just looking at another, but don't tell Julia ;) ) while the others were around £80-£200 each, but don't get worn much. Even though I have a clock on my desk at work, plus the one on the PC and the phone right in front of me I still always refer to my watch to check the time..... Richard :smw:
