  1. .....is it just me or is it shite? To put it bluntly, I rarely have time (or inclination) for most TV so I won't pay for cable, sky etc etc. Instead I have Freeview which came built in with both TVs in the house. But it seems the reception has gotten a lot worse over recent months; watching (or recording) on digital sometimes brings up lots of interferrance, almost like pixellating the picture. This happens on all channels, including One to Five if watched in digital as opposed to good, old fashioned, reliable analogue..... Any ideas please folks - could it be the aerial or is digital TV just rubbish? If it's the latter, heaven help us all once analogue disappears for good:cursing: Richard:helpsmilie:
  2. Congratulations Rich - that's an amazing achievement mate!! Richard:cool3:
  3. Me too.....
  4. I understand Jane - which is exactly why you whack in the court summons now. You have enough evidence without trading standards; and you have given the garage ample opportunity to put things right. For a £1k debt the cost for the court papers is about £35-40 ish IIRC. Do it - and good luck! Richard:wink:
  5. Yup - 'Tis done! And hopefully I will be able to make it too, so I look forward to seeing everyone there!! Richard:sorcerer:
  6. Many happy returns mate! Richard:happybday:
  7. Do just that Jane. They are pitching their hopes on you not bothering; but whack in a summons from the small claims court (it's not expensive) for the grand or so that you're owed. Chances are they'll just fold like Superman on laundry day and pay you back, rather than face court and reputation damage etc. Being a business, they'll have to fund their own costs for defence regardless of whether they win or lose. It'll be cheaper for them to give your money back. Richard:flowers:
  8. That looks superb Paul..... .....and it makes me think about a 99-spec front more and more!! Richard:cool2:
  9. Whilst I was never a fan, it's a terrible waste of a life. Only 27.... RIP. Richard
  10. You've not been near the railway lines have you mate......?? Richard:winkiss::whistling:
  11. That is so true - the ZX is one car I can drive all day and not suffer from aches and pains etc. Nissan got the comfort and ergonomics dead right IMO.... Richard:cool3:
  12. Happy birthday mate! Richard:santa:
  13. There's also the percieved higher running costs of the 300zx - a v6 twin turbo generally means 2 of everything...... .....not to mention that with Supras, Skylines and Scoobies etc; it's probably cheaper to up the power than with the ZX. I can see the appeal of the Skyline and Supra, but Scoobs and Evos have never done it for me. I prefer a GT coupe, rather than a saloon car with a big spoiler nailed to it..... Richard:biggrin:
  14. Welcome (back) to the club - and sorry to see you are selling up mate. Richard:flowers:
  15. Welcome to the club Tim - and great choice of colour if I may say so..... ....regarding your a/c, get your car to Jeff at Zedworld. When I bought mine the a/c didn't work as the condenser had a hole in it. I called the local a/c specialist who quoted an obscene price - he reckoned the whole front of the car had to come off....!! Took it to Jeff and IIRC he charged me about £150 for a replacement condenser and £80 for the re-gas; all plus VAT. Job done and mine works perfectly; ice cold even on the hottest days!! Richard:sorcerer:
  16. All done - now on one thread! As for the dates, there always will be some who cannot make it unfortunately. So I propose we pick date and stick with it; if anyone cannot make the first one, then we arrange a second meet later on in the year. Hopefully those who miss the first one can make the second..... So now that the 7th August is out, do we have a sufficient turn out for 31st July....? Richard:thumbup1:
  17. Agreed! My other cars are much newer (2009 and 2006) but the ZX is always my choice for holidays and it has never let me down so far! Richard:cool3:
  18. Trickey one for me that....... .....I think the rear fogs in the bumper look dated now, but I prefer the "normal" UK style number plate. So I thought I'd be different from the crowd and vote UK spec. Plus I have one so it must be best.... Richard:cool2:
  19. 31 August is a wednesday mate - I know that as I have a track day blatting around North Weald in a V12 Aston; a Ferarri 360 and an Audi R8 booked.......... Richard:cool2:
  20. That's good for me as well at the minute (actually most weekends usually are); so do we have any news on when this will actually take place? It would be a great event for the club and our members, so come on everyone. Let's get this sorted once and for all!! Richard:wink:
  21. I've just seen this thread - and I'm lost for words mate:ohmy: You have to report it to the police; even if they probably can't (or won't) do anything. Thing is, do you really think this low-life will do anything now - or is he just being a pathetic keyboard ninja? I really hope you get things sorted mate; this type of thing is not right at all. Good luck buddy, Richard
  22. They are nice wheels and suit the 300zx to a tee! I look forward to the pics of them on the car mate.... Richard:cool2:
  23. Welcome to the club mate!! And my learned friend here makes a good point...... ......not to mention that the oil cooler on the J-spec auto 300zx is not really up to the job of coping with the harder driving conditions here in the UK. So to preserve your auto 'box, make sure that the transmission fluid is changed (properly - ie empty the torque convertor as well) by someone who knows the 300zx. And then, upgrade your 'cooler to the larger UK spec item. The auto 'box is not bad, as Nissan did their best to match it with the high performace characteristics of the car. Whilst it cannot compare with the latest generation "sequential" autos produced by Mercedes or BWM etc, it is still a better installation that what you might find in "ordinary" cars! My advice would always be to buy a 300zx in the best condition you can find; whether that be an auto or manual, J-spec or UK. And enjoy it for the car it is!! Richard:cool2:
  24. Welcome (back?) to the club mate - that looks like a nice car you have found there!! Richard:cool3:
  25. Top work Pete...... ......The club spirit is definitely alive and well in you matey!! Richard:sorcerer:
