Tooth whitening...
LOL - following on from Allan's thread about ingrown whiskers I thought I'd ask where we stand on this topic..... Whilst I have always maintained good oral hygiene with brushing, flossing and Listerine; my teeth have always been more ivory than white. I have never smoked but years of rich/spicy food and wine/beer have obviously not helped. I have seen my dentist about it and signed up for the whitening treatment (I won't try the cheap DIY kits you can buy on the 'net!!) - followed up with a new crown and possibly a veneer or two if necessary. So am I being too girly-vain, suffering from a mid-life crisis or is it acceptable.....?? Richard:biggrin:

ingrown whiskers
Yup - that works for me too!! Julia is a beauty therapist as well and I was prone to the dreaded ingrowing whiskers until she got me following the advice above! Richard:yes:

New subscription fees......!!
Hi everyone, We have been busy looking various areas of the club and how we can make some improvements for the benefit of all our members. The most obvious place to begin with, was the subscription charges - as we're all ever conscious of the cost of things nowdays! So from the 1st January 2012 there will be a reduction in club membership fees. The initial sign-up subscription will remain at £20 for the first year; to cover the cost of the membership packs. However thereafter, the renewal will be reduced to £10 per year. The traders subscriptions will also remain unchanged. The committee would like to thank the membership for its continued support. Regards, Richard Smith Club secretary On behalf of the committee

New wheels
Great looking wheels Gary - I loved the set you had on your black Z so I do like these for sure!! And 235 on the front is probably for the best; any wider and I hear of tramlining issues...... Richard:thumbup:

Bye bye TalkTalk.....
Following my earlier thread regarding the crap bradband and crappier customer service I received from TalkTalk, I have now ditched them. For good!! I always kept my telephone with BT and have just switched my internet to them as well. And whilst I still live at the arse-end of the exchange, it seems BT can deliver a much faster braodband service. Over 10 times faster to be exact - and that's at peak time, with the suggestion that it might also improve after a 10 day "bedding in" period!! It was so easy to connect and activate their home-hub jobbie too. I was back online within about 10 minutes, without a hitch.... .....Plus I can sign up to their fibre-optic service when it becomes available here in March 2012 for even faster web access. Top marks BT - I am (so far) a very happy customer:thumbup: Richard:clap:

18" or 19" ?????
I'd go with 18s myself - and have!! Don't get me wrong - there are some fine cars out there on 19s (PaulC's for example). But I will never skimp on tyres as there's no substitute for the best quality rubber on whatever you drive. So as I stick to premium brands on all my cars (well, Goodyear/Continental/Bridgestone - nothing else will do) economically speaking, 19 inch wheels on a car with a voracious appetite for rear tyres could bankrupt me!! But 18s are not so bad. As for "rubbing issues" that won't be a problem if you adjust the profiles; since the over all running radius will remain the same. IE 265/35/18 = 265/30/19. No problem! winter advice
All good advice - and a great link posted by Gary.... .....But me? Well, whilst I have a daily drive, I still tax and insure my ZX all year round as I just cannot resist occasionally taking it out on those sunny, cold, dry winter mornings!! Sure, I leave the ZX (and daily drive) at home on snowy icy days, as I can pinch Julia's 4x4 for that; but I always like to get the ZX out for a blast once a week if possible. Or if weather permits, for my New Year jaunt to Cornwall..... Richard:flowers:

Swapping over.
Hi Tony - it will; just like Graham says though the ECUs are different batween UK and J-spec..... .....but am I reading correctly - 96TT and UK spec? UK spec cars stopped in 1994 with only the occasional M reg knocking around! Richard:winkiss:

Oil pressure woes........
Excellent write-up as usual Jeff..... .....and it really does prove that, during fault finding, one should not automatically disregard any part just because it's new!! I seem to remember reading something along those lines in a Haynes manual (or similar) back in 1987.....!! Richard:thumbup1:

The old girl with a bit of make up on..

Nearly ready.
Nice work there Stu!! It is indeed great to see another Uk spec ZX living on - especially such a late one as yours!! Can't wait to see it finished mate.... Richard:sorcerer:

Grey ZX on A413 at Great Missenden
I saw a grey (UK spec I think) ZX parked up on the grass on the A413 (northbound side) on Saturday morning, about 9-ish. I was heading towards Amersham in a blue ZX - I looked across but couldn't see anyone on the car (but then I wasn't driving slowly!!). Was it you - and I hope your car was OK.... Richard:cool2:
