good place to get body work done
Hi Richard, Take a look in our "services to members" section in the subbed forums - Big_Jim has a line in there. I have not seen his work myself, but I'm sure he could give you some advice and possibly send you some sample pics.... Richard

A belated happy birthday mate! Richard:red_indian:

just a thought ..........
Thanks for your support foks - I am pleased to hear such words of encouragement!! We do our best; and as good as we might appear for some........ ......we just can't please everybody!!! Mikey, you say it like the majority of people are disatisfied with the club and forum; but I doubt that is the case. If it were, nobody would actually come on here at all - remember, you pays your money, you takes your choice..... And if you are indeed the voice of the silent [minority - LOL] then I have 2 thoughts.... 1. I am pleased they are silent...... 2. If the silent do need a voice, hell they must be pissed they got stuck with yours matey!!!! As you can see this place is great for banter; and I hope you take my friendly jibes in the same spirit as your own were meant...... Richard:biggrin:

Uk zed
Cheers Phil - and you'd certainly be well qualified to make that judgement mate!!! I'm hoping it will be done in the next couple of weeks; and the pics will surely follow........ I think the price of the 300zx in the UK ranged from £33k to £36k depending on the year they were on sale - prices atarted higher and, IIRC, dropped towards the end of UK production in an effort to sell the remaining stock. Back in 1994, £34k was a lot of money for a car - especially a Nissan!!! Richard:biggrin:

my new car
Looks like a real bargain there Allan - plus it's good for Shell and little Charlie to mate! I've never diven a Focus myself, but they are supposed to be a pretty good drive - especially for a compact family car - so I can certainly understand why the RS versions are highly thought of. I hope it serves you well mate, Richard:thumbup1:

being threatned to be taken to court
I know what you mean - and sometimes you just want to have your own say as well; if only to try and set the record straight. But often in doing so, you end up antagonising the other party into doing something stupid (like instigating proceedings) even if they don't actually have a chance of winning. Or you might inadvertently trip yourself up and say something which may prove detrimental to you. And even if you don't, the correspondence can get protracted - to the point where you get yourself angry just seeing another letter/e-mail from him. Best action is do nothing and let him get fed up with pursuing the matter; scrotes like that are simply not worth bothering about mate!! Richard:thumbup1:

being threatned to be taken to court
Agreed - do nothing at all mate. But do make sure you keep a copy of your advert, e-mailed correspondence and your photographs; just in case!! Truth is, it won't get that far and he will crawl back under the stone from whence he came. Richard:asshole:

How about another Red Lyon meet guys.....
I know the weather has not been to kind lately but it is still summertime.....!! So how about we organize another meet at The Red Lyon - it's about time we got together again... Does anyone want to offer suggestions for dates? Richard:punk:

Worth geting locking wheel nuts? If so, cheap or expensive ones?
Exactly!! Whilst I don't know whether wheel theft has actually dropped, it's better to be safe than sorry. Thing is, a determined thief will probably still knick your wheels if he really wanted - even with locking nuts - but by at least having them you reduce the chance of an opportunist theft. Opinion about z in the wet conditions
Exactly - RWD with nigh-on 300bhp and no modern devices like traction control or electronic stability program..... ......But decent tyres do make a difference!! I only only use mine as a weekend toy now; but I have been caught out in the rain several times - especially during a week's holiday - but I have had no real dodgy issues with the back end stepping out; and I don't drive like a granny either!! I am running on Continental Sport Contact 3 tyres all round; and the Goodyear Eagles I had before that were also brilliant. Expensive, yes, but also safe and (a little more) predictable - my life is worth more than a few extra £££s spent on tyres!! Richard:thumbup1:

FAO:- Mr. Chris Bower
A good friend of mine told me this today. Personally I am disgusted that he is just carrying on as if nothing has happened. He did not have the common decency to come online here and give Daz the courtesy of an apology or explanation; instead Chris just hid behind his "personal issues." Yet he still has the time to visit other car forums and advertise his car for sale. Furthermore, knowledgable of his "questionable" trading activities, said car forum still allows him to trade freely. I am morally satisfied that 300zx.co.uk took the steps to ban Chris Bower from our club, as an example that we will not tollerate such despicable behaviour towards our members. Richard:no:

help on wheels
That should be just fine mate - i have the same wheel/tyre sizes and my car sits on MeisterR coilovers; lowered by about 25-30mm and there's no problem at all with rubbing. It's all good..... Go for it!! Richard:thumbup1:

LOL - like you need another ZX Gaz..... I would though, TBH!!! Heh heh - cheers mate..... Although I too have partaken of a few units myself this pleasant evening!!! Richard:biggrin:
-
Well we bought the Lancer
Ooh, I missed that bit... Well done Jane - I'm sure you'll do just fine in the rest your course too....!! You have that ZX to buy yourself once it is all over, so if that's not an incentive.....:whistling: Richard:thumbup1:

Whether manual or auto; Uk or J-spec - we all know the best advice is to buy the best 300zx you can find..... .....and a nice, straight, tidy, rust free UK spec car is always worth the money; whichever transmission it happens to have!! Great find Gary - if I were looking for a 300zx right now then I would certainly make the trip over to Ireland for this one!! Richard:thumbup1:
-
Well we bought the Lancer
Agreed!! You've done the right thing Jane - it's nice and new so no impending problems; plus it will still be under manufacturer's warranty for a bit yet. I know what you mean about finance - I would not fancy that either - but it wil certainly see you through college! Richard:thumbup1:
-
Can you get classic car insurance for the zx??
Perfect mate - so as long as your age does not prohibit you; pop the ZX on a classic policy and save yourself some money!! Richard:biggrin:
-
Thanks MJP - it arrived today......
.....My Stillen Type III front lip that is!!! So it's a big thank you to Mike at MJP for sorting it in the best, most economic way - £228 delivered to my door!! Cheers Mike, you're a star matey!! I can't wait to get it fitted now; plus I have a couple of other paint related plans I might have done at the same time.....:shifty: Richard:thumbup1:

Getting old too quick?
Exactly mate - and there's always somewhere for our wives / girlfriends to wander off to whilst we stand around admiring each others' cars....
-
Getting old too quick?
LOL - you may say that in jest but it's actually not a bad idea.... ......I have been to various National Trust houses only to find, to my pleasant surprise, a car show taking place that very day. I was at Dyrham Park near Bath last summer and the MG owner's club had a big meet there. And only a couple of weeks ago, Julia was doing the Race for Life at Waddesdon Manor, so I wandered off into the grounds for a quiet stroll, only to find there was a big meet for Morgan and TVR owners!! Oh and at Buckland Abbey a few years back we happend to encounter a Jaguar owners club meet.... Seeing the cars lined up outside a big old stately home made me think that we could do that..... Maybe I'll suggest it to Voddy!! Richard:biggrin:
