insurance companies?
Depends which type of policy you want...... ........classic (2nd car/limited miles); every day driver; highly modified car etc etc. For a classic policy Lynbrooks are very competitive. Adrian Flux is a trader on here, so you can ask their opinion too. Richard

£150k spent on a BMW
It sure is Allan - remember that 5th gear project where Tiff and co tried to build a 200mph car on a (albeit £20/30k) budget? They used a Lotus Esprit V8 turbo and Tiff still couldn't get it to 200! I did think that the new M5 could hit over 200 if unrestricted; IIRC Jezza said so on Top Gear so it must be true....... ......but I reckon not many people would have the balls to try it though. Especially BMW drivers.......:tt2::D;) Richard:biggrin:

New car!
Nice car Paul - I really like the Golf GT TDi - the 170bhp version is supposed to be a bit quick....... ......I have bought 2 of the 140bhp versions as company cars for a couple of colleagues. One guy drives 1500 miles a week in his and it never misses a beat! Good luck with it mate; and I hope your other half is OK following her accident. Richard:cool3:

£150k spent on a BMW
I'd have to agree....... .....I mean firstly look at the price it's up for! Then the standard M5 is no slouch - unrestricting the car will make it good for over 200mph anyway; so why pay £150k to make it hit 220 when you will never use it? Sure we have 155mph+ cars but even on the autobahn or track we'd rarely actually do that speed for a sustained period. And 200+ is way way different to 160.......... Richard:gun_bandana:

Gen good seats
Series one UK spec cars often had just an electric driver's seat - the series 2 cars had both seats electric and heated...... ........both my UK spec Zs conformed with the above; 1st was a 1991 and the 2nd is a 1994! Richard:cowboy:

As above mate - you're wasting time and money trying to repair the one you have on the car now. I should know - I did the repair thing with my first ZX when I bought it (I hadn't discovered this 'site back then). Needless to say I had to buy a fibre glass replica not log afterwards and have that painted and fitted! Richard:cool3:

What other cars do you own?

Long day on the road tomorrow......
Cheers everyone; and thanks for the offer of tea Daz; maybe next time mate...... .......Anyway back safe and sound. And tired!! Plus my client was happy with the meeting and agreed to pay the final balance:thumbup: Sadly no - I took the SLK; no business insurance on the ZX's classic policy. Plus even at silly speeds I can still do that mileage without stopping for fuel:innocent: Richard:biggrin:
