New member looking for a Zed!
Auto or manual just buy the best car you can! The autos are not bad; they are on par performance wise with manuals but deliver the power "differently!" You can always convert it to manual later...... I drove a few of each when I was first looking and didn't really mind either; it just so happened that the best example was an auto. So I bought it - then when the time came to get rid I found another superb ZX; which also happened to be an auto! It just happened that way.......;) Good luck with your search mate! Richard:D

New member looking for a Zed!
Welcome to the club mate! Loads of good advice posted so far - just take your time and pick a nice one. Stock for stock a decent twin turbo "should" be quicker than an MR2 turbo; to 60 it's probably close but from 70+ the extra power and torque will give the Z a greater advantage...... There are one or two decent examples in the "for sale" section at the mo! Richard;)

What is your Day/Night Job?
Hey Pete - good to see you're still around mate! It's no mystery now mate - you're cover has been blown........;) That sounds pretty intersting though!! I do nothing as exciting as some of you peeps - I'm (simply) the finance director for a platform lift company.... Richard:smw:

Velour vs leather
Leather all the way for me....... I think the interior of any car has its overall quality enhanced by leather upholstery; in fact I reckon I will always have leather seats in any car I buy now! I've never thought its a problem in summer (I use the AC) or winter (heated seats) TBH; in either my Z or SLK. I'm looking for another Rav-4 for Julia at the moment and it's hard to find one that fits the bill; purely because I want leather seats:( Richard:)

Apexi Induction Kits
As with most OEM items, they are a compromise between performance, noise, emissions, economy etc. The ZX needs a lot of air to feed each bank - especially in twin turbo guise; hence it needed the 2 panel filters to give sufficient surface area to maintain flow. To squeeze 2 flat rectangles in there required some complex fiddling!! The Apexi (along with K&N et al) provide better flow of cooler as there is no longer any air box to restrict it; hence "can" offer slight gains in performance. But at the cost of increased noise (not that we'd care), although I doubt emissions or economy would falter by much. In the main though, the 'filter upgrade enhances other mods like a freeflow exhaust and/or chip; as opposed to a stand alone performance modification. I do understand your point about why manufacturers bother with the full air-box thing though; it's probably down to various governments' rulings on safety or something..... Richard:)

Apexi Induction Kits
Yup - if you're binning the air box, just remove the top cover (under the headlight panel); remove the retaining bolts/screws and bend the bottom bit in half. It comes out much easier that way! Richard:cool:

will this m5 be a bargain?
Nice...... .......but I was tempted by an Aston a couple of years ago. I had the choice of a 2006 Merc SLK350 or a 1998 DB7 for the same sort of cash. As much as I've always wanted an Aston, but at £28k+ for a 10 year old one (with their questionable reliability), the Merc won hands down as it's my daily driver! Richard;)

Anyone know about decent watches.
Keep it mate - I have a Breitling Colt Chronometer and it's a top quality timepiece. It's tough too; it hasn't accumulated half the scratches to the clasp/strap that my Tag has, despite being worn almost as much! Richard:)

Asda
I also agree with you Isaac....... ......TBH; I doubt anyone working in Asda (or anywhere else for that matter) would even notice what charity wristband (if any) another person was wearing. Complete crap! Richard:(
