  1. I'm no expert, but I doubt it's the master cylinder. More like a seized caliper - and by undoing the bleed nipple you have lost all hydraulic pressure in the system now. Sounds like you need to repair/replace the caliper(s); bleed the system and ensure it is filled with nice clean brake fluid! Richard
  2. LOL - I can believe that as well. Not too many old Mondeos around here, but most of the Mk1/2 models I have seen are all in that peacock blue colour with taped-up bumpers!! Richard:lol:
  3. I think that tyre brand/quality makes a difference; as does having the wheels correctly balanced and the allignment spot on..... As long as the new over-all size of the aftermarket wheel/tyre combo is not too far from stock, it should not be any worse. Just my opinion of course.... Richard:innocent:
  4. Yup - stick with that advice Scot; you can't go wrong there matey! Richard:yes:
  5. Many happy returns mate! Richard:happybday:
  6. Yes - I have the "push" done in white...... ......but after taking the ZX out this morning, I stand corrected - the writing is on the button itself and not the little triangle cover!! Richard:thumbup1:
  7. Yup - mine has the same piece there as well - in fact it has the word "push" embossed on it!! My blue ZX was missing that little tab when I bought it - but I stole it from my red ZX before I handed it over to the new owner....... Richard:cool2:
  8. Absolutely rediculous - you just couldn't make that up...... I think it's wrong that councils wield that kind of daft power - especially as most urban councils are run by car hating bearded PC eco-warriors; who won't be happy until we are all living in caves eating plankton. Richard:excl:
  9. Welcome to the club mate! Richard:thumbup:
  10. Me too - either these or the latest Phillips Extremes are probably the best "normal" halogen bulbs you can buy. http://www.autobulbsdirect.co.uk/H1-Philips-X-treme-Vision-100-Headlight-Bulbs.html Forget the gimicky "blue tinted" rubbish; leave those to the Saxo boys as it's a fact that the blue coating robs the light output! Richard:cool2:
  11. Wow - tidy job there Rose! It's coming on nicely.... Richard:cool2:
  12. Nice one Daz - thanks for your support and welcome back mate!! Richard:donatello:
  13. Yes - be careful matey!! I have toyed with buying a second hand Vantage on may an occasion..... But the rumours surrounding reliability (and the potential repair costs) have always put me off. I would consider the newest shape Jag XKR though (not the bloated old ones) - although I'll probably remain sensible and stick with Merc. Richard:tt2:
  14. Happy birthday mate! Richard:thumbup1:
  15. That is probably because the Astra has trouble putting the 375bhp through its front wheels. IIRC the torque steer on the previous Astra Turbo (with 230-ish bhp) was so bad that the car was deemed undrivable if you booted it!! Richard:oops:
  16. Hybrids = pointless..... .....for sure fossil fuels will run out eventually so why are manufacturers wasting their time with hybrids; if not to please the daft leanings of the eco-warriors. Hydrogen is where the future really should be - it's one of the most abundant substances on earth; so why not develop more cars which can run on hydrogen? Richard:thumbdown:
  17. Same here..... ....can't be bothered TBH. One internet 'site taking up my spare time is more than enough - if you know what I mean....:whistling: Richard:winkiss:
  18. Brilliant!! Richard:cool3:
  19. no probs - I thought you were asking for advice, so I moved it to "help and advice!" Hope that helps mate! Richard:chef:
  20. Moved to more suitable section for you mate......:cool3:
  21. Hi all, This event is getting ever closer and, if anyone wants to book a track session, now's the time to be thinking about it!! For further information please see the link below: http://zclub.net/forum/179729-post1.html Richard:thumbup1:
  22. Nice one Ian....! I have just posted a thread about Japfest as it's getting ever closer - so the sooner you get in touch with Martin the better matey!! Richard:thumbup1:
  23. Has to be the clear variety IMO mate.... Richard:cool3:
  24. Not really my thing - but I do agree that the red car is miles better. In fact, I would not be unhappy with the red car myself...... Richard:sailor:
