  1. Yes - it was a shame he lost; but good on Andy for reaching the final in the first place. Federer is one of the best players and losing to him in the final is no shame..... .....And Andy still has time to improve so better luck next year!! Agreed - but the ticket prices for the men's final probably cost an arm, a leg and maybe a testicle; so I guess that was a factor in why not to many British supporters turned out for it. The seats were most likely filled with corporate ticket holders enjoying a free day out at someone else's expense - so they were just there "to be there" rather than because they actually wanted to see Andy Murray play.... Richard:shifty:
  2. Welcome to the club Ash!! And good luck with your new purchase - you'll find this place a wealth of knowledge....!! Richard:thumbup1:
  3. Admiral and Elephant are the same company - and charging £25 for something they always covered for free is rubbish. I'm pleased I'm not with Admiral anymore - that's a rip-off..... ......but sadly once one leads it won't be long before others follow. Some companies have £100 windscreen excesses now too, no doubt that'll be the norm shortly. Richard:huh:
  4. Looking good Daz - glad to hear the weather held up for you all and I'm pleased it was a good day mate!! Richard:thumbup1:
  5. Glad you had a great time at japfest 2 daz - and fingers crossed for you that you now have the info you need for Sir Charles to work his magic and complete your 'site!! Good luck Daz; I hope you can finally get things sorted mate. And I'd like to say a big thank you for everyone who has helped each other out over this sorry affair; nice work guys!! Richard:thumbup1:
  6. LOL - but you can if "and" is the first word of the part of the sentence enclosed inside 2 commas; providing the sentence would still make sense if you removed the bit inside the commas (as if the commas are acting like brackets)...... Richard:laugh:
  7. Very nice mate!!! Richard:thumbup1:
  8. All true words mate - and after Mark very kindly stepped in to collect most other members' items from Chris directly, it seemed that Daz was the only person left waiting. And it was purely in reference to Daz's plight that I did not ban Chris sooner TBH. Daz is a long established and respected member of this club and believe me, we would do anything we could to help him under the circumstances. It is unfortunate that Chris would not come online and even attempt to set things straight with Daz; despite being given every opportunity. So with those thoughts in mind, the committee had no other choice than to remove Chris from the forums. I hope most good folk can see that we have made the right decision - and I also hope that Daz gets his website sorted promptly, one way or another. Richard
  9. Thanks for the support mate - it's not easy for us sometimes as we're damned if we do, and damned if we don't!! But ultimately I like to think that we do the right thing by our members and it's always great to see supportive feedback. Richard:thumbup1:
  10. Agreed Allan - and Chris is now banned from our club for good. Richard:asshole:
  11. Chris Bower ~ issued with permanent ban from the club and loss of all benefits. Chris Bower was recently issued with a temporary 7 day ban whilst the committee considered its actions regarding his questionable trading activities. Chris did come on and offer apologies; however he still did not come good in supplying items that other members had paid for in good faith. He chose to ignore any further requests to dispatch goods or come on and explain himself to the membership. The Club Committee has no alternative than to issue this ban for leaving fellow members out of pocket; the 300zx.co.uk club will not tollerate anyone behaving in this way towards fellow members. Richard On behalf of the committee
  12. Sounds like a good meet............. .....I like to come along as well - but will decide a bit nearer the time (and assuming Julia is agreeable to coming along too....) Richard:thumbup1:
  13. All in hand fellas - a permanent ban has to have the backing of the whole committee and we began voting on the issue last Sunday. I have left this open for few extra days, purely for Daz's benefit, and to give Chris one last chance to come on here and face up to Daz on the public forum. The sad fact that Chris has still not bothered, personal issues aside, just serves to justify any action I will be taking later on today. I have said it already, but this club will not tollerate such behaviour towards other members. Richard
  14. Very nice mate - I have recently become fond of the 1980s Mercs myself; I love the big SECs and of course the mighty 190 Cosworth...... Good luck with your new toy!! Richard:thumbup1:
  15. Happy birthday mate!! Richard:thumbup1:
  16. For me it would have to be Zedworld....... But I have heard good things from the other two mentioned above and they are not a million miles from you. Richard:thumbup1:
  17. Sorry to see you have sold it mate - but congrats on the sale anyway!! It shows that superb Zs like this don't hang around for long and will always find a buyer in the end..... ......don't be a stranger either Boldy; plenty of ex-zedders still stay on the forum for the banter etc!! I hope the new owner comes on so we can still see the car in the club! Richard:thumbup1:
  18. Agreed - I prefer the unbroken look of the standard nose panel and the reasons above suggest it's better for practical purposes as well as appearance!! Richard:thumbup1:
  19. Yup - what he said!! Richard:thumbup1:
  20. I bought a set of exchange re-conditioned calipers as mentioned on this thread..... http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?162796-Stuck-caliper-piston&p=1657649&viewfull=1#post1657649 ....I cannot recommend them enough TBH as the car brakes like a new car now!! Sure a decent big brake conversion is always going to be better - but it will cost you!! Richard:thumbup1:
  21. My opinion, for what it's worth mate, is that you might get the piston free - even perform a minor rebuild - only to have the other side go in a few months. With the age of these cars now, caliper seizure is going to be a common issue and it is a major cause of the dreaded "300zx poor brakes" syndrome. If you don't want to go the full hog of a big (expensive) brake conversion, then I can recommend a set of fully refurbed front calipers. I bought a set from http://www.brakesint.co.uk for about £300 including VAT - then I got a refund of about £50 when I sent the old ones back (so Approx £250 all in) and the car brakes like a new car now. Dead responsive, good pedal feel and above all, it stops safely!! Richard:thumbup1:
  22. LOL - yeah..... those plain brown wrapped parcels addressed to "Maurice Day".... (For those who remember Maurice Day from Viz....) Richard:biggrin:
  23. Excellent Craig....!!! Knightrider was my favourite TV show back in the early 1980s - I'd love a KITT replica even today!! Richard:thumbup1:
  24. I'd not do it for free either - the thing is, even with all the free publicity you may get, how much extra business would youactually receive from it in the future? Exactly - you cannot say. And is this show somewhere that you would chose to advertise your business on the strenght that it would generate the sales for you? That's a fair suggestion Gaz!! It sounds like they are open to negotiation and, as time is running out, will no doubt do a deal with you! Richard:thumbup1:
  25. I think your discs have been sent, but they went via Bermuda and disappeared in the infamous triangle. And then these little green men got involved and then...... ......oh no; wait. That's Tom Cruise's marriage I am thinking about..... So sorry to hear you stil ldo not have your discs daz; I am pretty disgusted with Chris now - personal problems or not - and this club will simply not tollerate such behaviour. It's nothing short of theft mate - so if you get no joy then why not go to the police. If chris really does have so much on his plate, a little visit from the boys in blue isn't going to worry him anymore, now is it....? Richard:huh:
