dear god it back on
Never watched it and never will. I'd seriously consider dangling my gonads in a blender rather that watch that shite - and all other reality TV shows for that matter...... ......although I used to like Dragon's Den and The Apprentice before they got too "main-stream" Now they are just about cheap entertainment rather than discovering a decent innovative invention or someone actually wanting their "dream job" Richard:rolleyes:

MSN Top 50 Supercars Ever
I read it that way too - after all look where the F1 and Veyron are placed; I guess they are in no particular order...... Richard:cool:

My boss's Aston Martin V8
Couldn't agree more - I could consider swapping my ZX for something like that  Richard:cool:

v6 v v8
I'd have to agree as well. Manta did his himself and I think Friday is doing the Nissan Infiniti conversion. However if you don't have the time or expertise to do it yourself then don't bother - it's just not economic sense mate! Richard:cool:

Black on M4 this afternoon......
I passed a black Z heading slowly east on the M4 (lane 1), before junction 15 (Marlborough) around 2ish this afternoon. I think the reg number ended in PCE, the driver was bald-ish (no offence, I am as well!!) I slowed down but couldn't wave as I was concentrating on not hitting the black Range Rover Sport crawling along at 69mpg in the middle lane. I was in a black Merc SLK. Anyone here - perhaps on the way to/from Z-tech? Richard:cool:

Another Fuel Thread
Exactly! And if it were really about reducing CO2 then the government should expect a severe cut in car use, leading to reduced fuel sales. BUT they are continuing to plan how the extra tax money will be spent, rather than expecting less tax income as we all suddenly get green consciences?? What a great country we live in:mad: Richard:headvswal

Worse than any bumper sticker :D
That always makes me laugh as well........ ........along with all those books telling you the "secret to making millions just like me:wack:" Nothing to do with what a great business they once (may have) had, but more down to charging suckers £19.99 for a fekking useless book:rofl: Richard:tongue:

Who's Got The Best Looking Zed?
Me too:hyper: And Steve300zx has a fine looking Z as well. Richard:)

D.I.Y.dentistry
Bloody hell - you mad b@stard!!! I hate dentists too - I also had a bad experience as a child, but I have managed to find a good dentist at least so I do go regularly now. You'd best get the socket looked at as SMW says, just to ensure infection does not set in. If you can't go to a dentist at least make an appointment with your GP. He may refer you to the dental department of your local hospital so they'll be no charge..... Richard:)

Opinions on the Mini Cooper S
I quite like them....... ....I'd buy one for Julia if she fanced a change from a 4x4! I did the factory tour back in MArch - really interesting following the cars round the production line until they are driven off at the end. I did notice that half of them did not start and had to be pushed off the conveyor - must be the new Peugeot engine they now use:rofl: Richard:)

Auto box advice
Hi Mark It is Ken who diagnosed the fault and he has offered to do the re-build for me!! I have decided to let STA work their stuff on my auto box. Thanks for everone's sugestions (and Jeremy for the 'box) but despite the cost, I know that I will be getting mine built to a known high standard with a 12k mile warranty. With any 2nd hand box, auto or manual, you never know how much life is left in it; I don't want to have another replacement in 12 months time! I think another recommendation for STA from Mark helped make my mind up! Richard:)

Should I go naked
Yup - just as Saz says:)

Big-time Mot Failure
Definately get another quote for the work..... .....and then if the cost is still prohibitive you would probably be best buying another 300zx and diong what Stuart (SMW) said. Good luck mate, Richard:)

Auto box advice
Hi all Since posting the symptoms of my auto box fault a few weeks back, I know know what is wrong. Basically it's fooked! I have no 2nd and o/d is questionable. Therefore I have 3 choices: A full rebuild (by an experienced chap who has been in the auto box business for 30 years and knows his stuff - plus he came highly recommended) for £1200. A manual conversion (I know - but no manual vs auto comments please) A second hand 'box (which may last 10 years or 10 minutes) Your opinions welcome please! Richard:)

Insurance - how are you guys getting it so cheap!?
Hi Rob, I'm the same age as you and live in a low crime area. My Zx is a second car, insured with Lynbrooks (do a search on the name) for under 5k miles PA and I pay less than £300 for an agreed value policy. Richard:)

Whos thinking of Selling because of fuel prices?
I filled my daily driver last week - the Shell garage had run out of regular unleaded so I had no choice but to use Vpower as the computer told me I only had 5 miles to go....:nelson: It cost over £85........ How much longer before a fill-up reaches £100:rant: Richard

water/coolant leak
I'll give you a ring if/when mine ever goes then, Paul...... Richard:)
-
How much coolant do you lose?
Hey Dave, Could you have had cheap antifreeze in the car before your recent drain and refill? Anything slightly alcohol based would simply evaporate when it gets hot..... Richard:confused:
-
water/coolant leak
2-3 hours - I thought the dash etc had to come out! Shows how little I know........:o Although around here you are still looking at £50-60 per hour plus VAT for a decent mechanic, so it could still be well into the £300s all in...:x: Richard:)

Cant believe what i just did
Sorry to hi-jack........ .......but that is a great idea Athene!! I never knew how to do that - I'll give it try in future:slap: Richard;) PS.....Oh, and Forge, glad to hear your car went for a reasonable price considering what some are (or not) selling for at the mo.

water/coolant leak
Does sound like the matrix, mate.... And it's a bitch of a job to change I believe. Don't buy a second hand one - just not worth it, as it may go bad leaving you to do that work again. Contact Mike at MJP for a replacement. Otherwise Zedworld will do the whole job for around the £400 mark IIRC. Richard

look where your petrol money goes
I think I'd rather burn my money than ruin a perfectly good SL...... ..........it's so sad when someone blessed with such wealth was at the back of the queue when taste was being handed out:tongue: Richard:rofl:

Who would you vote for now.......
Conservative for me..... .....although I would like to see a more traditional Conservative government, with lower taxes, sensible public spending (not money wasted on "managers" in the NHS), controlled immigration and more pro-British/less European control over the country and our own laws. A Conservative government that would never have entertained the stuipd "human rights" act that lets scum get away with murder; one that would treat criminals harshly. Not like the namby pamby centre-ground most of today's polititians tread today. I am not entirely sure about David Cameron, but I do believe his government would hand people back control over their lives; rather than seeking to nanny everyone or force ID cards on us. I also believe his government would not force pointless laws on us that are unfair to the majority "in the name of protecting minorities." Laws such as the current, and morally reprehensible, idea that denies a child the right to a father just because a couple of dykes want a kid. The preservation (or restoration) of the idea that a "proper" family, along with the signifinance of marriage, should be encouraged rather than rejected. We desparately need another Maggie in the country's hour of need...:( Richard:x:

Whos thinking of Selling because of fuel prices?
I don't agree with government policy of keeping fuel prices high just to raise revenue. I would support any fuel protests if I thought something positive would come of it; but typically, in this dictatorship of a country under Labour, it won't. Gordon the Grabber will just do as he pleases; just like Tony Bliar [yes I intentionally spelt it that way!] did before him.:xxx: However I won't be selling my ZX as a result; or my daily driver, which is a 3.5 litre facing a possible £400 road tax bill in the near future:( I guess I'll just have to keep paying and hope that one day soon I wake up and find I was having a terrible dream........:o Richard:x:
