Central locking & air con
I'm not 100% sure about JDM cars; but I don't think they came with remote alarms as car crime is not such a problem over there as in the UK. So I'd guess no to the remote locking on that basis - certainly on earlier models anyway.... ....As for UK spec cars, I think that the later series 2 versions might have come with remote locking/alarms. If not, it was no doubt an optional extra.... I must dig out my sales brochure and check!! Richard:yes:

Audi A3 quattro any good in the snow?
If you are wanting to replace the Cayenne for something equally (or reasonably equally) as good in bad weather, then yes mate - I would. Living in the Chilterns myself, we do get snow and ice each winter, so something that can handle the snow (and make it up/down the many hills) is really a must if you still need to get out and about. Sure it may be for just 3-4 weeks a year; but something that drives like a car the rest of the time yet won't get stranded in the occasional bad weather certainly makes sense to me. Richard:cool2:

Castrol Edge 5w40
No worries mate - I've always used a decent 5w40 fully synthetic and it's just fine!! Richard:cool2:

classic muscle cars
If I were thinking US muscle car, then I'd do the same - although I'd go for the 1982-ish version. In black. And do the whole Knightrider thing!!! Then for classic V8 power, but with the performance and reliability to match, for me it would be the Porsche 928 S4 or Gt/GTS...... Richard:cool2:

Thread Closed!!!! lol!! Club suggestions??
Now that is one well thought out suggestion! Although at present we have good old MJP to source/supply our parts, this can only last as long as the car continues to have a big following in the USA. As Mike can still import spares in bulk for our benefit. But no doubt the day will come.....! Richard:cool2:

Castrol Edge 5w40
No, you're spot on with that mate!! As for the 5w30 - that is too thin; Nissan recommended a 10w40 originally so the "40" part is most important. I'd certainly not use a "30" rated oil in a 17+ year old twin turbo engine where engine compartment heat is a major issue! So to answer the original question; yes Castrol Edge 5w40 is just fine for a 300zx. Richard:cool2:

Members / Reg Users Banlog
**Update** Ban now upgraded to permanent; that kind of language and behaviour towards the club and its administrators will not be tollerated. Neil will receive the customary e-mail and be given the chance to appeal. **update 2** As I have received 3 e-mails in succession; each full of 4-letter word abuse Neil has no chance of having his ban rescinded. Anyone ever had a ford cougar?
No; to answer your question exactly....... .....but given the choice of a Cougar or a Celica GT, then it would be the Celica without hesitation! The Cougar was more modern then the Calibra, but IMO lagged behind the Celica, 200sx and Corrado. By a long way!!! Just in my opinion of course......:sweatdrop: Richard:cool2:

Sold my zed
Sorry to see it go Gary; I always liked your black one - one of my forum favourites if I'm honest...... ......but I do like your shorty as well (and prefer a tidy red ZX over a black one:oops:) so I'm pleased you found a worthy buyer for it mate!! Congrats on the sale matey!! Richard:winkiss:

Thanks Jeff!
Yup - Jeff's a top fella alright; always willing to help out and is without doubt a serious 300zx guru...... Nice one!! Richard:chef:

Thread Closed!!!! lol!! Club suggestions??
Hi everyone, with the exeption of Andy earlier, the committee has been notably absent on this thread to see how things would develop. And develop it has - (mainly...) into the kind of intelligent and reasonable debate that I would have expected from forum members who have something worthwhile to say. All I would like to add, is that we do read threads like this and we do take note of the worthwhile things that our members have to say. We do hold "conference call" meetings from time to time, to discuss the running of the forum and what we can do to improve things - hence the introduction of the "club & website suggestions" section a while back..... We have taken note of some of the content of this thread (and Voddy's previous one about JAE) and have already begun conversations among ourselves. So all I can say for now, is "watch this space...."
