Contact Details
You know - I'm not sure everyone's details are kept on the database! I don't think the system needs a postal address to set up someone as a member.... ......and as for the membership packs; I believe that our membership secretary simply asks for one's address by PM so he can forward them. I could be wrong, but my own investigation has led me to that conclusion. It is a good idea though - and Graham's suggestion would certainly be worthwhile. Belt and braces etc.... Richard:thumbup1:

oil pressure gauge reading zero?!
Yup - that's definitely the sender unit going bad mate! They are quite expensive though (what isn't on a ZX); around £80-ish + VAT for the part.....:helpsmilie: Don't bother wasting money on a 2nd had one; speak to Mike at MJP for a new one. Richard:cool2:

99 spec or not
I've gone for "leave it alone!" I like the real 1999-spec HIDs but I'm not too keen on the chromed inserts on dark coloured cars. Yes, the chromed inserts can give an "updated" appearance to the front end; but the front end is one of the Z32's best features. I reckon it looks good as it is.... Richard:cool3:

z32 crash testing, crash rating?
What Si said...... ......Whilst the Z32 was designed before manufacturers went mad with air bags and seat belt tensioners, the late 1980s and early 1990s saw most car makers stepping up safety features. The Z32 was designed as a 155mph+ car so the passenger compartment was built to withstand impact well. Plus at £35k; it was the most expensive Japanese car sold in Europe (pre NSX and Mk4 Supra); so Nissan probably afforded it with safety features perhaps not featured in their "lesser cars." You only have to search the forums for pictures of ZX accidents where the occupants have walked away to see how well the Z32 fares! Richard:cool3:

Facebook for my son.........
Tough call Alan..... Personally I don't care for Facebook. I am on there (but only by default - a girl at work set me up some time ago) but I rarely visit. There's something I don't like about putting your life on show for the world to see...... .......so I'd be against letting my 10 year old sign up until he's older. But then I'm not a parent; so it is easier for me so say that I would not allow it in the interests of his own safety. Peer pressure forces children to grow up too quickly nowadays; and the innocence and fun of being a child is too often forgotten. Just my humble opinion mate! Richard:)

boot space
I find that the boot on the LWB is fine for a big shopping load! Just put taller things towards the front of the car - nearest the back seat - so that the tailgate can close! Richard:cool2:

Anyone tried a Bluetooth head unit...?
Hi all, Whilst I have hands free phone operation in my daily drive, I don't have it in the ZX. So I was thinking about a CD head unit with built in Bluetooth - anyone have any experience of using one? As I already have a JVC head unit & CD changer, I thought this would be the easiest option; as I don't have to upgrade my boot mounted 'changer... http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/jvc-kd-r801.html It doesn't look bad for £140 - plus it looks like it doesn't need any extra kit for hands free phone use, like some other units do. What do you reckon? Richard:cool2:

List of stolen parts
Cheers buddy. I mean, we're all united by our love of cars and one car in particular. Over the years that I have been on the 300zx scene, many "so called" 300zx specialists have come and gone; but when each one has "gone" it has left a sour taste in the mouths of many. Not to mention an emptiness in their pockets. People have set up in business with fair and admirable intentions to help out the 300zx community - after all they may be old cars now, but they are no less complex now than they once were; and consequently require specialist attention from time to time. It's when we require something "out of the ordinary" that we rely on the "experts" more; leaving ourselves open to all kinds of risk. Like I said - I doubt the individual involved in this sorry affair intended for it to go bad; but as a fellow 300zx enthusiast I would urge him to do what is right. Richard

List of stolen parts
If anyone can help Steve then I would urge them to come forward; this type of thing is not good for the 300zx community (or the whole car club scene for that matter). I sincerely hope that the "culprit" has not intentionally ripped off anyone; and can step up and do the right thing by the persons whom entrusted their cars to him. There may, or may not, be a legitimate reason for his actions; but at the end of the day this whole situation serves as a warning to each and every one of us. Richard:sad:

Ex member ripping people off
Really sorry to hear that Steve..... .....And whilst I can appreciate that sometimes shit happens (like a break-in; for instance) it would be pretty hard to steal something the size of a VG30dett engine. But opinions aside (that's mine and anyone else's) I really feel for you mate. I just hope that you can get the issue resolved to your satisfaction. ATB Richard.

What to do when you no longer like the look of your Gallardo.
Agreed Si..... .....why?? The Gallardo is a work of art:wacko: To steal a phrase from Sir Clint of Eastwood (in The Rookie) ".....The guy should have his :asshole: removed..." Richard:no:

How long have you owned your current Z?
I've had my blue one since the beginning of August 2009. But previously I had my red one for over 6 years. I have to agree with Si's reliability comment too; apart from the PTU going bad within days of buying the red one, and the auto 'box needing a rebuild at around 90k miles, nothing else went wrong with it!
