  1. Enjoy your hols Jeff - see you on 20th........ Richard:)
  2. Hey Si, You're right there - no contest IMO!! I like & respect the Skylark for what it is but it still looks like a Cortina with an ironing board nailed to the back;) Richard:D
  3. Yes - I don't think the gauge is so bad; it's just that the sender unit is known to pack up. A new unit is around £80 from MJP.... Richard;)
  4. Welcome to the club mate! Richard:)
  5. Welcome to the club Chris! I work in Aylesbury so I'll keep a look out for you mate.... .......there are a few Zeds around Aylesbury at the moment; my office is just off Smeaton Close and I've spotted 2 Zeds in the Ariva bus depot from my window! Craig (ZX-TT) also works/lives nearby too.... Richard:cool:
  6. Sorry to hear that Mike:( I wouldn't know where to start if it happened to me mate - so I'm afraid I have no words of wisdom for you. I just hope you can get things sorted between you with the minimum of fuss, expense and pain. I feel for you buddy. All the best, Richard
  7. I also happen to think that all this talk of climate change; carbon footprint etc etc is nothing more than an elaborate con perpetrated by all governments in the developed world. It's an excuse to tax something else and brain-wash society into bending over and taking it IMO:x: And as for cars and CO2 emissions - more rubbish I reckon. The latest road tax system has nothing to do with tackling a (non-existent) issue but a tax on wealth. Governments believe that newer (performance) cars with large engines are driven by more affluent folk........ People who, incidentally, already pay more in tax as larger engined cars use more fuel; hence pay more fuel tax:o You know, the V5 of my daily driver states something like 242g of CO2; giving me a raod tax bill of over £400 next year. However the car had its first MOT earlier this year and, according to the "Gas Ananlyser" test from Hughes Mercedes-Benz, the emission test results were..... Fast idle: 0.00 PASS Natural idle: 0.00 PASS Not bad for a 3500cc engine eh? Hmmmmmm.....;) Richard:(
  8. Belated best wishes mate - hope you had a good one!! Richard:cool:

  10. Belated best wishes mate - hope you had a good one!! Richard:cool:
  11. Looking good Craig! Richard:cool:
  12. Duly done (until after the meet of course......;)) Hopefully I'll see you all there! Richard:D
  13. Nope - it may be a "second" car and it may live in a nice warm garage; but I'll still try to use it at least once a week.... Richard:cool:
  14. Nice car mate - and possibly the best colour for a 350 too...... Richard:smw:
  15. So true...... ........mine has always been good; but every so often it will just seem extra good! It's hard to explain but it's like when every prod of the accelerator hits its "sweet spot" and the car just goes, stops and corners like your mind says it should:hyper: Richard:)
  16. Yup - that was the idea Gary;) Now winter is upon us I doubt I'll be washing the cars nearly as much so anything that keeps them looking good for longer is just the ticket! Richard:cool:
  17. Not at all stupid mate - I'm also a sensible driver. I don't want to "speed" everywhere; but I would just like to be able to drive at a speed that is safely and reasonably achievable on the roads. If 60 is the speed limit on a clear, straight, dry A road, then 40-45 is too slow in my opinion; and dangerous as it encourages other drivers to perform risky overtaking! I don't break the 30/40/50 limits in towns and villages (well - perhaps subject to a margin of 1-3mph) however on a clear, empty, dry motorway I will, if I have a very long journey, drive as fast as safely possible in accordance with the prevailing conditions!! Richard:)
  18. After reading this year's Auto Express testing I decided to try "Turtle Wax Platinum Extra Gloss Protection" on my daily driver last Sunday..... http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/products/products/234826/car_polish_test.html I've tried numerous waxes as, being black, the car looks great when clean but shows up dirt and water marks so soon after a bout of bad weather. So as this Turtle Wax product beat the best of the rest in their comparisons I thought I'd give it a go - especially at £10 a bottle! I must say I was very impressed at the ease of use and even more so at the car's appearance!! Especially after it has rained each day so far; the car still has that "just cleaned" look with no water marks:hyper: I can highly recommend it - especially to all you folks with black or dark cars! It's not a polish though, more a gloss protector. My car previously had been polished with "Colour Magic" followed by a coat or 2 of Meguairs NXT before Sunday. But I just washed it with the matching shampoo and applied the new stuff.......... Richard:cool:
  19. Is it just my imagination or are (other) people driving slower nowadays? I don't mean because of traffic volume; I mean conciously (or unconciously:rolleyes:) driving slower. I know it's dark during the evening drive home but even in good clear daylight I find more and more people driving (and not just the old in their Hondas or Rovers) at 5 or 10mph below the limit; whatever that may be. Even not exceeding 60 on dual carriageways or motorways!! On my daily commute; along a nice straight national speed limit road, it seems most people potter along at no more than 45. In fact this week Ive seen the same dope in a Golf driving at 35 - and then he slows to 25 for the short 40mph section:rant: I hate to admit it; but I have found myself driving a little agressively just to make sure I don't get held up! EG identifying the slowies early and just pulling out in front of them and booting it - or overtaking in the slightest gap:wack: I think this has been discussed not too long ago; but what do you reckon? Have most people got points so they're not risking any more? Credit crunch/high fuel prices; so they're saving money? Brainwashed by all this "carbon footprint" nonsense? Richard:confused:
  20. Hey Allan - is that for the nurses uniform.....??:p Richard:cool:
  21. I had this one on my old red Z and it passed many MOTs..... ......basically it was the standard height with the correct size lettering; however it was "trimmed" to the width of the 99-spec mounting section. Of course having only 5 characters helped it fit......;) Richard:D
  22. Sure is mate - and the other way round too; classic car tickets get you into MPH..... ......the only extra bit you pay for is the TG live performance! Richard:D
  23. Just for you mate - a couple more; enjoy.......... And yes - it's definitely worth the trip:bow: Richard
  24. Cheers Daz! I go to the classic car show every year and, of course, finish up in MPH. This was my first time for the TG live show though; and I will definitely do the whole thing again next year...... Richard:cool:
