Full synthetic or semi synthetic ??
At full temp, both those grades are the same mate! It's the "40" bit that indicates the viscocity once warm - the first number before the "w" is the ability to circulate round the engine quickly from cold. The lower the number the better it is at very low winter (hence the "w") ambient temperatures. Nissan recommended a 10w40 - and TBH that is fine for the temperatures we see in the UK. Also a semi-synth was originally recommended - but that was over 20 years ago when fully synth was not as advanced or as readily available as now. Personally in a twin turbo, I'd go for a decent brand of fully synth in either 5w40 or 10w40. Whichever one is easiest to obtain (most petrol station brands seem to be 5w40). Richard:cool3:

Hi and good to be on here.
Hi Martin - and a very warm welcome to you mate! That's a nice looking 350 you have there..... I'm certainly looking forward to there being some great joint meets in 2012 and beyond..!! For our members who don't know, Martin is the NEO over on the Zclub - so no doubt he'll be working with our very own Voddy in the near future.... Richard:thumbup:

Forgotten what it was like taking a Z to the petrol station
LOL - close enough Alex!! Actually it was only 3 visits; I already had a full tank when I left home, then about I refuelled around each 250 miles. I have about 1/4 tank left now, and it will remain that way until I next take the ZX out.....:sweatdrop: Richard:clown:

Just crashed the 350Z !
Exactly - I second what Gary just said! Glad you are OK though Rob - and I hope you can get things sorted quickly mate. Richard:cool2:

wet AFM?
I get a similar problem on occasion now that I have switched to the APexi air filter! The old induction cone I had (which I sold to Voddy last year) did not give any problems in wet weather; but the Apexi does sometimes - like accelerating hard uphill...!! I sometimes get a slight hesitationaround 2500rpm - but only in exceptionally heavy rain..... Richard:huh:

Forgotten what it was like taking a Z to the petrol station
Regarding the title..... .....I haven't forgotten Alex! I have just returned from a holiday in Cornwall with my 300zx and I can honestly say, in around 1000 miles, it was no stranger to Mr Shell's forecourts in the last 5 days...... Richard:blush::surrender:

er.....kinda new
Hi Lexx, Welcome to the club mate! Nice 350 and VXR too.... As for LakeZ, we should alao have a bit of a presence this year as we have renewed our old alliance with the Zclub..... And if you're looking for a 300, I can also vouch for this car as I've seen it myself too. Daffy has really lavished his attention on the car and it's a trully worthy example! Richard:cool3:

Replaced steering wheel appearance - help
My opinion, for what it's worth, the 300zx is a GT car and not a racer. So I reckon that the stock wheel is probably the best...... Failing that, the one Rose initially posted is better than the other suggestions so far. Otherwise the predictable Momo Millenium or the newer chunkier Millenium (whetever it's called), whilst a common upgrade, better suit the car. All in my humble opinion of course - we all have different tastes and ideas; it's what makes this place so interesting!!! Richard:flowers::laugh::thumbup1:

update picture with the OE turbo wheels
Looking good there mate! Yup; me too - I also remember seeing a pic of a US spec car with a nice set of deep-ish dish split rims, which were of similar pattern to the OEM wheels.... Richard:chef:
