  1. Welcome to the club mate! Richard:thumbup:
  2. Yup - agree also. The sender always goes bad in a ZX which gives a low (or zero) pressure reading when up to temp. You'd soon know if the oil pressure was low - you'd hear the engine sounding like a bag of spanners...... And that's a damn good price; Nissan unit is around £90:oops:
  3. I know what you mean mate - it was just wierd how the vibes started after my new discs were fitted and the re-balancing made little improvement until I put the spigots on..... ...as the car ran nicely without them until the new discs went on!! Just odd - would both the mechanic, and laterly the second tyre monkey, have put the wheels on wrongly? I guess anything is possible......:1eye: Richard:confused1:
  4. You're welcome mate - and I'm pleased to hear the good news about your mum. I hope all works out well for you and your family Anthony; we're all right behind you mate! Richard:cool3:
  5. Hi Anthony, donation sent mate - and I hope all is well with your dad. ATB Richard PS - just to clarify; this has my permission to run.
  6. Yup - as Allan says welcome back!! And thanks for your support mate. Much appreciated....:sorcerer:
  7. Exactly matey - it's staying blue for sure....!!
  8. Hi everyone, Our new IT guru Lee (Jaikai) has been working hard on upgrading the forum software to a new version. This upgrade is now complete and ready to go..... .....So to give you all advanced warning, the forum will temporarily shut down at midnight tonight (Friday 10 February 2012) for around 30-40 minutes; to enable Lee to switch us over to the brand new version. Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience whilst this work is carried out; but once done we will have a newer and better forum to enjoy!! Over to you Lee - and many thanks for all your efforts mate - I look forward to seeing it!! Richard For the committee
  9. I have experience that too..... ...when I had my new alloys fitted the tyre dude said there was no need for the spigots as the ZX has studs and nuts to hold the wheels in position?? And I had no vibration. When I had the front discs replaced a few months later, I was getting steering wheel vibe at 70-80mph. I took the car in to have the wheels re-balanced and the (different) tyre fitter said whilst one wheel was "slightly" out of balance, the problem was lack of spigots. Driving home, sure enough the wheel vibes were still there. So I put the spigot rings on myself, went out for a spin and guess what - no more vibes!!! So I can endorse that theory. Richard:yes:
  10. ".....................Even the skeleton of a goat was found, assumed to be a source of fresh milk for the soldiers...................." Hmmm, it it just me, or is anyone else thinking that might not have been the only reason they had a goat down there......:lol:
  11. A belated happy birthday mate! Richard:cool2:
  12. I'm really pleased for you Dave!! Great to hear some positive progress mate!! Richard:clap:
  13. Sounds good advice there Paul - personally I'd never buy cheap brands or part worns.... .....I only buy brand new premium makes; SLK runs on Conti MO fitments, the ZX on Contis/Goodyears/Bridgestones/Dunlops and Julia's Rav on Bridgestone Duellers. Yes, it's expensive but that's how much I value our lives!!! However I have driven my ZX on crap tyres - my red one had new Avons when I bought it and they were terrible in anything other than warm dry conditions:ohmy: Hence I (possibly mistakenly) thought that if funds were tight for someone, then perhaps part worns of a premium brand might be better than some dodgy Wanli or Linlong rubbish....... Richard:boat:
  14. Personally I'd buy a set of Brembos from e-bay...... ...they're only about £20-£30 and naturally top quality components! Richard:yes:
  15. For what it's worth..... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coup%C3%A9 And for everything else - a 300zx, which ever version from 2+2, 2+0, NA, TT, auto or manual, they are all good..... ....which is why we have one and why we are members of this club..... Richard:sweatdrop::wink:
  16. Have a great time Paul.... ....and I hope you get there OK. You know, namby pamby UK health and safety regs etc - hope your flight gets off on time....!! Richard:flowers:
  17. I agree. They are the only contact between you and the road; don't skimp on poor quality tyres!! If funds are an issue, perhaps try and get some reasonable part worns - otherwise stick with a tried and tested brand. Richard:chef:
  18. Back on topic.......:innocent: .....I really like the look of your dash - top job I reckon! And if you re-sprayed the yellow centre panel to match it will finish it off nicely..... .....IMO of course! Richard:thumbup:

Similar story down here Dave..... ....although there's still 5-6 inches of the stuff on the ground and no sign of it going before tomorrow. The Merc is buried under loads of it; but I have brushed it all off of Julia's Rav-4 so no prizes for guessing how I'm getting to work on Monday!! Richard:lol:
