  1. Oooops.... ......never mind, a bit of selotape and I'm sure it will be as good as new..... Richard:laugh:
  2. Excellent - that's what I like to hear!! Enjoy your weekend matey and best wishes to your good lady too..... Richard:cool3:
  3. Ed Zachery!!! This is a fantastic car - I had the pleasure of sitting in it at Jeff's Xmas meet. I have to say, this is my favourite car on the forum right now - by miles - a (virtually, save for some subtle improvements) stock, original 99-spec TT manual..... Awesome!! If this car is ever up for sale, there will be a long queue to buy it first for sure!!! Richard:yes: PS a small cleaning tip if I may - some tyre black really finishes off the car a treat.....:sweatdrop:
  4. Yup - seems like it's on now Dave..... ....be good to meet you again mate!! Richard:chef:
  5. Yup - what he said..... Richard:wink:
  6. What he said - pretty much - the auto 'box in the 300zx is actually very good considering the age of the car. Fortunately Nissan made changes to the engine and matched it to the slush-box so that overall performance should not suffer. Sure, modern auto boxes have moved on since the 1990s; but I still enjoy driving my auto ZX. Yes, I will one day have it converted no doubt - but only when the current 'box dies!! Hell I spent £1400 rebuilding the auto box on my old red ZX, and even though it was done well, perhaps the manual conversion would have been a better investment... Live and learn I guess!! Richard:yes:
  7. Great news mate..... ....good luck with the new purchase!! Richard:sorcerer:
  8. Happy 50th Al - have a great day mate (despite work) and I hope you're having a decent celebration when you get the chance!! Enjoy, Richard:thumbup:
  9. Lovely car Martin........ But I have to hand it to Bri for the best comment so far...... Have some forum rep for that mate; made me laugh for sure!!! Richard:lol:
  10. Definitley mate - that's a great tip!! Richard:rockon:
  11. I'm another who thinks the HICAS is fine on the car...... .....but make sure that your ball joints are sound; and above all MAKE SURE THE WHEEL ALLIGNMENT IS SPOT ON!!! Many people do not realize just how crucial it is that the steering wheel is bang on the straight with a 300zx. When you get the allignment done on any car, sometimes the technician does not always get the steering wheel dead straight. This is vital with a 300zxTT since the steering wheel houses sensors for the HICAS; so if it isn't straight, the HICAS can operate at the wrong time mid corner.... .....you'll be surprised how differently the car can behave after a proper 4-wheel allignment setup has been done! Richard:chef:
  12. Yup - MJP is best place to buy new OEM parts.... Richard:chef:
  13. You need the biggest gap for a twin turbo - as the gap might refer to that between front/back parts of the caliper itself; rather than the disc thickness! You can also try this company over here - I got a set of refurbed calipers from them last year and the service/quality was great! http://www.brakesint.co.uk Best not to mix aluminium and iron calipers on the same axle; although both parts are interchangeable. Richard:cool2:
  14. Yup - seconded. It's a common issue on the VG30dett and far easier/cheaper to start with before you get to the turbo seals.....
  15. Give this company a try mate.... http://www.hids-direct.co.uk There may be others cheaper on Fleabay, but these guys are in Manchester so returns (if you have an issue) aren't a problem. I had a dodgy ballast unit and they sent me a replacement next day with no messing around.... Richard:cool2:
  16. Happy birthday Chris.....:sorcerer:
  17. Oops - missed another one! Happy birthday for yesterday Joel - I hope you had a great day mate! Richard:cool3:
  18. A belated happy birthday Lee - I hope you had a great day mate!! Richard:thumbup1:
  19. Yup - H3c is just the halogen bulb that J-spec cars require; the actual base shape is the same as H3 so you need an H3 HID kit..... ......and in a 300zx you should still be fine at MOT time. Our dipped beam is a projector unit (as opposed to the more common reflector unit like the full beam) and HID conversions tend to suit projector units. I had my ZX MOTd last Saturday and the garage made no reference to the HIDs...... and my head lamp washers do not work!!! They would have noticed I had HIDs too - the initial switch-on would have given it away! Richard:thumbup1:
  20. Looks a great day Paul - glad you enjoyed it matey!! Richard:thumbup:
  21. You're all going to squeeze into a little 1.0 Micra then......:cowboy:
  22. Terrano.....? ....Or one of those Serena van-type things??
  23. Sounds a great trip Marco.... ....Sadly I will not be able to join in this one - holiday time....:blushing: Richard:surrender:
  24. Hi Dave - it is indeed a good cause mate, and thanks for asking - consider it alright for you to post up your "just giving" appeal nearer the time! Richard:cool2:
  25. That really boils my piss as well..... .....Like you Alan, whenever I park in a public car park, I always park out of the way, in an end bay right over the outer line as far away from the adjacent space as possible. And nearly always, when I return some twonk in an MPV has STILL managed to park right up next to me. I had that happen to me this morning in Sainsburys - when I got back to my car, sure enough there was an MPV next to me. I was a metre away from the white line of the next bay but still the arsehole had gotten too close - and to make matters worse, his wife was the size of a small elephant and I just managed to see her brush past my ZX with her hand bag. Boy did the b*tch get some abuse for that. I honestly despair at the lack of respect people have for the property of others nowadays:angry: Luckily there was only mild surface damage to the laquer so a quick buff with Megs ScratchX and all's well again..... Not the point though! Richard:glare:
