  1. What he said...... ......I have had 2 Mk3 turbo supras; the second was an imported 3 litre turbo GT spec with the targa roof and digital dash. The J-spec one didn't have 2 cats like the normal UK spec 7mGTE (just 1 so less restrictive) plus mine was running with a cat-back system and K&N filter. And whilst the Mk3 Supra is a decent car with proper old school "muscle car" looks and good performance for its age; both my ZXs would have whipped each of my Supra's asses.... Richard:thumbup1:
  2. I have to agree with you there Jazzy! And having seen your car in the flesh at Zedworld last Sunday, Daz, I reckon it definitely looks best as it is..... ......so I'd leave it alone! Richard:cool3:
  3. So you can - that's a lot of car for the money! Richard:cool3:
  4. Hi Cyrus, As Jeff says - yes; upgrading your bulbs is fine and legal (assuming of course that the bulbs are CE marked......) And anything made by Phillips will be good quality. As for the colour of the light - I personally do not care as unless you do the "earth" modification then the dipped lights go off when you switch to full beam! For me, overall light performance means more than visual effect. So I have gone with Auto Express's recommendations following their product testing. Phillips Xtreme power or Osram Nightbreaker are the only bulb upgrades worth shouting about. The ion coating on "blue bulbs" simply reduces the actual light output. Richard:cool2:
  5. Is this another weekend fun car or will it be a more regular driver? If you're planning on frequent use then I'd stick with something German; like the Porsche or perhaps a Mercedes (old school 500SL is still a classy motor)! The NSX would also be reliable, I reckon but I (personally) would not spend £15k on, what potentially could be, another (almost) 20 year old car. I like the TVR Cerbera; and they can be picked up for quite reasonable money now. They're awsomely fast (around 10 seconds to 100!!) ditto the Lotus Esprit V8 turbo - but both have their own reliability issues and will cost £££££s to fix..... Richard:cool3:
  6. After watching a clip of that, when TG won TV show of the Noughties last night, I have to agree mate!! Richard:gunsmilie::gun_bandana::cowboy:
  7. Just like a 300zx then........ All twin turbo GTOs were manual mate - auto only came on the n/a imports Richard
  8. Well said Dave..................... .......................but the more I see of our present society, the more I think that it has (the emboldened bit) already happened!!! Richard:angry:
  9. Many happy returns Jason......:punk: Richard:thumbup:
  10. I may be wrong - but I don't think you can use snow chains with very low profile tyres......... ........I'm sure the owners' manual for my SLK has a bit about snow chains being fine for the model variants which have 16 inch rims but they must not be used on those with 17 or 18 inch wheels? Richard:1eye:
  11. Good to have you back mate....... .......and that signature too:whistling: Richard:cool3:
  12. As said - if you're careful then you can drive a powerful RWD car in the snow. If you're careful. I have driven my SLK in the snow but it was pants - the traction control kept kicking and cutting all power; so the car wouldn't go anywhere. I switched it off and the wheels just spun as soon as I released the brake...... .........I guess with an auto it's much harder - and then if you come to a steep hill good luck! Then this week every car (I said car BTW; not SUV) I saw failed to climb the hills into my village - leaving loads of people to abandon their rides and walk home!! I have been using our Rav-4 for the last week; it's far easier and one less thing to worry about! Plus I always made it home up those hills that scuppered "normal" cars:smartass: Richard:cool3:
  13. I wouldn't go as far as those two extremes...... .......but i do like sprouts; fresh ones properly cooked! So I voted "heaven in a green ball" as there was no simple "yes I like them" option..........:clown: Richard:thumbup1:
  14. Nice one mate...... .......but your bosses certainly have no Christmas sprit:saddam: And using the economic climate as an excuse is poor!! It's precisely for that reason (ie to lift sprits after a "tight" year) that I decided to remain closed today and give everyone the day off on full pay! We also planned on finishing at 4 yesterday but I thought what the hell and let everyone go once they had finished what they had to - so that was around 1pm:cool2: But I'm pleased it all worked out for you in the end - Merry Christmas!! Richard:flowers:
  15. There's your answer Craig....... ......if you want a good Z for a bargain price then just stop messing about and buy Nathan's car:tt2: Richard:sleep:
  16. Seconded there! Top man Vodkashots - that's the true spirit of Christmas and the Club. And very best wishes to everyone..... Richard:santa:
  17. Hi Iain, It depends on how much you use it! I paid £180 for mine some 4-5 years ago but, like you, I could either buy a better one or upgrade the maps. Thing is, I rarely use it so if I bother to do anything, I'll just go down the map upgrade route..... Richard:cool2:
  18. LoL - yes..... ......you do mate:whistling: Richard:smartass:
  19. Welcome to the club! And that looks a tidy car considering what you paid for it! Good luck with your purchase - you've come to the right place..... Richard:cool3:
  20. Someone once said to me that you're only as young as the woman you feel...... ......Good thing Julia is 5 years younger than me I reckon:thumbup:
  21. Same here too - I fill an old saucepan from the hot tap. Works in seconds and no ill effects in 22 years of driving...... Richard:innocent:
  22. A belated many happy returns mate. Hope you had a good day......... ......and according to national statistics you're well past middle age..... Richard:gunsmilie:
  23. Congratulations mate; she's adorable................! And best wishes to you, your other half and of course Rebecca! Richard:cool2:
  24. Good for you Indy........ .........was there anything else:balloon: Richard:clown:
