  1. Aw, sorry to hear that Jane. I hope she makes a speedy recovery, Best wishes Natasha! Richard:chef:
  2. Happy birthday mate - have a great day!! Richard:cool2:
  3. Since buying my blue ZX from PhilP in the summer of 2009 I have, today, passed the milestone of 10,000 miles under my ownership of it! And it still brings a smile to my face each time I drive it.........:thumbup1: Richard:rockon:
  4. I see..... ......but do remember that driving other cars on your own policy is usually restricted to 3rd party cover. And the car in question has to be insured elsewhere too (although that isn't going to be an issue as you have just explained!). If you do that, it would be safer if you were also a named driver on your dad's policy for the ZX. But be careful, if the insurer can prove you are still the main driver of the ZX, they may refuse to pay out in the event of an accident. Richard:helpsmilie:
  5. LOL please don't mate - but I have slightly edited my reply before you posted yours......
  6. It should mean that you, as the main policy holder/driver, are insured to drive other cars (not belonging to you); albeit on a 3rd party basis only. But anyone else named on the policy (eg your wife) is not covered to drive other cars under your policy; IE that your insurers will cover other named drivers to drive your car only. Best check with your insurers that you can still drive other cars though..... Richard:cool3:
  7. Cool...... .......It may be an urban myth, but years ago I read somewhere that the Japanese hid a coin in their cars as they left the factory for good luck. I don't know if there's any truth in that though - I also once read that because the Japanese are quite superstitious, they always made their cars look like they were smiling. The thought being that cars would be possessed by the spirits, so a smiling car would only attract a good spirit...... .....so what does that say about the evil, inane grin of a 300zx twin turbo...... Richard:laugh:
  8. Your insurance company should cover the replacement cost, less your windscreen excess (usually £50 -£80) without affecting your NCB. So why the worry about the cost of the screen? Richard:detective:
  9. Welcome Sandy - and good luck in your search for a 300zx! Richard:sorcerer:
  10. Welcome to the club mate! Richard:sorcerer:
  11. Welcome to the club mate! Richard:sorcerer:
  12. Welcome to the club and congratulations on your purchase! I look forward to seeing your pics...... Richard:sorcerer:
  13. Flippin 'eck Lee - that's one hell of a job mate! Well done for taking it on, I reckon having seen what you have had to do, I'd bottle it and stick with the manual system....:scared: Richard:cool3:
  14. Ditto......
  15. Good find Mike...... ......Now I'm in a quandry. Julia is doing the Race For Life tomorrow so I was thinking if visiting my dad for Father's Day. But faced with the choice of driving into London or popping over to Windsor....... Hmmmmm Richard:winkiss:
  16. LOL - women:tt2:
  17. I agree with you mate! Although I hated them in the 1980s when I was growing up; as they were the equivalent of a "chav" car that we all take the piss out of today. But now that all the kids back then crashed them into trees, only the good ones are left - so it's cool to like the old Capris, Escorts and Cortinas that filled the streets when I was a boy!! Richard:thumbup1:
  18. LOL - I understand mate!! Richard:wink:
  19. Looks a nice car mate - and I do like that interior!! Good luck with your new purchase. Even if it is Italian..... Richard:flowers:
  20. Good news on the MOT mate - hang on in there for the 12 days though; it'll pass quickly enough! Richard:sorcerer:
  21. LOL - unless he drove an old Cortina with the traffic light air freshner haning from the mirror and half smoked B&H in the ashtray....... Richard:winkiss:
  22. I'm the same Nick; I have been on the odd race day out, but I was there for the occasion and not the betting...... ......apart from the odd pound or two for fun only. I am very sceptical of gambling on any level and don't believe that one can ever prosper from it. Richard:chef:
  23. Amen brother! Plus it might do well on old Yank Tanks - the Americans love their oil additives; it's big business over there....... ........but what do they know about cars? The enlightned US citizens buy German or Japanese..... Richard:cowboy:
  24. Like he said; although for a ZX they'd charge you £500-ish+ over here...... ........ So you'll get a much better system for less money if you go with the Mongoose or Japspeed. So does Powerflow have much of a presence in Eire Monkey? I guess there might be an outlet in Dublin possibly..... Richard:cool2:
  25. Hi Dave, Personally I would not use oil additives in any of my cars. A decent fully synthetic oil will contain all the ingredients necessary to protect and lubricate your engine without the need for slick-50 etc etc. From memory slick-50 contains PTFE which may clog oilways and, as Peach says, wreck your turbos! This stuff may work wonders in old-school engines, but in a modern high performance (or turbod) engine, best steer clear! Richard:yes:
