  1. Impressive..... .....but one of us simply had to say that.....:innocent: I'll say mate - he sure held on to it though; that's some good driving!!!
  2. Moved to correct section.......:flowers:
  3. I thought carrot too...... .....and I have no idea why??? Richard:1eye:
  4. Nice one Daffy - I do love those new wheels mate!! Not 100% sure on the white, but they are fantastic wheels so I will forgive them for having white spokes. Especially as they really suit the car.... Richard:thumbup:
  5. Very sorry to hear that Jeff - she was as much a part of Zedworld as you, Lynda and Jamie. My thoughts and best wishes are with you all mate, Richard & Julia:cry:
  6. That year sure went by fast - happy birthday to little Abby as well....!! Richard:cool2:
  7. Welcome to the club mate! Richard:rockon:
  8. There is another potential answer here...... .....the speakers and rear amp might actually be fine; but if you have wired in your new head unit using the "Autoleads" adaptor to connect the ISO plugs to the Nissan loom, you might find that the power feed for the rear amp is not actually connected. Common problem this - I had it with both my UK-spec Zs when fitting an aftermarket head unit. Simple fix was to splice the live feed for the amp into the live feed for the electric aerial; so that both are now connected to a reliable power source! Problem solved for me as both speakers and amp worked fine thereafter!! Richard:chef:
  9. The Committee and the Moderation team would like to wish all the club's members and their families a VERY HAPPY EASTER!!
  10. MAny happy returns Phil - have a great day mate!! Richard:happybday:
  11. Hi Rich, replied to PM mate - hope I can be of help.... Richard:cool2:
  12. Glad you got it fixed mate - seized calipers/pistons are common on the 300zx. Especially after almost 20 years of hard use!! An over-firm pedal feel is also a sure indication of said seizure; it can be confused with the feeling of "good brakes" as there is very little pedal movement - yet braking ability is actually poor..... .....I have had my calipers replaced with new OEM items and the difference is amazing. Sure I could have gone with a big brake upgrade, but since my car is nor far from stock, I didn't see the point. But with the new calipers and Brembo replacement discs/pads, it is aparent just how good the 300zx brakes actually were from new, despite our thoughts now the cars are 20 years old! Richard:cool2:
  13. I have seen that before too - and it still does not get any better when I see it more!! Just nasty IMO - it has ruined part of what makes a Z32 look so good in the first instance. Whilst some mods can enhance the appearance, there are equally some aspects of a 300zx that should not be messed with. And that is one of them. Richard:gun_bandana:
  14. Yup - my theory also...... .....even if it does not do any major damage, jet washes have been known to actually propel abrasive dirt across the paintwork, thus causing scouring/scratches.... .....and even if it doesn't go that far, a jet wash can strip off the wax protection you had previously lovingly applied to your car!! I never let anyone else clean my cars and will use nothing more powerful than the garden hosepipe to rinse (pre and post wash) them. Richard:flowers:
  15. I fully understand what you mean - but we were running on an old version of the "VB forum software" which was becoming out of date and was not readily compatible with potential new add-ons (like iPhone etc - please bear with me as I'm no IT techie....!). Hence we took the plunge and upgraded to the latest version of the VB software. Luckily we have Lee (JaiKai) on board as he was able to push this change forward - and iron out the bugs and gremlins as they arose. Even I was not a fan at first - to be honest I am a dinosaur and like tradition/familiarity etc.... But I have quickly adapted to it and now the new forum has become so second nature that I can barely remember the old format!! Thanks for the kind support Steve..... .....I believe that we took a big chance in upgrading to the newest version of the software but thankfully with Lee in the driving seat, the transition has not been as problematic as other forums' users have reported. Yes there are still a couple of issues that need resolving - and I dare say that we will still discover a few more as time moves on - but resolve them we will. And ultimately this will make the forum better and more useable (on various mediums); thus ensure our continued future for years to come! On behalf of the committee I thank not just Lee for implementing the new software; but also the members for their support, feedback, criticism, praise and above all for bearing with us whilst the transition took place!! Richard:flowers:
  16. Welcome to the club Alf! Richard:chef:
  17. It's all a racket - everyone has been brainwashed into the whole "green" idealism and successive governments have just jumped on the bandwagon and used it as a means to raise taxes. Which, to be fair, the majority of the population has accepted - toss them a fish and watch them clap. The present system was brought in by the ever popular Gordon Brown - and is pretty much a tax on wealth since the more expensive (and nice) the car, the more road tax falls due..... ...but if the system was trully fair, road fund licence (as is is supposedly called) should be a fixed price for everyone and then the real duty should be on fuel - so everyone does really pay as they go.... ....But what really gets me is that the poxy old rust buckets that tree huggers drive (eg the Citroen 2CV) get away with less tax than either of my cars (because they have small engines); yet they alegedly polute the air far more, since their engines were designed in about AD400 before catalytic convertors were but a twinkle in the inventor's eye:blink: Richard:shifty:
  18. New Meister Rs for me.....:cool3:
  19. Happy birthday Aimee....!!
  20. Great news Chris..... .....I popped into Zedworld to see Jeff on Wednesday and saw your car being worked on. I have to say mate - I love the interior!!! The boot build is a bit much for me (I still like to use the boot for luggage - LOL) but your car is certainly looking superb Chris!! Richard:rockon:
  21. Looking good Dave - and I also love the new wheels on the MR2 too matey!! Richard:cool2:
  22. Fantastic pics Allan - he looks a happy little fella - he's a real credit to you mate!! Richard:cool2:
  23. Shame you have to sell the Em Free after all the work you put into it Allan.... .....but you're probably doing the right thing mate. Getting a sensible car for Shell and another 300zx for yourself out of the proceeds sounds a great idea!! There are plenty of Zs for sale at the moment and it's a buyers' market..!! Good luck with whatever you decide to do mate! Richard:wink:
  24. Happy birthday mate - and don't worry about joining the "zipper club" either..... .....My dad had a triple bypass 20 years ago after a few heart attacks in his early 50s. He's now 76 and still going strong....!! Richard:rockon:
  25. Looks lovely mate - a great colour combination I reckon!! Richard:cool3:
