  1. Some nice choices there...... ......I love the black 'Vette and I've always had a soft spot for the 308  (Moustache and Hawaiian shirt, anyone ;) ) I'm still keeping my ZX; although I bought this 6 weeks ago. 3.5 litres; 0-62 in 5.5 and loads of toys........ :D Richard
  2. Exactly mate........ ..........a Cerbera can pull 0-100mph in around 10 seconds so very little on the road will touch it. Until it breaks down!! Against Macca's car though - that's different  Richard :D
  3. There's loads of threads on this one.......and just as many opinions ;) Avons are crap so don't even think about them on a 300zx. I have had Goodyear GSD3s and they were brilliant; but they lasted 5 minutes! I now have Dunlop SP Sport 9000s all round. They are reasonably priced for a premium brand, they've lasted pretty well so far, the V-tread pattern gives very good grip in the wet and I've had no scary loss of traction moments ether. I'd recommend them - plus you can get them anywhere at short notice, unlike some brands. Richard :D
  4. I'd forgotten about that one - Kevin Keegan dressed as a woman and that......... :mac1: And how young was that fella who is now in Casualty? Richard ;)
  5. Same here..... ......I bought a new throttle position sensor and got my local Nissan garage to set it up to the factory settings (3 years ago) and it has been fine since. Richard :smw:
  6. Most garages I use all have black hoses too - although the diesel nozzle tends to be black. However may garages have so many advertising stickers over the nozzles nowadays that it it not always easy at first glance..... Richard :headvswal
  7. Don't like it either..... .....and the driver's seat is falling apart :x:
  8. That's right...... .....but if you're lucky they will only ask for the last 3 years (like Admiral). Although most companies ask about the last 5. Richard ;)
  9. So true Sarah!! Richard ;)
  10. Depends how many days he worked each week I guess........ ;) ........also did he actually get that personally, or was that paid to a company who hired him out? Don't worry about it - how ever much you earn there will always be someone else who works less hours for twice as much as you get. Richard :smw:
  11. Yeah, she wasn't all that........ ........nice shirt potatoes though :x: Richard
  12. At least they owned up to it and have offered to put it right FOC. That's better than when I collected my Rav from my local garage after an MOT to find that someone had scraped the rear n/s bumper. The b@stards denied it repeatedly and since I could not prove anything, there was nothing else I could do  As for the service, they could offer it FOC as a goodwill gesture but they are under no obligation to do so - after all they have done the work your boss asked them to do and as such are within their rights to expect payment. Hopefully he will get the car repaired to a high standard and they will give him a decent courtesy car whilst it is in the body shop. Richard :smw:
  13. Nice one Lee...... ........And if it were mine, I'd ditch the rear spoiler, fit 99-spec rear lights, lose those interior mats and finally.........put the air con back! :nelson: Seriously though - congrats on your purchase and it's great the car is staying in the club. Richard
  14. 1992 car may just be an S2....... .....or it has had a re-trim ;) Richard :D
  15. What Andy said! Only S2 models had the alcantara trim and leather arm rests. Earlier models all had tweed trim as standard. Those with leather seats had tweed door cards and glove box etc. UK spec cars had the nicer dark coloured tweed trim though; hence it looks different from J-spec cars. Richard ;)
  16. Looks good mate...... ........I can see why you are undecided!! Richard ;)
  17. Exactly! 0-100mph is a better comparison as it can also show how good "overtaking" ability might be; say 40-100. Any car with a 0-100 of below 20 seconds is reasonable; below 15 is pretty damn quick! Note that the 0-100 time for a 3000gt (UK spec, stock twin turbo) was just over 16, compared to 14 for a 300zx. Their 0-60 times are fairly close so that proves Legrath's point........ ;) Richard :D
  18. Or both!!!! I assume it's not a daily driver?? Richard :)
  19. Where did you watch it mate? Despite loving the original and my comments above, I still have to see it........ .......for research and comparison purposes of course :wack: Richard :)
  20. Very nice mate!! Always loved TVRs but I've never had the courage to buy one....... Richard :)
  21. Correct!! It's just wear and age taking its toll on the components. 15 years of hauling a 1500kg+ car from high speed to a standstill will have that effect  Overhaul the calipers (they can seize), new brake fluid and a quality set of discs & pads and the brakes will be just fine. You don't have to spend £££££s upgrading them, unless you have serious BHP modifications.... Richard :)
  22. Don't worry about it - as long as they work properly and flash orange for the right number of times a minute then no-one will ever notice. Remember, the European/UK spec Z32s do not have front fogs like the J-spec cars - UKs have the indicators and side lamps in the fog slot with dark blanks where the J-spec indicators are. This was because, for some reason, the J-spec set up was "not suitable for European standards." So in theory, all J-spec indicators should be illegal. Really, if anyone's J-spec car has failed an MOT on this I'd be surprised!!! Richard
  23. Just a couple of minutes - 5 when it's really cold outside (say below 3 degrees). Less than 3/4s of a mile after leaving home and it's warm enough for the heater to give hot air. Richard :)
  24. I've just renewed the road tax on my Rav-4 and it came to the princley sum of £205....................... ....................it was "only" £190 last year - an increase of almost 8% and for what? The "privilege" to drive on pot-holed, un-repaired roads for another year; spied on by traffic cameras and that's all before filling the tank with a very expensive liquid that makes it go, from which our great rulers receive 80% of the proceeds  Born free, taxed to death :xxx: B@stards!! Richard
